Well, maybe not. In his attempt to try and find Fai before Fai found him (which would be incredibly unlikely, but it was an attempt to be less embarrassed about having to be found like a scareling), he settled to looking around the area, seeing nothing but curved trees and---oh ho, a seed! At least this wasn't a complete wast----

That squirrel creature that had grabbed at Fai earlier pounced on the seed he had his eye on, chittering at him in a mocking way before taking off. Sal twitched, promising to skin that creature good when he found it again.

Fai heard his complaint and dismissed it completely. Sal was pouting, which was funny, actually, but this had been Sal's idea in the first place--and there was the squirrel thing that had stolen his seed!! And it was holding another one! "Get back here you!" he snapped, chasing after the squirrel and practically running over Sal. "Oh, so there you are," he said. "Well, then, let's go back to looking, shall we?"

"Hi." Sal said simply, staying lifeless against the tree trunk for a moment longer; getting lost was depressing! Soon enough he pulled himself to his bony feet, dusting off his robes. "I'd rather lea---"
WHAM
A branch smacked Sal in the back of the head, sending him tumbling a few paces forward. Once he gained his footing and turned to see his mysterious attacker another branch shot out, crashing hard into his stomach. Another stumble back, arms wrapped around his middle, blood spurting out of his pale mouth from the sheer force of the impact.
"AUUUGH---DAMNED---TREES!" Sal bellowed breathlessly, falling into a common coughing fit. The next time the tree reared back to hit him he lashed out to try and stop it, managing to tear off a seed in the process.
And then he retreated out of the way of the smashing tree, falling backwards onto his boney butt in his desperation to get away.

Fai was about to save the sage when he caught sight of the squirrel again. "YOU!" he bellowed, summoning his meteor ball and chain. "You're going to be my first dissection subject here!" he said, his razorball lashing out--and missing entirely. "Give me that seed!" He started forward, intent on killing the jacker.

"Once we do not need this place, I suggest we burn it to the ground." The Sage grumbled quietly, mostly to himself. A little vindictive maybe, but that's what he felt. This place would be much nicer in sand, but ash was just as good.

And it got stuck. He looked blankly at the tree it was stuck in, then up, a curious expression on his face. "I'll be right back, then," he called to Sal, heading for the tree to climb it--this time he kept his weapon summoned--and managed to catch on one of the branches as he plummeted towards the ground with his seed in hand. He dropped down, using his chain as a rope, and desummoned it. "That makes two for me," he said.

Luckily, his efforts weren't in vain; clasped in his hand was a new seed. His second one.
"I think four is enough. Lets get out of here." The calm, cool and collected comment hung in the air for a moment. "Now." And there it was, all of his seething in one tiny word of a demand. He didn't even wait for Fai, he just turned and left, hoping to get the right direction.

"Fine, fine," Fai said, scowling and looking back at the tree. "But I would like to remember this spot. I'm sure precious is going to be angry at me for losing its dinner." He pocketed his second seed and headed out, unconsciously taking the lead since they were in more his domain than Sal's. Not that he was any more used to trees than the other male--but they WERE plants.
"I do hope the War clansmen know what to do with seeds, otherwise this was a pure waste of time."

Fai's unconscious move to take the lead wasn't refuted or questioned; Sal knew that Fai was the better of the two when it came to anything plant related. Plus, he was less likely to get lost if he could actually see Fai in front of him. He didn't mind, didn't care, and just wanted out.
"Yes. And then we burn it." He grumbled to himself under his breath; maybe not the whole weeping forest now; just the ones that wronged him would do. Hopefully War would get a better hold on their plant life, teach them some manners perhaps? That would be nice.
The Sage sighed heavily, rubbing his temples to let go of his frustrations, and suddenly they were gone, allowing him to deal with the War Clanswoman with that tolerating smile of his.
