Lizzy shook her head, "No! It's alright!" She moved her hand to pat Hel on the shoulder, "Why do things go back to right where they were? I mean... If you know where each other's stand is, regarding certain issues, there would be a lesser chance of getting into a squabble over the same issues, right...? Unless you mean new issues arise..."

“…It is me.” Was all she said. “…Even though I know where he stands, I still want things to be…it is all my doing, bah.” Hel turned her head away, nostrils flaring angrily as she clenched her bottle of soda tightly. “New things arise, things happen and things change…I do not know what more to say other than that it is my entire fault and that I think often he would be better off without me.”
She looked back at the spider demoness. “Do not keep asking me why, it is just how I feel because of everything going on…you are a spider! You should know…webs, ya? Every little thread affects what is going on in the center. You get that, ya? That is what it feels like. Every little thread affects us, for worse right now.”

"Maybe I'm being biased when I say this, but I think saying that is really selfish," She said softly, "It might not seem selfish, it might seem like the right thing to say or do, but... 'If you love something, let it go' does not always apply."
She looked at her bottle, and started to shake it, causing bubbles to form and rise up from the bottom, "They say that a relationship is like trying to mix two things together, and hoping that they can mix. I think it's more like mixing two things together, and letting them still be individuals. Like this soda and the gas in it; it won't taste as nice when it's flat! They compliment each other... I wouldn't want to date a male Lizzy, one Lizzy is enough. Mac is what keeps me grounded, keeps my goals realistic, for example, while I probably dream enough for the both of us."
She paused, "Even in a spider web, every thread that is there makes the web stronger. Some threads have glue on it, to trap insects that land on it, while others do not have glue on it. Only the spider who makes the web knows which thread is which. You and Mot had weaved a web, and the two of you had started to lay down the glue, in the form of issues... You just need to remember which thread has the glue, and which does not. When the web gets old, and the glue is no longer as sticky, and spiders have to make a new web... With new sticky and not-sticky threads. Sometimes old issues get resolved, but there will always be new issues, because Hel is Hel, and Mot is Mot... But Mot often speaks so fondly of you, and I think that the two of you compliment each other. You're to Mot like Mac is to me."
And she spoke so much that she wasn't sure if she even made the point she was trying to make. Everything made sense in her head.

Hel just choked out a laugh. “Ya. Hello Lizzy, I am Hel, perhaps you know me? It is what I am.” Selfish.
The ghoul fell silent though as Lizzy went on to talk, and what she may have been carelessly disregarding herself earlier, but was very much intently listening to the spider ghoul. Now she was kind of mad as well, as Lizzy further went on to use the web metaphor. It worked way too well, especially those parts about some threads having glue and not having glue. Hel wanted to argue that then you just take the threads out that have the glue, you drop then, because the web could still stand without some of the threads, but then she answered her own question. It wouldn’t be a strong web. It’d be a very weak and flimsy one.
Jack damn it.
Hel really hated how well this metaphor worked out. The ghoul scoffed, closing her fingers tighter around her bottle of soda as she grit her teeth. “Compliment each other, huh?” She echoed, dubiously. “I am not so sure, Lizzy. Complimenting...bringing something to the table that the other does not…evening things out…” Her brows furrowed and her cheeks felt hot. She was upset, and apparently it was bothering her even more than she thought it was.
“I think…” She suddenly started, looking at Lizzy and pointing a finger at her. “That maybe what he really needs is a ghoul who is like you, because I have none of those caring and nurturing and patient qualities that you have. I think, he needs a ghoul with those kinds of things, and I do not have those.” She looked away then, her shoulders shaking.

"Air and water does not mix easily, but they find a way," Or there would be a lot of dead fishes in the water right now, "It might not even things out, but I would say... Relationships involve a lot of give and take? Meeting in the middle? Compromising? It's difficult... And I guess some people 'let go' when it gets too tough, too tiring. Mac told me that couples can still get a divorce after getting married, that it's not 'happily ever after'..." She sighed; that bothered her. A lot.
She wanted to get married precisely because she wanted a happily ever after, or at least, a sort of guarantee that Mac would be hers.
"Caring and nurturing and patient... Like a mother?" She poker faced then, because while she called Mot 'big brother', sometimes, she felt like he was the one relying on her instead. She paused, looking at the ghoul, her expression softening as she smiled, "Hel... You really love Mot, don't you? That's why this is vexing you so much."

“Oooh, try wood and fire!” Hel snapped. “Because that is what it feels like, and not in a good way!” Hel scowled, crossing her arms now, tucking her bottle underneath an arm as she looked away. “I am not giving up!” She cried, as if Lizzy had accused her of such a thing, even though she obviously hadn’t, but it was what the reaper was getting from her words. “Old honorable warriors will sometimes say that the best battle is sometimes the one not fought…when letting go is favorable for both sides.” Hel rubbed her face then and immediately deflated. She shouldn’t be yelling at Lizzy. It wasn’t her fault.
She couldn’t help but scowl again though. “No!” She hissed. “He does not need a mother, he needs a companion with those qualities!” The reaper deflated even further though, as she caught sight of Lizzy’s softened expression and then her words. Hel stared down at steel tips of her boots, and hunched forward, resting an elbow on her knee and the cupped her chin with her other hand.
“…Ya.” She murmured after a moment, looking utterly miserable. “I really do.”

"Does that saying work with relationships, you think?" She asked, leaning away a bit when Hel started to rant, and only leaning towards the ghoul again when she had quieten down, "I mean like... Instead of fighting, let go of things that make you both unhappy. Like marriage-" She held up a hand, as if stopping Hel from saying anything if she wanted to say anything, "-for example. You want to get married right now, but he is not ready for a life-altering decision such as that, so let it go. Even if he says yes now, giving way to you, he will not be happy... And you will not be happy."
She paused, frowning a bit, "If you both wait, let him get used to being a boilfriend first, and doing all the boilfriend things, he'll probably end up being a better husband." Patting the ghoul on her shoulder, she smiled, "He loves you too, you know... I bet he's feeling just as vexed as you are."

“Yes, I think it does.” Hel replied, and was about to say something else, until Lizzy preemptively stopped her, and the ghoul huffed as she listened. Throughout Lizzy’s entire spiel, she scowled…but it was true. She knew it was. “Ya…” Hel muttered. “I know he does…and I do not get why…” The ghoul sighed exasperatedly, staring off into the distance as her expression grew more and more agitated as she reflected upon Lizzy’s words thus far.
Another a few moments of silence, the reaper exploded. She leapt up to her feet, standing precariously on the ledge of the Wishing Well as she drew herself into a wind up pose, clutching her empty soda bottle tightly. “EVERYTHING WAS EASIER WHEN I ONLY HAD MYSELF TO SELFISHLY THINK ABOUT!” Hel screamed out into the distance, listening as it echoed, and to complete her angered rant, she chucked the bottle far off into the distance, only a bit satisfied as a few moments later, she heard the shattering of glass.
Hel flopped back onto her bottom then with another exasperated sigh, grabbed another bottle of black cherry soda, popped the cap, and took a swig.

"He probably doesn't understand why you want to get married right now either," She pointed out, looking sheepish, and then surprised, when Hel got up. Her 'surprised' look lasted until Hel was safely seated down again, and for a whole minute, Lizzy said nothing. She just sat there, and stared at her friend.
Then, she finished her drink, and held out the empty bottle for her friend.
"Would you like to smash this one too?" She asked, pausing momentarily, "Do you... Regret ever entering a relationship with Mot then?"

“No one understands why marriage is important to me.” Hel muttered. “Not even my sister.” Damn, that topic sucked. It was supposed to make one happy…and the topic use to make Hel happy when she’d briefly entertain it. Secretly she got the warm fuzzies at imagining herself in a dedicated relationship with someone and making food for her spouse in a cozy little kitchen and…
Now she couldn’t think about it without being saddened. Her little dream felt ruined. She glanced over at Lizzy, and immediately snatched the bottle, taking it and chucking it over her shoulder, listening as it shattered into pieces. She reached into her bag, popped the top of another one, and handed a full one back to the spider demoness. A frown tugged at her lips as she considered the question.
“…No…I do not.” She answered after a moment. “I just regret that I am me…” A wry smile pulled at her lips. “That is all.”

"It's like how I can't understand why Mac doesn't want to shake my hand to seal a deal," She pouted, taking the bottle with a grateful nod, "It's not like I will mark him or anything... I already consider him mine, after all." Insert bashful giggle here.
"Well, he fell in love with you, so you shouldn't regret being you," She took a sip of soda, tilting her head to look at Hel, "I mean... People do change overtime, but their core doesn't? Uh... Mitsu is still Mitsu, even though she's becoming less withdrawn and shy, for example."

Damn it, Lizzy! Stop using logic. It was super effective.
Hel just sighed as she listened to her again, and in all honesty, she was running out of comebacks and steam. The ghoul took another swig of her soda, frowning, and stared off into the distance for a bit before looking back at Lizzy. “Alright.” She murmured. “Enough about me. How are you, Lizzy?”

Lizzy had found Hel's weakness.
"Awww," She balanced her bottle on the well, and threw her arms around Hel, hugging her to cheer her up... But mostly for the sake of hugging, because it had been ages since she last hugged Hel. Besides, Hel was always so warm and soft in all the right places, "I've been fine... Well, could be better, but with everything that had happened lately..."
She trailed off, going silent for a bit, "Oh! Hel! You become a Hob soon, yes?"

Hel blinked as Lizzy suddenly threw her arms around her. The valkyrie only paused for a moment before she wrapped one arm around the ghoul and squeezed her against her body. Lizzy may not have been as soft as she was, but she was cool and Hel did enjoy that. Plus hugs from friends were always welcomed. Always. She still held onto her soda with her other hand.
“Ah…yeah…I hear ya.” She murmured in regards to all the bad things recently, but at her next question, the ghoul nodded. “Ah, yes. On Moonday, I am pretty certain…why?”

She happily scooted a little closer when Hel returned the hug, leaning into her friend, "Oh, I was just wondering! Because a lot of students tend to go looking for a mentor when they are Hobs, so I was wondering if you had anyone, or anything, in mind yet!" She nodded, "It's pretty amazing how time flies."
