One black eyebrow rose at the missed shot. "No, I'm stating a fact. And a weakness. Have you ever spoken with one of them? They're teenage at most, both mentally and physically. Although there are a few of them that are... downright terrifying."
A few faces flicked through her mind, and she completely forgot to attack.

If there was one thing she hated more than Halloween, it was probably adolescence. Syd combining the two was NOT helping her case. Ami had actually propped Junpei up to her side and was leaning on him, completely forgetting that they were in an actual battle, but still wary of any sudden movement.
"Oh yes BOO HOO to the Halloween things," she said, rolling her hands and speaking sarcastically, "Let's all side with them and be best friends!."
Ami smiled a fake smile, and said, "Well you know what Sydney? Those things grow up to be ******** monsters that kill humans. They scare the s**t out of people- CHILDREN for God's sake." She looked at Syd with utter disdain and added, "Oh and let's hit close to home. They killed Julie." Finishing her little rant, that, in all honesty, was rather needed at the moment, she said, "So excuse me if I don't have sympathy for the little ********> 22/40

The flash of light from the arrow hit Ami straight on, blinding her.

Ami wasn't prepared at all for the bright flash that followed Sydney's arrow. It was actually the first arrow she'd dodged from the girl, yet she ended up blinding herself in the process.
"Oh! My god what is this-" she mumbled to herself.
< It's that weapon's attack. I'll try to steer you okay! >
Junpei that is literally the last thing on this planet that I want, Ami thought flatly.

Ami stumbled around a bit more, holding Junpei defensively. ******** she must've looked like an idiot. At least no more arrows seemed to be impaling her.
That was always a plus.

Izy yelled, enjoying himself thoroughly and feeling quite satisfied with how she had FINALLY seen how his ability worked. It wasn't crass violence, it was classy! A useful--

Ami let out a huff as the arrow whipped past her shoulder, clipping her rather harshly. Junpei uttered a quick < Are you okay? > to which Ami didn't respond. She was too focused on the girl in front of her.
Now that the blindness had faded, she went directly in for the killed, stabbing her glaive forward and letting it land where it would.

She gritted her teeth with the hit and shot again, not saying a word to the other female. This was something that probably had been coming for a while, she admitted now. And if it made them both grow as fighters, that was just a side benefit. Izy purred.

Ami held up a finger and put her hands on her knees for a moment, just catching her breath. She looked like an enormous idiot, but she really was out of breath. Ami exercised daily, but only to keep herself from growing too robust, not to actual gain any ample experience.
Of course Syd was going to play dirty and an arrow came sailing in her arm. Ami got angry and instead of using Junpei, she just went out and kicked the girl in the side.

"Ow," Syd said dryly, jumping back a few leap to get out of kicking range. Really, Ami needed to know not to expect fair play. She brought up Izy again, shooting the girl ruthlessly. That kick in the side had hurt, after all!

The next arrow hit her knee just so that it caused her to stumble and fall onto the ground, dropping Junpei entirely. A pained grimace plastered her face. Not because of the arrow, but because she realized she was sorely outmatched. She hadn't even scratched Syd's surface, yet here she was collapsed onto the ground.
After a moment or two, Ami stood up, yanking the arrow out of her leg with a VERY audible gasp. She leaned on Junpei like he was a crutch and flatly said, "I'm done," before limping off.

Syd wanted to say something. But she shrugged, letting Izy go back to his choker form. At least she'd gotten a good fight in, she thought as she started for the dorms. It was time for her studying.
