Sasha was the last person on the island that wanted to make anyone cry, that was for sure. Honestly she couldn't tell if Ami would really cry or not, so perhaps the topic was better left behind for one a little more.. not-about-hair. Or at least nob about cutting hair.
"Why did you grow your hair so long? I mean, it's longer than mine, and I think mine is... well, it's pretty long."
Steer away from the topic of the nightmare, refocus Ami somewhere else. Hair was good. Just not cutting hair.

Ami answered with, "I don't know ... I just always set out to cut my hair and I never make it there." She looked up at the bun sitting on her head."Adam liked my long hair... I guess it just sort of upsets me to cut it."
She sighed and said, "It's about time though right? I don't think I'll ever get a short hairstyle, but a change might be nice ..."
Something occurred to her. "Ah! But ... wait ... is there even a place to get your hair cut on the island?"

That was a really good question.
"I .. you know, honestly I don't even know. I mean.. it doesn't really matter, though - we can leave the island like once a month or something? Go anywhere we want, or so I've heard."
She grinned.
"Where would you go if you could um. If you could go anywhere?"

"Hogwarts," Ami said, not missing a beat. She was dead serious too. "Definitely. Why would you want to go anywhere else?" She was a 20 year old woman who was serious as s**t about her Harry Potter.
It took her a moment to realize that Sasha meant a place with her once-a-month leave. Oops.
Ami scratched her head and said, "Ah I mean ... somewhere to get my hair cut I guess?" Outside of books, Ami wasn't very creative.

"What's a ... where's a Hogwarts?" Sasha looked honestly puzzled. It almost sounded vaguely European, but Sasha wasn't entirely sure.
"I want to go back to France, even for just a little visit." She shrugged and offered a soft smile.
"Have you uh. Have you ever been there?"

Ami didn't know what to do. How could someone on this planet NOT know at least what Harry Potter was? It was unthinkable. An absolute insult. Not only were there countless movies out (she totally cried during the last one), there were also the beautiful works of literature, the books.
To dislike the books was one thing. Ami could barely stand those people, at best. To not even know what they were though? That was just downright cruel and impossible.
"Oh. Well then," was all she could comment at first. She just sort of sat there, not really sure how to communicate with this person now. "I'll ... bring them by later or something for you. I don't know. I think I'm feeling tired again." She didn't. "Yeah, I'm going back to bed."
She slid down back under her covers and turned away from the girl. There was no conversation left to be made.
