"I know. I know.. I'm not going to give up. It's just... hard," he said while shifting his gaze down. It was rather hard to keep up good spirits. At the mention of the food again, Jericho glanced up at Lizzy and offered a weak smile.
"It's delicious."

"See, it's alright to be sad... But you have to get all the sad out, and then replace it with happy!" She continued to pet him on his head, pausing when she heard the word 'delicious'. With that one word, Jericho might had blown her mind, mostly because 'delicious' was not a word most people used to describe her food, "R-really?" emotion_kirakira

The look on Lizzy's face threw Jericho off. Staring at her, he might have leaned back a little.
"Yes...?" he said, sounding a little confused, "It. It really is good."

"You're... You're the first person to ever compliment my cooking..." She might had teared up as she threw her arms around the boil, and hugged him, all the while petting him on his head, seeing how he was seated on the floor and she was standing, "You're the best dragon-friend ever, Jericho."
Note: Lizzy's only dragon-friend.
Note: Lizzy appreciates the little things in life.

The hug caught him by surprise, though Jericho carefully placed down his plate and wrapped a wing around her in return. Her words actually warmed his heart a little, which with the way things were lately, was really kind of nice.
"Well, there's a first for everything. I really do like it though."

"You will get all the things. All the food. You will never go hungry again," She had adopted Jericho into the family in her heart, and it made her feel proud for some reason, "Heeeeeeeee! That makes me happy!" She continued to hold him as she looked down at him, clearly excited, "Do you like waffles? And eggs? And toast? And steak? I tend to overcook steak though-" This is an understatement, "-it's hard to achieve a 'medium'..."

Jericho's eyes lit up at the sound of steak. Eggs were nice too. But. STEAK.
"Steak is always good. Meat of any sort really. And don't worry about overcooking. I like my food charred," he said before starting to eat what was on his plate once more. She seemed to be rather excited about this. He wondered how others felt about her cooking for that matter too.

The polite reaction to Lizzy's cooking was usually a 'No, thank you', while the Mac reaction involved not eating. Sure, he ate whatever he was given as long as the food wasn't undercooked or overcooked, but the most she had ever received was a 'This tastes alright'.
Nobody had expressed any sort of liking or enthusiasm for her cooking before.
"Charred. That actually explains a lot," She nodded sagely, letting go of Jericho to fold her arms across her chest as she continued to nod, "I am great with charred food. Gifted, even." She really shouldn't sound so proud, "You concentrate on your mentoring with Nox, and staying positive, and leave the food catering to me!"

The dragon looked at her curiously, furrowing his brow a bit at her offer.
"You don't have to really," he said. He didn't want to trouble her. Though.. getting food did sound pretty damn nice to say in the very least.
"By the way... have you.. thought about getting a mentor at some point? You're a hob too."

"Oh, don't worry about it! We're family! And family means that nobody is left behind, or forgotten," She grinned, flopping down in front of him, "I heard that from a movie! I really, really like that saying..."
She paused at his question, looking thoughtful as she hummed, "Well... I did think about it... One of the people I initially wanted to approach was mister Hyde, who is the... Uh, school counselor? I mean, I like talking to people, so I thought it fitting. However, I heard that, uh, he employs some very unorthodox methods..." She trailed off, looking sheepish, "So I'm thinking of asking Professor QB to be my mentor... Weird, I know, since he's a member of DETH, and I did have a hand in killing a hunter, but... I'm all for treating non-dangerous, non-hunter humans humanely! I'm a pacifist at heart... But I like to think that I'm not dumb about it." She chuckled weakly, wondering if Jericho would get that reference.

Jericho nodded to her in understanding. He had heard a thing or two bout Hyde... Hell. There were rumors the craziness that happened at Scarentines was his doing. No solid evidence in that regard, but that was what some people were saying really.
"It was for our defense. And you didn't kill him yourself. And you did not turn against the rest of us for that matter too," the dragon snarled. Yes he knew what she was talking about there.

"That was... A pity," She frowned, "I considered him a friend, but now... Thinking about him just makes me frustrated, and a little sad." She sighed, but said nothing else on the issue; it would just cause her more heartache and headache if she continued to think about it.
"Well, apparently he is one difficult man to locate, especially since he's not a full-time Amityville professor," She continued with a shake of her head, smiling sheepishly as she rubbed the back of her neck, "I should probably do his open class more, maybe that'll attract his attention... Oh! Did Nox get you to do anything for him? Since he's your mentor now, and all... I wonder how different each mentor is..."

"It couldn't hurt to run that class. Besides, you might learn something useful from it," Jericho nodded, deciding to not talk about the other topic at hand. It still kind of pissed him off, the way that had happened. It wasn't something he wanted to really think about right now.
"And uh.. sort of. I need to make up a secret code. Apparently all ToT'ers have one. Aside from that, he hasn't 'assigned' me anything else yet."

"Like sparkling?" She giggled, not knowing how close to the truth she really was, "Ohhhh? A secret code?" Her eyes widened, and then she blinked, "That sounds really interesting! Ohhh, you need a code name too!" Yes, she decided that for him, "Like... Trick-or-treater, Very Red Dragon."
She was never good with names.

"... If you think sparkling is useful then.. maybe?" Jericho blinked before finishing up his food. He let out a breath and then set down the plate. At Lizzy's suggestion, he let out a weak laugh before shaking his head.
"Maybe. I'm probably too early in the game to get a code name. I might not get one until I start the actual treater work really."
