At the 'big' comment, the sides of her neck actually cracked open to show a continuing row of teeth down it. "Big, yes. You could say I was even... colossal. Though I do make a rather small sized Colossus.... or even average sized at this point. I am growing into my body still, after all." One day she would see over the trees and have a body of armor.
Ahhh, it would be beautiful, would it not? She half fantasized about it already.
"It is quite nice to meet you proper, Anna and Chaya. Rather than...screaming and giving off rather frightening vibes of my own as it appeared I did." She could have been distressed about it, but it was what she was going for - frightfully big. So that meant she was succeeding.

"I bet being up that high is like flying! You could see everything! ... Though, um, it does make a big mess," Anna added, looking almost guiltily behind her at the trail of smashed trees that led to their current location. Her eyes widened at the mention of small. "That is not small," she said, firmly. "Not even a little bit small."Shibey tilted backwards a little further. < I am not. I am walking. Backwards. That is not the same as running. > He looked towards Anna, as if asking for help (!), but while she had turned to look at Chaya it wasn't because she was worried about her familiar. "Are you new? To the school? I don't... I mean, I don't see lots of people anyway, 'cause I'm kinda... kinda shy but, um. I don't think I've seen you before?"

"Maybe a little bit small," Chaya said. "There are some awfully big things, did you know, I know a ghost named the Bunyip and he's as big as five Suras, it's a good thing he stays intangible or he'd knock half the town over when he moves around. People who aren't ghosts say it gets really cold when he walks over you. I like him, he tells good jokes." "I bet if I chased you you'd run!" Chaya's tail thumped on the ground enthusiastically. To Anna, she said, "I just got here today! I have a room in the ghost dorms, they're under the tombyard!"

A ghost as big as five of her? Wow! Sura seemed to half-swoon over this story that Chaya told her. It was just magical sounding to her, after all. "That sounds almost like my biggest of passed siblings." she said in awe. "The mother-father creature says that he was so tall that he was able to touch the sky and bring its wrath down upon those who stepped into his domain." Sura then stretched out her arms. "Then one of my sisters who ruled over the sky was said to be so long that she stretched from horizon to horizon and could just fly on forever."
If she'd been the kind to kirakira, she would have been doing it right then. But there was an obvious tone of excitement in her voice. She'd found something she loved talking about - the passed siblings.
"I am but a bit bigger than the smallest passed siblings who ran and brought destruction in their wake with the force of their bodies, so I do consider myself rather small. Strong, but small."
Sura had never been to the ghost dorms before, so it seemed to pique her curiosity a bit. "I have never been under the tombyard before. Are they nice? I live over in the monster dorms. I was fortunate to meet a rather nice individual when I was moving in which made my move-in come much easier, so I hope your first day here is proving to be just as helpful to you."

"Past siblings?" Anna looked confused. "What's a pas- oh! Oh... oh, did they die?" she stammered, face turning pink again. < I would not, > Shibey insisted to Chaya, but he took another step back. "O-oh... oh, welcome to Amityville, then, um," Anna added, focusing on the ghost dog. "Though I haven't been there a whole long time myself, really, I mean I guess I have but I don't... have a whole lot to show for it, really... I don't know a whole much. Not that the school's bad! It's not bad at all! But, um, I guess I'm not too good at making friends, and I-I haven't gone on many field trips, so..."

"They sound amazing," Chaya said, her tail thumping the ground more energetically. "Really really big. Did they step on lots of things? Amazing! I like the ghost dorms, they're very nice and lots of mirrors. I don't have lots of things so I just put them in the room and came out for a run because smells." Clearly that was sufficient explanation. "Well, you're friends with us now, right?" she asked Anna. "It's not hard to make friends, you just tell them your name and talk and play and then you're friends. Can I chase your familiar? I really want to chase your familiar," she said hopefully.

"It was said they were slayed." Sura answered. "I did not meet them, and myself and my living siblings are said to only be alive because of their passing." she didn't seem to mind sharing this, open with the facts of her life. "I am told some of them stepped on things, others blasted things, and others took down buildings with the force of their bodies..."
It would have been beautiful to see in her opinion.
"Friends? I think that is a pleasant title, though that is only if you would have me as such a thing." To be honest, she wasn't sure if the 'friend' thing just worked based on introductions. But playing? She wouldn't have mind playing and having fun.

"O-oh... I see." Anna shuffled awkwardly at Sura. "I'm sorry..."Fortunately, the monster moved on to talk about much, much easier things. Anna straightened, relief audible in her voice. "We can... I guess we can do that, huh? Just say 'we're friends' and have it become true?" She looked from Sura to Chaya, trying to figure out if this was legitimate or not. It seemed like it was, though... "I would like that," she added, a little shy. Then she parsed Chaya's last question - and Shibey's glare that was directed not just at the ghost dog but Anna herself - and burst out laughing. "Do you really want to chase him?"< No! > Shibey protested. "Aw, you always say I need exercise... maybe you should get some," Anna said, eyes bright with mischief. Shibey reared back, alarmed; he knew Anna had it in her to be bright and lively, but it had been so long that he had nearly forgotten the possibility. And then the Incubator was gone, heading for the nearest tree.

"They sound awesome!" Chaya said. "I bet someday you're going to destroy just as many things too!" She sounded vicariously pleased; Chaya might not be of a destructive breed herself, but Sura looked like she was enjoying the thought, which was enough for the hound to put it into a category with things that are good. "Okay we're friends now then," she declared cheerfully, and whacked her tail on the ground for emphasis. Friends were also in the category of things that are good. And then Shibey was really running for real running and Anna had given permission and Chaya was up off her haunches in a pale blur after the Incubator, voicing a long, hollow howl as her eyes lit up with delight.

Sura was unaware that the tail-thump against the ground was meant to be a happy gesture, but never the less she mimicked Chaya in that regard, causing the ground to be disrupted by the forcefulness of the gesture.
That was part of what came with being a walking wall, however.
"I think I would like that as well." she confirmed. 'Friends'. Now all she had to do was remember their names. She'd manage that, but probably only after some effort of fumbling them up over and over again, unfortunately.
However, as Shibey went running, Sura seemed to marvel just a bit. "He certainly runs quickly." she noted thoughtfully.

Shibey didn't hiss or bristle or do anything particularly like a cat, other than do his best to jump up the tree. An Incubator was definitely not a cat, and right now the familiar was seriously regretting that lack of the most critical feline features, such as claws to actually climb with. He hurled a wave of irritation at Anna... ... and, for once, Anna found that she didn't care. She didn't care! She was in charge, not Shibey! "D-don't actually hurt him, okay?" she called out, her face turning slightly pink with amusement. "I've never seen him run like that before," she added, turning to Sura. "We, um... usually don't play." Which was true. In fact, usually what happened was she either listened to Shibey and did what he said, or rebelled against him and then everything turned out horrible. ... So far, this didn't seem horrible at all!

Chaya rapidly caught up to Shibey where he was trying ineffectually to scramble up the tree; she pounced on him, an action that probably would have been considerably more uncomfortable if she hadn't gone insubstantial a moment beforehand. Her forepaws passed right through the Incubator with little more than a tickle, and the slurping lick she delivered a moment later was likewise harmless, though it did leave a goopy trail of ectoplasmic saliva in its wake. "Just chasing," she called back cheerfully. "Not hunting."

"I used to run when I was less....." she scratched at a piece of armor growing out of her shoulder, "laden down." There was something that was almost uncomfortable about slowly growing pieces of stone and petrifying. "I am better for heavy lifting than moving quickly." Sura noted, though it probably went without saying that if someone needed some boxes moved she'd probably be the best person to consult with.
Or make demands of. She'd probably handle both rather well.
It was sort of fun to watch others run, however, Sura's tail flicking from side to side as she watched. After a moment, she looked to Anna again. "Would you like to sit down?" she suddenly offered, her tail curling up as a sort of seat. It was certainly as much muscle as the rest of her was - she'd probably handle a small girl like Anna easily with it.
"Is chasing fun, Chaya?" she then asked to the spectral hound.

Shibey's face still looked like OwO, but as Chaya pounced the rest of the Incubator's body language suggested something more like O_O or >_O or even >(. He staggered upright after being thoroughly slimed, staring at Anna. < Unsummon me right now, then summon me again, > he said to Anna alone, mental voice cold as ice. To his complete surprise, his words didn't make her pale - instead, she just finished laughing, then nodded and flicked her fingers. The Incubator vanished, and the ecto-spit fell onto the forest floor with a wet splat. A few second later, Anna repeated the gesture, and Shibey reappeared next to her. "Come on, Shibey, she didn't hurt you," Anna said, with surprising merriment. The Incubator didn't dignify that with a response. "Oh, well," Anna said, her face still flushed from giggling. "What else do you like to chase, Chaya? Maybe a minipet?"At the offer of a seat, Anna looked surprised again, but gratified. "Th-thank you! I don't mind dirt, but... doing laundry is kinda hard," she admitted. smoothing her skirts before taking the offered seat, patting at Sura's tail with her gloved hands. She felt so warm! demon_pachabel ... lemme know if Sura isn't actually warm, and I'll edit if need be XD

"I like chasing," Chaya replied. She sniffed with interest at the spot where Shibey had been a moment ago, then turned around, changing as she did so; a petite humanoid ghoul wearing a minimal outfit and a cream-white pelt straightened up from the spot where the hound had been a moment ago. "I like tracking more than chasing, but I'm not old enough to be picked for a Hunt yet." Luminous red eyes lit up with pleasure at the thought of being in a real Hunt. "Someday I'll be a proper Hound," she sighed happily, wandering over to where Sura and Anna were. She smiled at Anna, showing a mouthful of bright, sharp teeth, though the gesture was far more cheerful than threatening. "I like chasing minis," she answered. "I saw dubbits by the pond, maybe I'll chase them later."
