Essa was starting to see the damage the bird was dealing onto Mist, but she had to keep going, if she can just paralyse it then hope will be back again

The Pidgeot felt his wings seize up and quickly landed before his body stopped moving. The paralysis was weak, but it would be a moment before he could attack again.
"You're alright boy, just wait it out. You're doing great!" Sienna comforted and encouraged her pokemon. The sparks were fizzling away, fewer and fewer already.

The Pidgeot felt the paralysis lifting...And then, zap! It was back again. Ughhhh. He lay on the plain concret field like a Thanksgiving turkey. This time the paralysis was a liiiitle bit stronger.
Sienna frowned. Her poor bird. He could take it at least, she though. "Good thing we raised your defense eh? Hang in there for just a little bit longer Frey!"

The bird had raised its defense, whilst mist has a raised attack so they cancel each other out. Good thing thunder hits birds hard, again Sparks flew out of Mist towards the bird

Frey's feathers fried as the Charge Beam struck him dead on, and hard. It really was a good thing they had raised his defense.

The Pidgeot was just about to wiggle forward when BAM another hit. They were getting stronger.
Damn. There was no way he was going to move, and she had used up all four of his moves for the battle. No getting out of this any time soon.
