Before he could squirm free, Cotton Candy gave the Eevee a loving snug.
She couldn't help but giggle at Kelsie's introduction. "Oh, and I'm Cotton Candy, I'll be your server today." She continued her giggling fest. "Would you care for something to drink first while you look at the menus?" She gestured to the menus stuck behind the condiment rack. "Our specials today are the All American, which is a cheeseburger, fries, and your choice of soda or milkshake. It also comes with your choice of a slice of one of our pies, made fresh here, daily." One would notice that the Flaffbat didn't carry a note pad or pencil on her at all, if they cared to look; but not once had she gotten an order wrong. "Oh! Our soup of the day is broccoli cheddar, if you're wondering." She gave a delighted smile and awaited Kelsie's (and Cupcake's) response.

That snug was so nice, that he licked her cheek and let out a content little noise. How could he not? She was so nice!
"I think water for both of us will be fine, thank you Cotton Candy."
Kelsie listened to the specials and nodded. "The All American sounds good, with a chocolate shake I think please, and..ohh I dunno Cupcake what slice of pie should I get?" "VEE!" She laughed. "Cherry will do."
Cupcake was pleased it'd been interpreted correctly, and scented the air again slightly. "What do you want silly boy?" Cupcake shrugged, and looked up to Cotton Candy "What ever you think I'll like best." Which to Kelsie sounded like "Vee! Veeeee! Eevee!!" "Uhm...I think he'll have.." "VEE!" (Don't worry I ordered!). Kelsie laughed. "I think he's trying to talk to me, I really do. I suppose whatever you think he might like is fine, thank you!"

The Flaffbat teen chuckled at the entire exchange. Of course she could understand both sides of the conversation, but it was still humorous to her that Kelsie was trying to translate for Cupcake. "Oh, so two waters, an All American with a chocolate shake, cherry pie, and something I think Cupcake would like. How would you like you burger cooked and what would you like on it?"

"Oh, well done please and everything on it." Kelsie smiled at the teen, and turned to Cupcake who was staring up at her as well, and looking happy as can be. "Looks like you had fun here Cupcake." "Vee! Eevee! Veeeee!" I sure did! he beamed at Cotton. "I wanna come see you again sometime, you're soooo nice!"
Of course he didn't know that the next time he'd make it to see her, he'd look considerably different, and would be able to be understood properly by Kelsie at least.

"Oh, okay! Can do!" She chimed and gave Cupcake an unseeing wink before spinning off to go place the order. It wasn't long before she brought the two waters, one with a bendy straw for the little Eevee. "Oh, I am so sorry, I forgot to ask: did you want lemon in your waters? The idea is still rather foreign to me, I must confess, so I tend to forget." She gave an embarrassed laugh, placing a hand on the back of her head.

"Without lemon is just fine, thank you." Kelsi chuckled softly, a gentle sound really, and Cupcake was doing his best to drink from the straw and making a slight mess of things. But still he was managing. "Aww it's okay Cotton Candy! We don't mind really! Don't be embarrassed!" and he was up on his hind legs and nuzzling at her a little. "Cupcake down!" he got down with a sheepish look, and resat in his spot. "If you can't behave we can take it to go Cupcake." he let out a sigh, and sort of hung his head. He was only trying to be nice, and make Cotton smile!

A hand absently petted Cupcake as he nuzzled against Cotton Candy. "Oh, he's fine," she giggled, "Lemme go check on your food." She smiled and headed back to kitchen. She returned in little time with all of Kelsie's food and a small plate with a large, pink-frosted cupcake on it, complete with sprinkles. "Oh, I hope you like your food!" She placed the burger and shake near Kelsie while setting the cupcake right in front of the Eevee. "Oh, I'll bring you your pie when you're done." She smiled sweetly again and waited to see if either needed anything else.

"Thank you so much!" Kelsie beamed at Cotton Candy and then the pair started eating, Kelsie talking to Cupcake who though he answered was not understood. It was fine, Kelsie knew him well enough that one would think she could understand him.
Before long they were done with the meal, dessert and all, and Kelsie pulled out money to pay for the meal as well as leave a tip. "Be sure to say goodbye to your new friend Cupcake, we need to be going home."
Cupcake looked around, and spying Cotton ran over to her. "Kelsie says we have to go home now. It was really nice meeting you! I plan to come back a lot!" He grinned up at her as he said this, a bright pleased look to his face.

Cotton Candy had been waiting on another table; she bent down to be more face-to-face with Cupcake as he gave his goodbye. She smiled her sweet smile and ruffled the fur on his head. "Oh, I'll look forward to your next visit. Take care of yourself." She stood as the Eevee scampered off, she waving to Kelsie as they exited the restaurant.
