"I-it's very nice to meet you as well." Lacie offered a tentative greeting, her face still a bit nervous. She wasn't yet smiling, but it was undoubtedly due to her shyness when meeting new people. "I am Lacie." She introduced herself in a quiet voice, it was barely audible to those unless they were close to her.

Her attention was caught by the entrance of another into the temple. Lacie couldn't help but notice the confidence with which he walked with into the temple. He was.. one of the four horsemen, wasn't he? She had seen him before. She wanted to ask him if he was all right. But his expression was.. Lacie couldn't tell. But then again, all of the horsemen were a little .. odd. Not that Lacie saw anything wrong with it.

She held one hand nervously to her chest, looking about, before bowing respectfully to him.

Invictus bowed his head back towards both of them, noticing their attentions easily. It was something one did when they got so much of it. While yes, he could have steeled himself to it and ignored them, that would have been impolite to their... guests.

"Are you enjoying a last day here on our island?" he asked, his voice calm.

'My apologies, your Highness, if we intruded when you needed time in solitude, but since my training here I feel the Isle of Conquest is the most becoming and inspiring place', Wylfenne answered. Strangely enough, they were telling the truth - if anything in the Clans Isles could be called dear to them, that would certainly be the Isle of Conquest.

She hadn't expected a reply from such an important figure. The reaper would have been satisfied merely making her greetings. Any sort of reply only reminded the reaper of her rank among these islands. But he was kind enough to do so.. so Lacie tried to summon up her courage to reply in a respectful manner. "Very much so." Lacie carefully replied.

There were several strange occurrences in the temple, but perhaps, Lacie had been imagining it. She looked to the side, where Invictus has once looked at. The statues, was it?

While the other guest student spoke, Lacie was preoccupied with the statues. How would the heir see it? Much more than Lacie, who was so woefully ignorant. "I apologize. I'm afraid we interrupted your thoughts."

Invictus was one who, while growing up in a very high status, did not really believe in treating others as anything but their own actions merited. So that he had addressed the pair would not have been considered strange from his track record.

"Not at all. I was merely paying my respects to my father in his absence." he explained. "I like to think that perhaps someday I will be as wise and strong as he is."

'It would anyway be one of the cherished memories for us, that we were taught by his Highness the Heir of the Conquest Clan', Wylfenne bowed again. After all, coming from a setting where hierarchy was considered the only possible way of doing this in a society, they found nothing wrong in making it known that they understand the high social status of their interlocutor. Royalty is royalty, that was just the way of things. Besides, they liked the Heir's classes - even if their mixture was never right. 'Today is an important day for the clans, isn't it. Hope we're not too much of a nuisance'.

They smiled encouragingly to the other student.

She looked up at the statue, never having thought that they would entertain the same hopes and dreams. The four horsemen was already so very strong, Lacie believed. They were able to do things that the reaper had never dreamed of doing.

But to hear Invictus speak, Lacie almost felt like they could be acquaintances.. Not that Lacie would ever deign herself to be a friend.

"I believe that you can be." Her voice rung with faith in Invictus. As far as she had seen of his character, as long as he had the dream and ambition to do so, then he would succeed. "Perhaps you will even surpass him." She smiled at him. Maybe it was presumptious of her to do so since she had never met his father. H-Had she said too much?

Lacing her hands behind her back, she lifted her gaze to look at Invictus's father's statue. If she had to speak truthfully, Lacie envied the horseman for having such a tight grasp of a goal he wanted to achieve. Right now, Lacie couldn't say what she wanted to do. She was such a silly and indecisive student.

And she could only accompany the other student's words with a nervous look. His entirely formal way of speaking was impressive, but Lacie couldn't really understand. Or say anything to compliment it. She was ... actually inept at that.

Invictus shook his head.

"It is not your fault that you must remain here while antiquity is consulted with and adhered to." he answered. "I imagine it is far more of a nuisance to students who were already eager to head home and be away from that of us heirs." he answered. "Yes, it is quite cumbersome indeed, I would imagine."

Though he spoke from experience. So long he'd wanted to return to that very island just to be tormented by being unable to do so.

"I would like it if that were to come to pass. But I will have to work hard until then. However, I do appreciate the encouragement. Thank you."

She probably hadn't succeeded in saying anything other than what the heir had already heard. Still, she wished for his success. If that were to be in a few months, a few years, or twenty years from now, Lacie wanted to see the outcome.

When he spoke again, she tilted her head, wondering if he was speaking of them.. or himself? No, he must have been speaking of them. Lacie was often mistaken; her friends would probably agree.

His worries of their inconvenience had the reaper waving her hands . "No, not at all! Please don't think of it as any trouble at all, and don't worry yourself." She reassured the young heir. It was enough that they had allowed the students a chance to visit their islands and teach them. Indeed. She couldn't have asked for anything more! She didn't mind staying here for a day longer, finding it vastly exciting to explore what she hadn't yet explored.

"Your clan's temple is lovely." She scampered off a few steps, spinning around to look at the two males. Her long silver hair followed after. "Indeed!" Not to mention the flowing, intricate titles, along with the large statues. Although she looked .. incredible small in comparison to everything around them. And since she was even shorter than the two males and Aurian, yes, it was a little odd.

Wylfenne felt it in the edge of the Prince's voice that he had some troubled thoughts... or memories he didn't want to share with anyone. Much as they sympathised with Invictus, they understood it clearly that for him they were intruders and a burden, so they bowed, accepting his polished manners, and hastened to reassure him.

'It is a great honour for us to stay here. We are lucky to have a chance to learn more of your way of life, a chance we couldn't even dream of'.

When Lacie praised the temple, Wylfenne suddenly remembered their adventures in the hidden room, and blushed. Hopeful that the Heir had not noticed it (or had thought that the reason was different), they added in a muffed voice:
'The carvings are exquisite, as everything made by the Clan'. Your land can boast of the best artisans my eyes have ever seen'.

"I suppose that's true," Aurian admitted, after considering Wylfenne's words. Maybe there was no reason for an ambassador to care what students thought of him. He must have nicer to the teachers, though, or Aurian couldn't see them not feeding him to Hellma or something.

Aurian looked up when her name was called. Spying Lacie, she waved eagerly to the other Reaper. "Hi! No, it's fine, we're just making new friends." That was always a fun thing to do. The more the merrier, right? Aurian beamed when Wylfenne confirmed that Lacie was welcome to join them.

It was rather embarrassing to admit, but it took Aurian quite some time to realise who the short young Clansman was. Aisa had been the first Heir Aurian had met - she would have expected someone equally as imposing for Conquest's Heir. She blushed and felt bad for judging.

Invictus' words had her nodding along. Aurian also often wondered if she could live up to the things the school expected of her. It was hard when she compared yourself to others around you and felt sorely lacking. And it was probably much more important for an Heir to be strong and perfect.

Swinging her gaze back and forth between the other two ghouls, Aurian mimicked the bows they used to greet the Heir. "Yes, thank you," she replied when he asked if they were enjoying the island. "Everything is so lovely. This is only the third island I've visited, but it's the prettiest by far."

She smiled, trying to force a state of calm over her nerves, as Lacie and Wylfenne gave their encouragements. "I'm sure you will. Working hard doesn't seem to be a problem for anyone in the Four Clans. You're all very impressive."

"The challenge, I think, is not in working hard, but working hard in a way that looks effortless and is aesthetically pleasing. If you were ever to get the opportunity to see the craft of His Imperial Majesty's hand, you would perhaps understand what it is that compels me to strive so eagerly towards such an end."

Yes. It was something that even as he watched his father had been something that had driven him nearly mad to try and replicate. Hours and hours over something as simple as how to hold the brush, the cup of tea, such things that were so menial to those who had visited the island.

"However, it is nice when such things can be appreciated." he seemed content with how respectful his current company was being in the unideal situation. "Sometimes it is just as nice to sit outside and enjoy the blossoming of the trees when the season is right. Yes, nature has a way of being far more skilled of an artisan than we are. All we can do is try to enhance what it has already given us."

The first smile graced his lips then.

"Though that is something that could be said about us as well."

A distance away from all three of her companions, Lacie was very nearly outside. She momentarily disappeared from the conversation, Lacie rounding around the corner, to outside, spotting several flowers growing near one of the sidewalks. Kneeling down, she picked them up carefully. When she was done, she looked around for them, still finding them in the same place. She came back with one for each of them. Coming back to them, she held out her hand and waited for them to hold out theirs. She handed one to Aurian, to Wylfenne, and to Invictus. Each one was a little different. It wasn't as beautiful or striking as say, a rose. One could probably attain it anywhere in the war isle. But nevertheless, it was a flower beautiful in its simplicity.

"Nature is indeed very wonderful." Closing her eyes, she liked Conquest's words very much.

"You don't have to rush. Do things at your own pace. And eventually, we'll all reach our goals."

Wylfenne was pleased and flushed when presented with a flower. 'Thank you', they said seriously. 'You shamed me for saying so many words. We say back home, that a flower does not speak. I am happy you reminded me of it'.

They turned to the Heir, 'We also say, that the nature's beauty is a magnifying glass of oneself. So, if you esteems beauty so highly, its goals are pure, and above all reproach. I wish you to succeed'.
