His flank was giving as the buck gave another charge. D'mitri had scratches and cuts all over his neck, chest, and legs with a few on his face. His horn, as small as it was, managed to cut at the throat of the Buck. It wasn't deep, but he could see that it was affecting how the animal charged and aimed his dangerous set of weapons. D'mitri snorted dancing around the buck as it charged. The stallion whirled around to head butt the beast in the back. A sickening crack could be heard as the animal started to limp, it's back hip torn out of place. D'mitri gave a grunt heaving and breathing heavily, his heart beating wildly in his chest. The buck limped along facing the stallion as if knowing he had been matched. The two simply stared at each other both on the brink of exhaustion. D'mitri reared up on his leg and pawed at the air in a defiant show of domination as he cried out loudly in a war cry baring teeth and slightly extending his wings to make himself look bigger. The stallion landed with a loud and large thud glaring at the buck. The stallion was determined not to show weakness for he was the ultimate predator. The buck would damn sure fall before he did.

That was the crack Kessling had been waiting for. The buck was all but immobilized and drunkenly staring at D'mitri due to blood loss and injury. She calmly and quietly stepped out of the forest and gently nuzzled along the buck's neck before clamping down on the cut, thus closing the wind pipe. The buck to his credit did struggle but nothing she could not handle now. His bleating cries wavered, he was a magnificent powerful animal. However he had chosen the wrong pair to mess with. She would have to try and fix D'mitri's wounds after this. Thankfully after living in the forest she was familiar with the more helpful plants. Thank Hyak. She glanced and the blood soaked boy and smiled. The buck so weakened he could no longer stand toppled over sideways. for which she was grateful as he did not kneel and make her position difficult.

She released him after the last twitch, blood adorning her mouth as she had fed while he was loosing strength. It meant a faster demise for him as well as
now D'mitri could eat his fill. While she hunted good plants around the glade.

"Thank you," she said. "And I'm sorry, I should have known he would have been in ambush, but I thought he was out romancing some rogue doe."

D'mitri gave a brief snort as he suddenly noticed Kessling coming up to the buck. He was about to charge forward in case the animal had any ideas to attack her, but the mare surprised him. Her massive fangs sunk into the beast and he did in fact try to fight, but D'mitri had weakened him enough to let Kessling finish the buck off. His wings relaxed falling a little against the ground as he watched the huntress take down the prey. It surprised and exhilarated him all at the same time.

He came forward as the battle was over, his leg slightly held up as he did his best not to limp nor put too much effort on it. His nostrils flared a little taking in the scent of blood mixed in with hers. It intoxicated him and awakened things in him that...well that he never felt before. At his apology he immediately shook his head watching her as he walked around. "No. Am fine. No sorry." He gave her a bit of a grin flashing his teeth. "No harm come to Kess..." D'mitri looked down at the kill then back to her. "Eat...with me?" He flicked his head to move his hair to get a better look at her, his eyes studying her frame. She was so gorgeous...so dark...so predatory...so...perfect...

What's wrong with him?
PostPosted: Wed May 02, 2012 7:49 pm

"I um well... I kinda fed already, while he was going down. I don't want to suck all the juice out for you." She grinned. "He might be a bit tasteless then." She curled her lip. "I wouldn't want to ruin such a hard won meal."

Her eyes widened at his leg. "Stay here I'll be right back." The dark mare left to root around in the surrounding foliage. She searched for a certain star leaved plant and upon finding it. She grabbed the stem and leaned back on her hind quarters pulling. The stem snapped in the right spot and she landed on her bottom.. slightly smug at that. These plants were hard to get out of the ground.

She trotted back over to Demi and proceeded to mash the thing underneath her hooves. She dipped her head down and got some paste to smear on her nose. She stared up at the giant lovely creature before her. "This will sting but only for a few seconds then it will numb and feel better." She leaned forward and gently rubbed it off on his leg.

His head tilted as she mentioned she had already eaten. Strange...she ate by sucking out the blood? His ears flicked a little as he leaned over to start to eat. Indeed she was a blood sucker for the meat wasn't as juicy had it had more blood, but the mare did in fact leave enough for him to scarf down the food. His ears twitched a little as his eyes followed her. She was a strange creature, but he did in fact enjoy her company.

As she came back into view, he raised his leg a little and his wing in order to let her see it. The blood for the most part had started to clot but it was still a deep gash that would risk infection. He braced himself due to her warning but found that it only stung for a brief moment like she said. He gave a bit of a snort watching her treat him. "First time...anyone...did that." D'mitri gave a bit of a snort as he leaned forward and wrapped his neck around hers in a form of a hug. "Thank you, Kessling..." His voice was soft and small as he held onto her close, his wings wrapping around the both of them, his eyes closing as he took in her scent. For once in his life, D'mitri felt safe.

Despite her concerns D'mitri was an excellent patient. Even moving his wing so she could get at it. She smeared it into the cut as best she could. She had just raised her head to survey her handiwork, when he hugged her. He was so warm and she was all tingly so soon after a feeding. It felt like he was all over...oh eheh wings. It felt good to be held like this. No other ever had before so she guessed it was a first for both of them. If she could have she would have been bright red.. a happy red but still very red.

He was a really really big azrein and the fact that he had chosen to hug her even in thanks had her mind whirring. Somehow he didn't seem the type that would just hug anyone. She must have done something right. But really she had finally gotten to be just herself with someone. She always hid her otherness from Serenity and Dea. Al was fine with it but he was usually with Dea so Kessling had kept her drinking habits and her talents with bush plants to herself. Right here right now she was accepted for it and even thanked. That gave her a high almost as good as the blood. Add the male and she was in big big trouble.

"Your quite welcome. Did you have your fill already? Does anywhere else hurt?" She leaned into the hug. It was new and she liked it.

The stallion gave a bit of a grunt holding into her for a little while longer before he let her go, his wings carefully unfurling around her frame save for one wing that he had draped over her frame. His eyes gazed into hers for a brief moment that seemed to last forever before turning away, his gaze falling somewhere else other than her. If he stared too much longer he'd never want to let her go. D'mitri had never been so at peace before. He had finally let all of his walls down and this female accepted him for everything he was - a beast.

D'mitri gave a brief grunt staring over at their hard won carcass. He leaned forward and began to eat again as he gave into his carnal desires...well at least one of them. He could often times keep the others in check if he concentrated on one. His wing kept on her frame keeping her close as he ate as if making it clear that he was with her....protectively of course. D'mitri didn't have the hear to claim anyone as his. What for? To be stuck with something like him would probably be some sort of hell for most.

But this mare wasn't like most. And if he ever saw her again, he'd give her the chance to make her own decisions. He didn't want to hold her back, but he wouldn't be opposed to her staying either. As he ate, the male lifted his head to look over at her flashing a bloody smile. "What now?" D'mitri managed to save between gulps looking down at the torn apart and mutilated carcass, blood smeared all over his snout and chin.

"Hmm I'm not sure, I think its pretty much done." Kessling cocked her head at the heavily ravaged carcass. "How long does something like that last you?" She asked curiously. "I'll be content for three days myself after such a large feed. And for the fisrt day I'll be full of energy but a bit sloshy." She grinned. Snugged up against him as she was she was quite warm which was a nice change. She sighed with contentment. It was nice to meet new azrein, azrein who did not crinkle their noses at her..ahem drinking habits, someone she could share a meal with peaceably, and who could actively hunt with her.

"What do you do on a calm day? Im afraid my flying skills are a tad rusty." She grinned cheekily at him. Of course she could not fly but she did want to see what he looked like when he laughed. He had these lovely eyes that she bet just sparkled like crazy when he was happy.

She would definitely have to tell her chosen about this one. They usually didn't have much to talk about between themselves as they lived so close to each other. But this boy was definitely news. Big news. She wiggled a little in anticipation.

D'mitri had to think at her question, his mind roaming as to how long he went without needing to feed after such a large meal. He grunted and shook hi head. "Two nights..at most." The stallion gave her a cheeky grin and nodded his head at his body. He was a large brute and most of his energy was spent flying. He ate when he could for the most part and as often as he could D'mitri could last a while without eating, but he preferred not to. As she snuggled closer, he kept his wing around her a little tighter nudging some of her mane from her face. She was indeed quite comfortable around him and the stallion had grown to be comfortable around her. She was quite the beauty and he honestly wouldn't want to let her go if he had it his way.

He looked at her confused for a while tilting his head. "Kess can't fly...no wings." He motioned toward his own large ones as he gave a grunt shaking his head. The mare's joke went way over his head, but he still found her little comments cute. "I fly...I fly until I grow tired. Then I land, sleep, and hunt. If day is good, I fly again. If day is bad, I walk or stay in shelter." D'mitri gave a grunt feeling his skin quiver each time she touched and cuddled up to him. His tail flicked a little feeling it brush against her rump, legs, and her own tail. The male stretched his neck a little to get a better look at her. "Something on Kess mind?" He asked her, his green eyes watching her intently.
PostPosted: Wed May 09, 2012 6:24 pm

"She shivered a bit as his long silky tail brushed over her body. He was magnificent and...cute. "No I can't fly," she laughed. "But it is nice to watch you do it."

She gave him a look. "Yes there is something on my mind how very quick of you. I was thinking about my chosen. A thought to my location has probably passed his mind by now. Well perhaps between Dea and Serenity also inquiring as to my wherabouts I think he may be mildly concerned." Her chosen rarely overeacted ... most of the time. "I should go back soon. Walk me to the edge of the forest." She glanced at his wounds. "Will you be okay on your own tonight? I could perhaps stay the night and leave on the morrow." Truth be told she didn't want to leave. And as to taking him with her. Al would be fine with his visit. But Dea and Serenity may be a tad intimidated and she didn't want to expose this beautiful creature to that kind of criticism. He didn't deserve it. Or they may be perfectly fine with him. But until she was sure D'mitri could handle it she wouldn't chance it. He was too fragile... in a huge winged draconic warrior way. Perhaps she could bring Alddrion on a walk to meet her friend if he assented. "Perhaps you and my chosen could meet sometime?" she asked tentatively. "He is really easy going. Not at all intimidated by my own eating habits so I am sure he would be completely fine with yours." She smiled. "He is kinda fierce when he eats too." She giggled at her chosens somewhat absent table manners in the absense of his wife.

He gave a bit of a grin nudging her cheek with a gentle touch of his nose. "Then I fly...only for you..."

The next bit confused him but he knew what was coming. He swallowed hard flicking his ears back before quickly righting them. He hadn't known that this female had a human chosen, but the funny thing is that didn't bother him. What bothered him was their connection. She had a male that felt deeper for her than D'mitri could ever fathom or hope to achieve. He took in a breath looking back to his injured leg. He had almost completely forgotten about it save for when she mentioned if he could walk. He flashed her a force grin, "Of course." He gave a nod motioning her to walk onward. "Have stayed with self for a long time...Go home, Kess." He nudged her hair from her face gently. At her next question, he gave a shrug. D'mitri had met one chosen before who was blind, and she wasn't so bad. He figured maybe Kessling was trying to break the ice into her family. He couldn't deny her her connection to what she knew and what she was used to. The most he could try is to integrate into her society and her life if he had any chance at getting with her. "Let's get Kess home.." He grunted following her as they started to trek toward the forest walking boldly. Even if his leg did indeed hurt, the stallion refused to put less pressure on it. Rather concentrate on one pain rather than another. D'mitri knew that these feelings were quite selfish of him, but he couldn't help it. This was the first time a female had ever come into his domain unscathed by his appearance and actually wanted to stay in his company. It was the first time he had anyone look at him with a sense of awe and compassion...maybe even more that he dare not think about. Why shouldn't he be selfish? Why shouldn't he not want her to go home? But she belonged to another - a human chosen. Someone else who could delve deeper into her very core and be one with her. Bonded were like that. They gave a love nobody else could. So why would D'mitri try? As he glanced down at the mare he realized it was because he wanted to. Every fiber in his being wanted to. And seeing her alive and smiling was enough for him. Even if he all he had to do was fly. He'd fly forever for his Kessling...forever. The stallion had become so enriched in thought he had forgotten about both pains at once with the sense of his conviction.

Kessling rolled those words in her head over and over again. He flew only for her. This admission spoke more to her then any sonnet. It awoke something primal in her that she had never felt before. Not need, lust or want. Something that flowed with tides and waves, curling deep under all the layers.

His next words scared her, "Go home Kess" immediately she was molified by the nudge. His breathe smelled of blood and she felt the recently slaked thirst flare for a moment. She had spoken of leaving but now she wanted to stay wherever he was. He drew hwer not only with gravity but with something akin to ...what? She had no name for it. No words would congugate or morph deeply enough to directly speak of what she felt.

"Lets go home Kess." She sighed in gratitude. She had felt emotions before, "lonely", "joy", "happiness", the wholesome bond one felt with one's chosen. But never something so overwhelming or of such magnitude then what she felt for D'mitri. Perhaps she would have to ask Alddrion about it later surely there was some information on this somewhere then again perhaps she would have to write the book.

Kessling walked in a bit of an excited daze. Yes he had followed her from the thick woods. She had held her breathe when they had actually crossed the threshold of the transient perimeter of the trees to open ground but on they went. Soon they began passing humans. Strangers to Kessling they still made her quite nervous and she walked rather close to Demi as they walked up cobblestone paths. Their hooves clicking with resounding rings, they were hard not to notice. She had much preferred the wider game trails of woodlands then the broad expanse of locked stones. Soon she came upon familiar streets and she arrowed to the man who had come out to meet her...them.

The man with the blazing halo of red hair was tall and heavily muscled. He was also covered in scars from the bridge of his nose to the tops of his feet. They flicked and crisscrossed over his face and permeated nearly every inch of flesh showing.

"Kessling." He rumbled and threw his arms around her gently curving neck in a hug. "I could feel your agitation but the emotion before that befuddled me." He screwed up his face into such a look that she simply had to laugh.

Then the man's eyes fell upon D'mitri. "What a gorgeous lad you are." He said gently and sincerely. He gave Kessling a sly look. He now had some idea of what that feeling must have been earlier. He had picked it up rather strongly through the bond and had almost dropped the dish he had been washing. "My brother would love the look of you, "handsome one."" Al smiled. He then noticed a few drops of red on the paving stones. "What has Kess got you into? Come now you two, lets finish that patch job." Al could sense that this male was important. Kess would not just bring anyone home. He bowed deeply to the newcomer, he knew the position left him vulnerable but he even went a step further after the bow and upon rising tilted his head back. Exposing his throat. This was significant among those of their family with vampire azrein although none until now had ever had cause to do it. He was showing D'mitri that he trusted him in a deep and ancient way.

Kessling nodded proud of her chosen. She retired to thier courtyard, Alddrion following after her. Kess was exstatic to have D'mitri here. And now that her chosen had approved she would gladly go back with D'mitri to his forest if he was uncomfortable with staying here.

The trip was...strange for D'mitri. He had wanted to hesitate and stop at the forest line, but his body told him to keep going. He braved forward keeping one wing under the Dark Beauty as they went, his ears perked forward and eyes watching curiously. As his gaze fell on humans, he felt himself feel vulnerable. It took all of the stallion's strength not to take to the air, but Kessling's constant presence and her smell kept him relaxed. Even his leg was starting to feel just a big better. It seemed that Kess was just as nervous around humans as well which made him feel just a smidge bit better. At least he wasn't alone in that regard.

Their stroll through the cobble streets was...strange. There were murmurs and whispers of the two azrein making their way through the streets. He realized some were used to seeing Kessling but with her bringing in another that was even more frightful than she...He gave a grunt holding the mare close to him as if daring for any to come by. It was only when they turned toward a man that he let her go.

Her chosen was...battle hardened it appeared. He was tall, burly, and much like what D'mitri would probably had looked if he were human - just not as confident. Her laughter made him smile a little as he gave them their moment before his head turned to look at the male who addressed him. The word "gorgeous" had never been used in a sentence describing D'mitri before as he tilted his head in curiosity. It was when the human had bowed and then exposed his throat that D'mitri gained a sort of understand...and respect for the human. The azrein mirrored the human male's actions as if to reiterate what he was saying to the stallion. This male was important to Kessling and it would be of D'mitri's best interest in order to further understand her world if he were to be in it. At the exclamation of his leg, D'mitri looked back to see before giving a grunt. "Kess...has done nothing. My fault." He nudged the mare's rump gently in affection and careful of his nose horn so as to not cause damage on accident. He watched her and her bonded go before he came forward following them to her home. His green eyes took in everything silently, his wings tucking themselves closer to his body so as to not disturb anything. Even his steps were lighter and done with a purpose. "She made wound stop." He offered toward Al, ears flicking forward for a moment.

"Yes and she did a bang up good job too." Al conceded. "Just a bit of bandage and the rest of it will buck up quickly. What did you two tangle with a bear?"

"No twas a great bull elk, very tastey, pity you missed it." Kessling teased. "D'mitri fought valiently and together we finished the beastie."

"Ahhh, I have always been fond of elk meat." Al sighed with longing. Kess flicked her tail in his face. "The here and now if you please Al. You were talking about bandages were you not?"

"Ah yes, right...where are they kept again? She is always moving things."

"They are in the cupboard down and to the left of the sink."

"Right." Al grinned and went off to get them. A black shaggy, white footed dog padded out and sat before them a big canine grin on its happy face.

Kess made a pained but toloerant face. "Where did you come from? Al adopt you too?"

In answer the dog simply sat and panted while Kess gave it a flat look. "It ain't sleeping with me, you can stay in Al's bed. I prefer the cat." She said companionably to Demi. "She purrs and drools less."

D'mitri tilted his head a little just about to answer the male's question when Kessling did it for him. He gave her a playful grunt as if in jest of taking his time to speak. But in all reality, having Kessling there eased him more than he could say. The interaction between the two was comical and D'mitri couldn't help but give a chuckle of interest. Kessling was such a cunning thing and Al took it with such grace that it made him wonder how he could fit into this...family thing they had. "...She?" D'mitri turned to look at Kessling as Al disappeared to get the bandages. He was guessing that Al was mated but he didn't want to assume too much. Just then he turned just as the mare did to face the black dog. D'mitri tilted his head craning his neck forward to take in a breath before he sneezed and snorted rearing his head back. It smelled strange to him, but not too foreign. It was when the female mentioned something about a cat did he perk his head to look toward her in question. "C-Cat...?" He tilted his head as if trying to understand turning toward the other animal inquisitively. That couldn't be the cat since Kessling said she preferred the cat than to this beast. D'mitri shook his head a little still trying to figure things out in his mind. Eventually he gave Kessling a look as if to get him to help her out with all this going around him while they waited for Al to come back.
