Giving a quick nod, "My brother is a lot like my father in that regard..." With her voice trailing off, her face fell somewhat. A long drawn-out sigh came from her lips. "I'm sorry. I do know what it is like to also have a brother who is hated..." Her eyes glazed over thinking about Zev. "My first brother... Zev.. He was our oldest. Half brother to me. He was... led down a very dark path in life. He tried to kill my mother. She has never forgiven him. Sometimes I think I am the only one who has forgiven him for what he's done to us." The truth was, Meleena had forgiven her brother because she knew what it was like to have that dark energy pulling constantly at your soul. Her two younger siblings were free from it, and her older sister had long ago forsaken her darkness. However, Meleena would always remember what it was like to feel abandoned and how it was like to be pulled into a place you didn't want to be. She felt sorry for Zev to go through it with absolutely no family there to help.
Twisting her head toward the sky, her features softened somewhat at the mention of the stars. "They do tend to guide the wandering spirits." Shifting to glance at the mare again, "I suppose that is the way to put it. My family and I wandered. I was the first to come here, alone, scared.. I must admit. And these lands somehow called us to them. There is a magical presence here and I think that the moon shines all the more brightly here then anywhere else in all the land." Maybe that was part to do with her family, she wasn't quite sure. However, it seemed wherever else she went that the moon paled in comparison.
