The sabeleye was badly paralysised, and Odin had gotten over his confusion, now was the time to attack

Spinel yelped as Odin smashed into him painfully.
"It's OK, Spinel, you can do this! Try Faint Attack again!" Lyle called.
His Sableye tried to stretch his muscles loose before rushing at Odin again.

Spinel cramped up and fell flat on his face, just in time to get hit again.
"Keep at it, Spinel! You can do this!" Lyle encouraged. At least, he hoped Spinel could.

Spinel was starting to feel a little more limber, but he was still jerky from paralysis. And Odin's blows hurt!
"Keep trying, Spinel, you'll get him sometime!" Lyle said. He fervently hoped so, anyway.
So Spinel tried for another Faint Attack, pushing himself to keep moving.

Finally, Spinel started to move more easily again. Just in time to dodge out of the way of Odin's next attack. He flashed a cheeky grin at the pup, just to prove he wasn't out for the count yet.
Now, Lyle though over his next move. Try another Confuse Ray? Go straight for damage? He needed an edge so he decided to take a chance. "Another Confuse Ray!"
Spinel stared at Odin, his grin widening eerily as his eyes flashed.

Lyle signed as Spinel grew stiff again. "OK, back to Faint Attack," he instructed. He'd rather have a slightly better chance of hitting.
Spinel tried to deliver the attack. He did not like being so stiff!
