There wasn't much else to say while Gage and his pokemon were on the hunt. There was no need for real secrecy now that the Zoroark was injured, besides it would take much too much energy to place every step carefully, while the mother was fleeing for her life. Gage still had three of her Zorua pups though, none of them captured, just collected and trapped. But to hurry up the chase, Gage withdrew Croagunk, Eevee, and Yamask so it was only him, Doom, and Raichu. After all, she had proved herself to be intelligent as well with her new found power. Still running with Doom in the lead, Gage knew this had to end soon. Both parties were tiring out quickly, reaching the point of exhaustion. At least, he noticed, they were heading towards the Forest. Flushing useless pokemon from the undergrowth, when Gage caught sight of another Houndoom retreating out of the corner of his eye did he know what was going on now. "Wait, hold on. Stop, Doom. There's no use. She's using her Illusions to hide from us. She could be any of the wild pokemon around us right now ... but I bet momma fox sure is watching." Gage took a few deep breaths to get enough oxygen to his lungs after that run. He took off the make-shift net from off his belt and held it up high, for everyone to see. Gage could have sworn he caught sight of a pair of gleaming eyes glaring at him from the shadows of the Route 5 forest, but still he said, "Ain't that right, momma fox? You want your babies back?" Taking one by the scruff of its neck, Gage held the Zorua cub in front of Doom's face, and the hound quickly caught up, opening those slavering jaws up wide so that the little cub's tail only hung inches from a toothy death. "Come on, momma. You know we have unfinished business here." No, nothing. The bushes rustled but it was just a frightened pokemon fleeing the scene. Doom growled deep in his throat, hungry, even for fox flesh should his trainer feed the Zorua to him. It was a gamble. One dead fox to enrage the mother, and then he could get the rest of the litter. Unless ... he already had all three, and the Zoroark, knowing she was far outmatched was biding her time to kill him in his sleep. There had to be a time that Doom and Raichu wasn't at Gage's side. And so long as the foxes weren't in a pokeball, there still was no issues. The situation hung on a needle point. (( Rarity, coloration, ability x3 )) Still nothing. And anyone could call his bluff. He wasn't about to feed a Super Rare pokemon to his hellhound. Gage added the Zorua fox back to the net and listened carefully. Doom snapped his waiting jaws shut, and licked his muzzle, turning his head this way and that. Suddenly the hound heard something, and giving an eerie bay, took off into the trees. "Doom, wait!" But it was too late. It felt like red hot fire pokers in his back, the Zoroark's Shadow Claw. The mother hissed in his ear, and sunk her claws in another fraction of an inch in warning. Raichu froze where she was, afraid for her trainer's life. Checkmate. Gage slowly undid the net from his belt and put the three Zorua cubs back down on the ground. They ran to their mother, and she shoved Gage forward, running in the other direction with her brood. (( Rarity, coloration, ability x3 )) Which way was it now to Asude? Raichu hurried over to help Gage back up to his feet, and Doom was no where to be seen. But Gage couldn't wait for the gullible hound to return, not with his back bleeding like this, soaking his black shirt. And with Raichu leading, he had to half limp back towards that graveyard town. How fitting, if he died, he wouldn't have to go far at all to be buried. Gage chuckled grimly, his muscles already stiff from the difficult day on the hunt. (( Rarity, coloration, ability x3 )) Practically collapsing into the pokecenter, never could such a red roofed building look so wonderful right then. The poor nurse, suddenly getting Gage as a patient while her expertise lay in pokemon. At least she could stop the bleeding and get him stable and sleeping. So what did he have to show for it? Well, Gage had left his Houndoom out on Route 5 alone, he'd probably be laid up in a bed for a week, and he had no pokemon to show for it. Oh well, right? Part of the job. But that was probably the pain relievers talking. Gage soon after passed out, Raichu still at his side, looking over him worriedly. Post 354 Next a Murkrow was peering over at Chael, giving a single caw to the trainer. Another creepy Pokemon watching him. The boy felt on edge here, and the mist didn't help either. So he'd ignore that avian. Chael saw a Duskull in the distance, looming over a pond creepily. Deciding to evade that ghost, he'd walk far around it. He needed to keep track on his purpose for being here. Post 355 It wasn't long before two Pokemon came in front of Chael, this time challenging him. It was a pair of Poochyena, both looking like they were young. Not wanting to injure them too bad, Chael sent out only Aiden. The Simisear glanced at the pups, letting out a solid Yawn towards the duo. It didn't take long before they were out like a light. ((Rolling to catch. )) Post 356 A flash of black struck out, knocking Chael over with a long aggressive growl. A black furred puffball that had a a strange marking over his face. Obviously this one didn't trust humans. Especially after Gauge went through here. His hand went to the oldest Pokeball on his belt. A Zebstrika popped out, whacking the fox with a solid stomp attack. "This is it. That's a Zorua." Chael said, eyes shining wot curiosity. It was... interesting. Studying an illusive Pokemon like this would get him noticed in the Pokemon professor community. He'd get to intern in no time. Lizzy sent out an arc of lightning, striking the black mammal again. Hand going to an empty ball, Chael struck it on the Zorua's head. With three shakes... it was his.
