If only they knew! Pipith was too proud not to show up. It was a chance to show off, and with two others bronzes and a proddy green around, well...the little dragon had even more to prove! The warning not to push themselves would go utterly ignored, as today was as much a competition to Pipith as everything else.

Once they were given the go-ahead, and Set'al was secure on his back, the bronze launched into the air with a flamboyant bugle. He climbed high, up and up into the sunlight, wheeling and whirling in a pattern tighter than a large or even average bronze could ever hope to match, before dropping to skim close over the heads of his competition with another trumpeting call.

'Look at me!' was the clear message, directed not just at Scarath and Plexith, but everyone - and especially Toulonth.

Z’iv had heard ‘not mandatory’, and planned to spend his time lounging in bed with a handsome blue rider instead. Zetath had other ideas. The walls of the hut shook.

“Uuuugh.”

now!> The black thumped his tail against the wall again and let out a low hiss.

Z'iv observed with a sigh, kissing his bedmate briefly before getting up and heading over to his clothes chest; it was less effort to go to this whatever it was than to argue with his dragon.

A few minutes later Zetath skimmed over to the gathered riders, landing with a thump and glaring around with his usual good grace. Z’iv on the other hand gave a lazy salute and a grin to his wingmates and leaders. “Heya Sweethearts, sorry we’re late. What’re we up to here then?”

Zetath said before anyone else could, broadcasting his words to the whole group. he added privately,

At that comparison the blackrider perked up immediately, a huge grin on his face. To his fellow humans he said; “Sorry, ‘course we are, don’t know what’s up with my memory today.”

Z’iv and Zetath were not the only late arrivals; Opeth appeared over the Weyr just as the black landed by the group and swooped down towards the group and touched down lightly. the blue said with almost tangible sarcasm. He was in a mood, but then Opeth was often in a mood.

Xan tried to make up for it with a cheery grin and a sharp salute. “Sorry we’re late, I was off visiting my family and my mother would not stop talking. She’s still trying to get me to get married, can you believe? Hope we’ve not disturbed anything by dropping in late, are we going in any special order here or what? Hey! Pipith’s looking good! Go Pipith!” Sitting up tall on her dragon the curly-haired woman clapped enthusiastically, grinning up at the bronze and his rider.

Cetalese was not one to rush hard work, even if she did think that she should show up to all practices for the wing, mandatory or not. Therefore, she arrived a bit later than her wingmates to the practice, gliding in on Halith's back with her Green still shining in some places with the oil from Cetalese's hours of hard work earlier in the morning.

Excited to be at a practice where she could do something fun, and seeing Pipith's excellent trick, Halith attempted a quick roll as she flew over, causing Cetalese to tense and cling to the straps so as not to fall off. Thankfully, she'd been expecting something of the sort and had been properly strapped in and prepared for such a maneuver. Halith's attempt was surprisingly not bad, and she pulled out of the roll with an unusual grace (for her).

Easy, Halith. Greet Plexith and Scarath, please, so they know which we are. ... As if they don't already.

Halith either ignored or-- more likey-- missed Cetalese's vague dry humor and bugled a greeting to the assembled dragons. I am here! Good afternoon, Plexith and Scarath!

Cetalese shook her head and patted her dragon on the neck. Even though they were one Green among many, Halith's personality often warned those who already knew her exactly which Green she was, long before Halith remembered to offer her name to them. Perhaps setting down for a moment so I can speak to D'lin and S'kor would be a good idea.

What? Oh, fine, Cetalesemine. But just for a moment!

Halith spiraled down and landed with a thud near S'kor and D'lin, but after a quick look at them her attention was redirected to the dragons up in the air, showing off. Cetalese could feel her impatience and knew she didn't have very much time.

"I'm sorry I'm late. Please forgive me. Halith needed an oiling and I didn't want to put the leathers on before she was mostly dry." She glanced over at Z'iv and Zetath, who she had seen only just beat her there and smiled a faint greeting at him before looking back to S'kor and D'lin.

Watching Pipith perform Plexith grumbled slightly about the bronzes obvious need to show off 'It's like he's making up for something' The larger bronze told his rider in an amused tone. 'Plexith! Be nice..he's in your wing and he's good - not many bronzes are that agile' D'lin chastised his dragon though he knew the remarks were born more from bronze rivalry then anything else. 'Not many bronzes are that small you mean...' Plexith added and D'lin sighed deciding to ignore his dragon and instead turning his attention to S'kor. "Having a bronze that maneuverable is a skill we should take advantage of" He told his second

'More are coming' Plexith informed his rider in a pleased tone - it was a far more suitable turn out now as far as he was concerned. 'One of them is Halith' He added unnecessarily as the familiar green rolled overhead and bugled a greeting. The hyper active green was not the sort of Dragon Plexith was typically drawn towards but as her's was a favorite of his the bronze was inclined to consider the green one of his favorite's as well and so he returned her exuberant greeting with a pleased welcoming rumble of his own, adding polite welcomes to Black Zetath and blue Opeth as well.

"Had a bit to much fun last night I'm guessing" D'lin responded to Z'iv though there wasn't any malice to the comment and it was clear the bronzerider was simply teasing a little bit. It wasn't exactly a secret that Z'iv's night's were often spent in the company of another. Usually a different one each time.

"Don't worry Xan - we've only just started things" D'lin assured the blue rider and then included Cetalese in his assurance as she walked up in time to hear it.

The bronze pair did not have to wait long for Pipith to show his stuff. S'kor chuckled softly, his hair ruffled by the small bronze's passing breeze. He made a small note on the clipboard, and nodded to D'lin. "Indeed. We were lucky to get that pair."

Not long after Pipith took to the air, a number of other riders showed up. It amused him as the wave of dragons arrived. "Welcome." His lips twitched as Zetath boldly informed his rider, and everyone else, exactly what was going on. "We look forward to seeing you fly Z'iv."

To Xan, he nodded sympathetically. "No worries. I completely understand." He did arched his brow when he heard that her mother was still encouraging her to marry. "Is this so?" S'kor gave a glance to D'lin. "Can you handle this or would you like one of us to talk her to her?" He didn't want her distracted when they were trying to fight Thread. "No order Xan, just whenever your ready."

The watching bronze bellowed his approval for Pipith to hear. That was the kind of flying the wing would need! He then greeted the new arrivals. Welcome Zetath, Opeth. I am glad you can keep your rider on track, he added to the black. Scarath rumbled with amusement as Halith made her presence known. Mine Halith and Hers are here. Not like he really needed to say anything.

S'kor waved aside the apology. "Greetings Cetalese and Halith. Good. You don't want the leathers to slip." He nodded. "So are you ready to fly now?" His eyes sweeped the group to include everyone standing there and not just Cetalese.

(Guys I'm trying to keep track of post numbers for each rider in my first post. Let me know if I've miss-counted for someone.)

Good afternoon, Halith! the little bronze replied.

Coming to land beside the others after his successful stunt, Pipith thrummed happily, posing to be better admired and preening under the attention. His eyes whirled in happy blues and greens as he settled into a position to watch the others take their turns and perform. He wasn't completely finished, of course, but for now he would take a little break to bask in the glow of his own awesomeness.

Set'al just breathed a sigh of relief. If that hadn't gone well, he would have had a very unhappy dragon on his hands.
