It was eerily silent tonight. King Slime lied down on his back on the grass and stargazed. If his subjects had seen him now, then they would have known something was amiss. First, he was neither singing nor dancing. Furthermore, this was not because he was sleeping, eating, drinking, or talking to anyone. In fact, this once jolly king seemed rather melancholy.

He felt sick. His heart ached. It was true what they said. It really was lonely at the top. While he loved his subjects, dearly, he could not single out any one of them to ask on anything like a date. How could he? He wished he could find someone he could love, not as a subject, but as an equal.

Just then, he saw a shooting star in the sky. He immediately sat up. He wondered if this was a sign. "We know this must sound selfish." In a rare instance of humility, he then dropped the royal we. "No, I know it does. But I wish I could meet someone who would love me and who I could love just as much."

Ace scowled as he dragged himself back to the little cave he'd made his home, mud dripping from his wings. Ugh, girls, he thought sourly. Why are they all so... so... stuck up? Can't find a single one that can take a joke. Especially the one he'd pranked today. She'd caught him in the act and her boyfriend had sent Ace flying into the mud he'd splattered the girl with. It wasn't like I dumped it on her. It wasn't even enough to coat half of her! Just a light peppering, that was all. But noooo... overreact like all of the others.

Still in a sour mood, he plopped down by the pool of water just outside his home and proceeded to clean himself. He paused for a moment, however, when he noticed the reflection of the night sky in the semi-clear water. Ace turned his gaze upward and swore one of the stars twinkled at him. He sighed, lowering his head for a moment. "I must be in a real slump," he mumbled, glancing around to make sure no one else was around before turning his eyes skyward once more. "Look... I know this ain't like me and you probably have better wishes to grant, but... I'm getting kinda lonely down here. Grant's been hangin' out with some girl, and Cherish... well, she's got other friends too. And Cher ain't good with pranks..."

He paused then forced himself to continue. "I just... want to be a part of something again." Ace had lowered his head as his voice got quieter, staring into his reflection. "Grant and Cherish have other friends to hang out with... y'know? But they're all I've got. They're the closest thing I've got to family. It makes me really happy to be with them. They can't be with me all of the time, I know that. That's why..." He signed and turned his gaze skyward again. "Look, we both know that I have problems with women getting mad at me, but I really want a family. One of you's gotta have a spare wish to grant, right?" His dark gray eyes flicked from one star to another, eventually settling back on the star he'd originally engaged in conversation. "You can pull it off, can't you? It's just a kid or two. And I bet Cher would love some Gladiers her own age to play with, even for just a little while." His ears flattened against his head, as if the star was giving him a counterargument like Grant always did. "I'd take good care of them, really! I can..." He hesitated before continuing. "I can cut down on the pranks. I promise. So..." His ears perked up in hesitant hope. "Please?"

"Why does blood always have to be so hard to fully remove from my knife?" Tonberry mused to himself as he tried cleaning one of his favourite knives again, true it was dried blood since he didn't get to it in time due to other...matters but still, it could be a substance that was easier to come off! After a while he FINALLY got off the blood and placed it with the rest of his collection and walked out of his cave that was his home and looked up at the starry night sky and sighed, looking back down he noticed several couples out enjoying the nice warm night together, a couple of families with kids and he just sighed, he may enjoy DOINKing others and making them pay for making him upset etc but he still hadn't been able to find love. He had tried to find someone who would understand him, someone who would love him regardless of the fact his favourite past time was basically killing people but that wasn't exactly something that just reeled the girls in, that was something that he usually left out he met them but still, given most of his robes had blood on them they question why and well...needless to say he was now no longer in the company of the woman he was speaking to and, if anything, sometimes it had upset him so much that he er...actually killed her.

Tonberry knew it was wrong, he knew that he shouldn't do that to others just because he was rejected but hey, when he had been rejected so many times he got fed up with being rejected so many times he snapped and a couple of girls had gotten caught in the cross fire and died because of their ignorance, did he regret it? Of course not, they deserved it! But still, he was still now sitting here wanting love...true love and something told him that probably would never happen. Tonberry looked up to the sky once more and saw a shooting star, as cheesy as it was and probably would not grant his wish at all he decided to make a wish, maybe the Gods would hear him and grant him his one true wish. "I know I haven't exactly shown the right way to treat a lady and I know that I am not one who can REALLY be trusted around another but I am a nice guy if they ever decided to get to know me, I am honest and loyal and I can have fun that isn't killing another but I just wish that I could find another who understands me and accepts me and loves me for who I am, I just want to be happy and whilst killing is fun I do want to have the company of another woman and even, maybe, one day have children but right now no one will even give me a chance, they hear and/or see what I do and think that I am nothing more then a murderer but I am more then that! I just wish a some woman could see past my bloody knife and see there is more then just what is on the outside" he said as he sighed and got up, walking back into his cave to see if there were any other knives that needed cleaning.

Yue sighed as he walked about the path. It was late at night, and the rest of his pack were fast asleep. As usual Azelf had tried to follow him on his patrols. Thankfully Aqua had managed to talk the smaller gladier out of it. A rare small smile appeared on his face. The young, blue male had practically become a son to him. But just as quickly as it came, the smile faded. Replaced with the usual frowning lips. He lifted his head to the moon and stars above him. ... He had always been rather fond of the night time.. It just seemed part of him. The adult male sighed as he looked at the stars... How they formed little groups... little families.

They were a group... but they weren't all a family. Really the only one he had was Azelf. He... wanted more. While he wasn't looking for a mate right now.. he didn't mind the child's presence. Honestly he quite liked it. The winged male wouldn't mind a little girl. His wings twitch and he blinked as a star went rocketing across the sky. He thought about it for a moment before eventually closing his eyes. Children did this when they wanted something didn't they?

He paused for a moment, he felt really awkward doing this. "Please... I wish I had another... Even if its not actually mine. It doesn't matter to me weither it is or not." Yue would love it all the same.
