Cold Rain Kiasa x Sarpati Aps x Mouse Started September 25th, 2012
Kiasa: The rain was coming down rather heavily. Kiasa couldn't help but blink the water out of her eyes. Her fur was soaked down to the skin and she could feel that if she didn't find a dry place soon she could come down with a cold. The ground underneath her paws was becoming slick with mud and she had already fallen a couple times. She looked a mess from her ears down to her paws. Even her magic wasn't enough to completely stop the water from drenching everything.
Shivering, she wrapped her arms around herself, her eyes looking to and fro for any sign of shelter. It was then that she saw the castle. It looked almost abandoned, and well, a little creepy. But she figured she could at least take some refuge there, right?
Making her trek up a hill, she slipped a couple times, adding more mud to her white fur. It made her look almost a dingy brown color instead. She finally reached the door and swung it open. A loud creek could be heard as it scraped against the stone ground. It was cold but her paws were already frozen so she hardly noticed. "Hello? Is anyone here?" She stuck her head inside, not wanting to come in too much further uninvited.
Sarpati: Ah, rain. So very needed after the latest dry spell the land had gone through. The only problem now was the mud everywhere, it had been dry for too long and some of the foliage had died. Sarpati sat in a chair of his own creation, watching over the land as the storm went on. Kind of like watching grass grow, but he was bored of that after the first few hundred times he had done it. Storms were chaotic and regenerative and each one was different. Similar, perhaps, but pleasantly unique.
The only downside was the wind, or maybe it was just bad up at the top of his castle, it was hard to tell if it was the same on the ground. He hoped not, so many poor creatures would probably be huddled together in their burrows for warmth and safety, it would certainly be a mistake to be out in this weather for very long...
His ears perked up at the sound of something downstairs, and then...a voice? He hadn't quite understood what was said, the echo through the atrium rendered it too garbled and distorted, but someone was here. In his castle. He blinked for a moment, stretching as he got out of his chair, unraveling it behind him as he walked to one of the archways overlooking the atrium. Peering down into the bottom floor, he didn't see anyone, but he had heard...something... He called out to the atrium, which was soaking wet due to the lack of a roof over it, wondering if there really was someone there. "Hello? Is someone there?"
Kiasa: -After calling out a couple times and not hearing a reply, her made her way further into the doors to seek shelter from the falling rain. Her whole body quaked in a shiver and she wrapped her paws around herself to try to reserve her heat. After a moment or two, she finally heard a voice. So there was someone here after all! Shifting her weight, she looked toward the area the voice came from.- Oh, hello! I hope I'm not disturbing you, its just that its raining and I'm awfully cold, I just needed out of the rain. I'll be out of your way soon, I promise! -She hoped her host wouldn't be too angry with her inviting herself into his home.-
Sarpati: He simply stared down into the atrium, not quite sure if he should believe his ears yet, which were pivoted to focus on the door to the castle. Nearly jumping when she responded, he immediately made his way down before she had a chance to finish, figuring that was better than just leaping down. As he descended, he began weaving a makeshift parasol, no need to let the poor thing drown any further.
The small canopy floated next to him as he arrived at the bottom of the stairs, cautiously stepping into the rain as he crossed to the main doors. He smiled softly as he peered into the shadows, trying to make out whoever was by the door. "It's quite alright. But please, come out of the rain, before you catch a cold down here."
Kiasa:I ummm... -She felt rather silly when she saw the male come toward her. Giving a small smile, she shifted out of the protection of the door so that he could see her. Her eyes shifted upward when she spotted the strange parasol.- Did you... make that? -She could definitely tell it was magic but it wasn't anything she had ever seen before. Though looking at the castle she could see that it was made basically of the same material. He made all of this? It was a bit much to take in, even for someone like her who had some magical ability of her own. It took such a great skill to come up with something so detailed and large, she couldn't help but be amazed by it all.
She stood in wonder for so long after realizing this, that water had begun dripping down her fur again before she finally snapped out of her thoughts to stand under the umbrella.- I um... Sorry for my rudeness, thank you. -She gave a smile and shivered a little when a breeze passed her.-
Sarpati: He simply smiled back as the female came out of the doorway. She didn't look any worse for wear, but she'd apparently taken a few falls; her fur was muddied and hiding her true colors. Nodding at her question, he made a small motion with a hand, forming a loop at the bottom of the umbrella for her to hold, if she wished. "That I did, it was the best I could do on short notice..."
Sarpati followed her gaze a bit as she looked around, the slick walls of the atrium, the aged banners rippling in the wind. Turning to face her again when she apologized, he smiled and shook his head slightly. "There's no need to worry, it's quite alright. Now if you please, come with me. I will see if I have anything to help you dry off and warm up." With that he grinned lightly and turned towards the stairs, making his way up them and back into the castle, three sets of black strands following him up. The fourth pair remained behind, still attached to the parasol, and leaving a trail up the stairs.
Kiasa: -Turning her attention back towards him and takes a moment before following him toward the stairs. To be honest, she needed a bath, however, she didn't want to impose on her host either. So for the time being she stayed quiet, keeping a safe but close distance behind him as she stepped one by one up the stairs.- I'm.. Kiasa by the way. -She smiled politely, trying to make conversation to drive away the odd silence.-
Sarpati: Pausing for a moment, he turned to look down the stairs, smiling back at her. "My name is Sarpati. It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance." He nodded slightly, and turned to continue up the stairs, continuing a bit louder so that she could hear him. "Though I would have certainly wished for better circumstances..." Stopping at the landing on the second floor, he moved to the side so as not to be in her way, and looked around as if he'd never been here before, lost in thought for a moment. Well, he did have towels at least...wherever they had wound up...
Kiasa: -She followed behind him kind of awkwardly, noting that she was still dripping all the way up the stairs and hoped she wouldn't leave any water stains.- Its nice to meet you Sarpati. -She smiled kindly but tilted her head at his words a little sheepishly.- Is this bad timing? I'm not meaning to impose and I promise to get out of your hair as soon as the rain lets up. -She offered, hoping she wasn't in the way.-
Sarpati: He snapped out of his dazed look, turned to look at her with a soft smile. "Oh, no, I didn't mean it like that. I like the rain, but I was merely thinking you might have preferred not to be caught in it." He shook his head a little, nodding in front of him as he continued walking, speaking louder again so she could hear him. Leading her through the hallway, eventually reaching the stairs to the third floor. "You needn't rush. At the very least, I do not mind the company. My castle tends to feel rather...empty most days."
Kiasa: Oh, well, I usually don't mind the rain, but I've been walking for quite a while and with the way its been pouring I'm rather cold. So I figured I needed to warm up before moving again. -As if on cue she let out a little sneeze behind a covered paw.- Oh.. sorry. -Sniffs and continues to follow him.- Thank you very much for allowing me to stay. Its not often you come across kind strangers anymore.
Sarpati: He turned to look at her when she sneezed, a slight worried look across his face. No, this wouldn't do at all. "On second thought, I shouldn't make you accompany me through the castle, I can fetch everything in a moment." He turned and gestured towards the dining hall instead, leading the way into an expansive hall complete with table and chairs. Banners and tapestries hung from the walls, showing their age but still in good condition. Sarpati ignored these though, instead walking to where the large fireplace was, and set about getting a fire going as a black line moved a chair from the table to a suitable spot facing the hearth. Focusing on getting the fire going, he spoke softly as he worked. "Please, make yourself at home."

In-Thread Dolon x Lady Nastara Mouse x Lady Emerald Started March 31st, 2013
Nastara~ *The door to the shop opens slowly and a regal looking woman glides in, she wears a hint of a smile but until she knows the place better she keeps her fangs hidden. She pauses to look about and see if there is anyone interesting about*
Dolon: *Is focused on his writing as he relaxes in a chair, scribbling furiously in a thick book in an obscure language. At the sound of the door, he looked up from his never-ending work, quirking an eyebrow at the newcomer. Pulling a notebook out of his coat, he lays it on his Age-in-progress, lightly sketching the fanciful female, not bothering to say anything.*
Nastara~ *hearing the sound of pen on paper she turned so the moonlight shining through the window caught on her hair and made it shine blue black in the light. She tilted her head slightly as the male noodle she was observing pulled out something and began to draw looking at her intently.* Curious *she said. Very curious, and yet sensing that he wanted her to stay still she didn't move and instead took the opportunity to just as intently study this male*
Dolon: *Smirks as she holds still for him, not as if he was trying to be inconspicuous about it. He paused to stare at her a moment at the only word she spoke. Curious indeed. Moving the pen across the notebook, he did his best to capture the moonlight across her hair, the noble look she had.* "You needn't stand still, my dear."
Nastara~ *she smiled softly, deliberately showing the tiniest hint of fang- almost as though she was testing the waters* Very well- *with a regal nod of her head she let her gaze travel the room once more and settling on a chair that faced him she gracefully took a seat using a paw to smooth out her skirt and once more tilted her head in clear scruitiny of the noodle- an almost predatory look coming to her gaze. And indeed she was hungry- she had not fed this night- and the sound of blood in his veins was quite tempting- but something had her hold off*
Dolon: *Seemingly unphazed by the fang, but does make an effort to add short pen strokes to the drawing at the new detail. The sketch more or less complete, he added shading here and there, along with a short note underneath it in another unknown hand. Satisfied that his drawing captured the female sufficiently, he closed the book and slid it under the larger one, glancing up at the now-seated figure before picking up where he had left off.
Nastara~ *As he appeared unaffected by her fang her head once more tilted and her eyes flashed, a shot of black chasing like clouds through the purple* Curious and curiouser *she spoke in a low lilting voice. SHe watched him slide the book away and suddenly she had the abrupt feeling that she'd just been catalogued and it sat with her a bit wrong. The cloudy grey color returned to her eyes* Who are you? *she asked in a haughty imperative tone*
Dolon: *Unperturbed by or perhaps not noticing her glare, he continued his writing, detailing a change to a seemingly innocuous environmental element that he had been eluding his grasp. Turning the page, he glanced up for a moment at her question, intrigued by the tone if nothing else. Looking back down at his work, he wearily answered.* "I am but a traveler, trying to find his way home." *A few more scribbles poured from the tip of his pen before he paused again, as if realizing something. Meeting her gaze this time, he gave a short addition, before he was lost to the writing.* "But if you're looking for a name, I call myself Dolon."
Nastara~* Her gaze darkened as he waited and her chin rose in challange. At his initial answer her eyes narrowed. Yet she held her pose waiting to see if more was forthcomming, She held her intimidating stare on him as he continued to scribble and waited. As he met her gaze she fought the urge to try and mesmerize him and instead kept her haughty glare in place. And as he replied rather than being angrier at being blown off she once more went pensive.* Intriguing- you " call yourself" Dolon.......*she trailed off in thought as she continued to asses the male*
Dolon: *If he noticed the pointed glares or imminent danger directed at him, he made no sign of it as he steadily filled the page. At first he made no attempt to respond to her derisive comment, the silence wearing on until he ended a line with a bit of flourish. Looking over his work, he replied in a lilting, almost lyrical voice.* "Yes. Dolon Tsahvahnesh Chisotahn. Though again, just 'Dolon' will suffice." *He smirked a bit, as if there was some joke that only he was privy to, and let the pen rest between the pages of his book as he glanced up in her direction once more.*
Nastara~ *she was getting furious. This impudent little pup of a mortal had no idea to whom he was speaking. She longed to pounce on him, startle him and sink her fangs home deep in his jugular and feel his pulse beat hot and fast in her mouth. But then again, perhaps this one was not worthy of her. She paused at that thought. Perhaps she had something- " Dolon Tsahvahnesh Chisotahn " she repeated in her dangerously soft voice as he glanced at her. " Such a mighty name. And one so academic, so devoted to his work. One might think he'd recognize the presence of an ancient when he felt it......but perhaps he is merely stupid and uninterested." She mused aloud..
Dolon: *He sighed lightly and finished the expression he had been writing and set the pen down, begrudgingly accepting that he wasn't going to have focus for the moment, resting his arms across the pages with his hands clasped together.* "It works the best, in my opinion. It wouldn't be as tidy if I had to write out 'Chisotahn koken tomet', anyway. " *He gave the female a once-over, frowning slightly, his voice calm.* "Certainly not stupid enough to assume any age with a vampiress, though uninterested isn't too far off base. I do have work to finish, but I suppose I could use a break for the moment. So. Do you have a name, or should I just refer to you as 'that vampire'?"
Nastara~* She drew herself up to her full diminuitive height and managed still to look down her nose at him as he spoke. Then her skin prickled as he gave her the once over as she stood still- that deathly quiet stillness that it took a vampire to master though she longed to lunge for him. She couldn't help but let her ear twitch as he called her a vampiress, she'd truly wondered if he'd noticed. A small hiss escaped as he declaired that he was un interested though as she glanced down to the book he'd set aside she was molified by his question. Resuming her haughty tone she spoke" You, mortal, have the pleasure of addressing Lady Nastara"*
Dolon: *He simply smirked as she gave out her name, not at all surprised by her tone or attitude. His voice was calm, and a little softer, as if he were greeting a colleague.* "A pleasure to make your acquaintance, Lady Nastara." *His writing put aside for the moment, he sat back and pulled his tail into his lap, lightly grooming it with slow hands as he continued to watch her. He let a few moments of silence pass before he spoke again.* "I doubt you've tracked me down for a lesson on ancient cultures, or to ask about being my assistant in the field. So, what can I do for you? Engage in idle chit-chat about your kind? Perhaps trace your lineage through the centuries?"

Cyp: Why would she be mad? Did you tell her off for trying to swindle merchants into buying her stuff again or something? P:
Kana: No...I just asked here where she was going.
Cyp: Oh. Uh. Was she here to help us pack? biggrina
Ootachi: Over here! *ninjas over to the fridge and pulls out two cupcakes* See? *offers Cyri one* Here's your share of the 'booty' wink

Cyri: *whispers while they hide under the table* So uh. Not to embarrass you or anything. But, I think you've got some frosting on your face. P:

And den everyone had to go to sleeps.

The Deal >| Aella x Kar Rose x Mouse Started April 18th, 2013
Aella: *lightly whacks Kar in the back of the head with her datapad* "Alright, how did you do it."
Kar: *looks around, then spots the attacker* "What? What do you mean, what did I do?"
Aella: *flares her mandibles at him* "You know very well what. How did you do it?" *shows him the datapad*
Kar: *looks over the datapad* "Oh, that." *shrugs* "It just kinda stood out to me is all, like something was missing in the machine, preventing it from running." *nods* "Why, did it help?"
Aella: *Sits down across from him and slouches forward, staring hard at him for a moment.* "That 'thing that just stood out' to you was what gave us a lead; I can't really talk about it but it matched the profile of a cold case, gave us a starting point."
Kar: *quirks an eyebrow behind his helmet, intrigued now* "Is that so..." *looks aside for a moment, then back at Aella* "So...you're not mad at me for going through your- I mean, uh. Helping?"
Aella: *Pulls her mandibles in tightly in the form of a grimace, scowling at him* "Mad? You're damn right I'm mad. But it's hard to reprimand you when your little hunch quite possibly just saved lives."
Kar: *leans back a little, as if she was going to take a swipe at him* "Oh. Well, lucky them, then." *tilts his head to the side* "So what now then? It's not like you can tell anyone at C-Sec where you got the lead from, it would undermine your reputation."
Aella: *Takes some small pleasure in his weariness of her, but her eyes narrow dangerously at his last comment* "Don't you think I know that?! If I let it out from behind my teeth just who's bright idea it was I could lose my job, or worse. And you could end up in a holding cell for messing with classified Citadel information." *Her eyes glitter dangerously as she leans in, resting her arms on her knees and her head on her bridged claws* "And I would do just that, get your sorry suit tossed into a cell. Only..." *Here she paused, then sighed and leaned back in her chair, giving him breathing space.* "Only I need your help again. Since they thought it was me that had picked up the scent, they sent another puzzle to my desk."
Kar: *nods, as if he expected this* "Well, I think the question is, do you want to keep doing this? It wouldn't be hard to continue helping you where I can, but that might get you in trouble if you're promoted higher and then can't perform on your own." *He pauses a moment to collect his thoughts again, smirking behind his faceplate* "So, I would suggest taking the puzzles at a slower pace. spacing them out so that you're still getting things done, but don't stand out too much." *Leaning back, he adds a bit of a bargain, folding his arms across his chest* "At the same time, -if- I agree to help you, what would I be getting in return?"
Aella: *His cocky attitude had her wanting to punch him right in the faceplate. She wondered briefly about the repercussions of shattering it; but mostly as a precursory curiosity. Since that wasn't an option though, she settled for growling deeply and showing her teeth at the smarmy b*****d.* "You say that as if you think I got this job on someone else's merits. I have EARNED my badge at C-Sec, and I'd have it no other way. The only thing saving your hose-covered hide right now is that you might do more good outside of a cell than in one. Don't make me doubt that." *She snatched the datapad away and thumbed through it again, still not seeing some magical answer despite it being the hundredth read-through. Covering her eyes with a hand briefly, she put it back down on the table before saying more.* "I'm not stupid, Quarian. I'm aware what relying on your... talents too heavily could do. But there is an opportunity here to change things, to save people. It's not about the recognition or even what I want. It's about what the Citadel needs."
Kar: *All he could do in response was laugh a little at her stoicism, a little mirth is his voice* "Well pardon me for trying to look out for your scaly hide..." *He shook his head at thoughts of how this could turn out* "Look, I don't mind helping you on your mission to rid the Citadel of crimes, but I've got to look out for myself too..."

Doodle Notes? Mouse x Tay Mouse x Crim Started April 27th, 2013
Mouse: *sprawls across the floor*
Tay: *Blinks at the large god laying across the room and taking up most of the space* Errr well I wasn't expecting this today. *Tilts her head before flopping down by the god and writing a description about him, because first god encounter* Feel free to just lay there.
Mouse: *perks up a little at the sound of writing* Eh? *scrambles off the floor into a pose more fit for a...something* There, this better? Or should I be all 'WHOOSH!'? *spreads his wings and stirs the air*
Tay: *Watching him scramble she snorts biting her lip to hold back giggles* Quite regal your pose there. *When he spread his wings the breeze blew in her pages, nearly causing her pen to fly across all her words* Whoops! Well that does give me the chance to check out your wings. Never seen a god before...
Mouse: *folds his wings around as if the papers would attack him* Ahh...whoops. *tilts his head to the side a little* So...how long do I need to hold still for? *tries to strike another magestic-y pose, sans the mini-tornadoes this time* Oh! *drops the pose* And can I see it when you're done? Huh huh huh huh? emotion_kirakira
Tay: *Smiling she laughs again at his posing* You don't really have to hold still, I'm just describing how you look. To keep my writing up to par and see if it matches how other's look. If other's can imagine the same image I am then I'm doing a good job. If not I need more practice. *Giggling slightly she nods* Of course you can! Not that it'll be the best thing you've ever read. I'm still a novice.
Mouse: *blinks* Oh! So more like this then! *spreads wings all the way out so she can see them* Aaaand...yeah that's all I've got. *tilts head the other way* I like reading and all, but I can't imagine that reading something about myself would be that interesting, I'd already know how it ends! *smirks*
Tay: *Staring in wonder at his wing span she has to force her hands to stay in her lap instead of reaching out to touch them* You don't find yourself interesting? But you're a god! You're huge and powerful and *Gesturing she searches for a word but can't seem to find it, settling instead for something simple* godlike. *Finishing up her description she's about to give it to him to read but pauses, adding a little line at the end about as soon as he finishes reading her description he'll suddenly be hit with a realization* I'm not quite sure you'll know how this one ends. Still want to read?
Mouse: Well, I mean, I guess I'm interesting. But I'm just...me. *grins and twitches his wings* Ooooh a surprise! *crouches down and inches closer to the notebook, very super stealthy and all* cat_ninja
Tay: Well, just you is interesting. I find 'just people' to be some of the most interesting out there. You can't have a story without those average people, I don't care what kind of story you write. *She giggles at his moves, happily just handing it over* I hope you like surprises~ *She hadn't written a huge one but hey, every little surprise counted*
Mouse: *looks thoughtful for a moment* I suppose that makes sense... *takes the notebook as if he was stealthily doing so, sliding backwards along the floor before looking over it* Hmmm~... *his wings tilt lightly from side to side as reads*
Tay: *Slowly a smile spreads across her face as he reads, she knows he's about to get to the end and so she laughs* The realization is you have a new follower. Surprise! *Bumping her shoulder against him she hopes her surprise at least makes him laugh* My names Tay. Yours?
Mouse: *tilts his head to the side, with a look of absolute confusion, turning the paper this way and that* What are words again? *he tries to hold a serious/confused face for as long as possible, but ultimately fails, unsuccessfully trying to smother laughter* Kidding~ My name's Mouse. Hold up though, follower? Why am I being followed? What if I don't wanna be followed? Why meeeeeeeeeeeeeeee? *dramatic whining*

First Date LAWL 8D - Fin Dagda x Maero Mouse x Roserain Started May 16th, 2013
Maero: It was dark when she finally skulked out of the forest line. It had been hard to be patient, waiting for the male to leave, his netting still set in the water long after he'd pulled up his other lines and left. Maero was definitely wild, but she wasn't stupid. The black weave was obviously to catch fish, even if the male wasn't there to reel them in. And since he wasn't around, it meant a free meal for her.
Creeping along, she paused as the boards of the dock creaked underfoot unpleasantly. Ears shot up as she looked around with wide eyes for several moments. No one came running at her waving their arms and yelling, so she assumed she was in the clear. Sneaking up to where the black net was tied off to the dock, she started pulling on it, dragging the buoys as well as she attempted to drag it up the weather-worn boards. In the dark she couldn't see much and didn't bother even attempting to undo the elaborate knots, instead simply attempting to dismantle or move apart what she could to reach for the flapping things, flashing silver in the moonlight.
Within moments she was well and truly bound in the netting as well, her struggles only ensnaring her further as she thrashed about, searching for an exit. When that didn't work, she tried to stand despite the heavy weight of the waterlogged fishing equipment, but didn't get very far. The netting was still tied off at the dock after all. Miserable, she kept up her attempts to escape, that free meal not looking so free anymore.
Dagda: The day had gone by like so many others, enjoying the calm of the lake, and taking what he could to feed the village. Today hadn't been that splendid of a catch, and so he had decided to leave the nets in overnight. Perhaps he would wake up to a surprise in the morning. Taking the fishing lines with him, he had gone inside, putting everything away as the dock creaked in the light waves.
The absence of the sound of waves splashing onto the shore should have set him alert, the waters were still tonight. But he'd never had trouble from anyone, he sold or traded all of his catch for a fair price; people needed to eat, after all. The commotion in the water did catch his attention though, had the fish just waited for him to leave? Smirking lightly to himself, he grabbed his knife and quietly headed back outside. His father was probably sleeping already, and Dagda didn't wish to wake him. Even in the dark he could immediately tell something was amiss. Nothing in the lake would be putting up that much of a fight...
Dashing to the dock, he took in the situation for a moment. Whatever was in the nets wasn't happy about it, but wasn't crying out for help either...something wild? He jumped into the water alongside the dock, wading over to where the poor thing was tangling itself, speaking softly to it as he tried to calm it down.
"Shhh, easy there. It's alright, I'll get you out. It's okay..."
Maero: Something was coming! Nonononononononono... She started struggling harder, exhausting herself in a desperate bid for freedom, cursing the clever trap. The water churning and frothing in her efforts, his words meant little to her as she kicked off the post of the dock to try and escape.
In a full panic now, she tried to put as much distance between herself and his form, though hampered by both the net and the water itself. She even tried to wriggle enough to get under the deck itself but to no avail.
She was tiring by the time she noticed a flash, the soft gleam of light running along the length of a knife. Wild-eyed and cornered, Maero rushed towards him and clamped down with her teeth on his arm. The netting prevented her from getting a good purchase, but she tried all the same.
Dagda: "Settle down, no need to panic, I'm not going to hurt you... It'll be alright, just let me get you out of here..."
He kept a firm hold on the netting, moving with it as the struggling pulled the net this way and that. Slowly feeling around to get an idea of how bad the tangle was, he all the while reassured whatever it was with soft words. It didn't take long to realize that there was no easy way to just unwrap the net and let the creature go...which meant he'd need to cut the net apart most likely...
Sighing mostly to himself, he accepted the loss, and pulled out his knife to start working. Whatever was in the net either chose the wrong time to go into 'about to die' mode, or recognized the blade...which didn't really make sense. Either way, he was taken by surprise as it rushed him, getting a good bite on his arm.
Hissing in pain, the net dropped from his hand in surprise as he tried to back away, keeping a solid grip on the knife. The teeth felt...flat though, like an herbivore, not a type that would usually go for fish...strange. Carefully pulling his arm back, he kept his distance and simply cut the net from the dock, not wishing to deal with this in the water. Putting the knife away, he took the tangled mess in both hands, blood running down the injured arm as he coaxed the whole thing towards the shore.
"Easy there... It'll be alright... Calm down..."
Wait...the shape in the net...? Nah, if it was a person they would have said something by now, and certainly not bitten him.
Maero: Success! Her captor pulled away once she managed to puncture flesh, so now her jaw understandably hurt, but that was a small price to pay for slightly better odds of survival. He backpedaled, to her immense relief, before cutting the netting from afar. Which... didn't make sense. He was going to let her go?
Not one to look a gift in the mouth, she tried to move further away and was reaching for the new openings in the trailing netting in hopes of a solution to the tangle before he snatched the frayed ends and tugged her closer to the dock.
He wasn't freeing her, he was making it easier for him to haul her away. Hissing angrily at the development, she started to flail again, but was too exhausted to do much. Especially with her limbs being this ensnared. She wouldn't give up though, would rather die than be bound again.
"Nooooooo."
It was a wail more than a demand, raspy and primal and not altogether human.
Dagda: He didn't pay much attention to the hiss he received for his deeds, as he didn't expect to be able to converse with whatever was captive in his net, and simply used his tone to convey meaning in these instances. The wailing cry stopped him for a moment though, not quite human, but...things weren't adding up here. The bite, the general shape of whatever was in the net, the cry...
Getting a better look at the tangled net, he frowned a bit, starting to see the shape of...a person? But...who? How? Why weren't they saying anything? Maybe they were choking? Shaking his head, he knelt in the shallower water, propping up the...head? of the person on his leg, a little more cautious about freeing them now. Something wasn't right here...
"Hang on, I'll get you out. Just hold still, I don't want to knick you with my knife..."
Carefully, he felt around, slipping his hand under the net. Using it as a guard, he worked at cutting through the net, blade facing out, braced against his palm. No need to scare the person with accidental cuts... Dagda worked carefully, but as quickly as he was comfortable with, gradually freeing the head. Had to make sure they could breathe and were okay...
Maero: Exhausted now, she still struggled and squirmed as he came close to her, her hisses and thrashing apparently meaning little to him. His voice startled her all over again and she shied away from his hands, despite the message of his words.
Ears flat as his fingers worked on the netting, she bared her teeth like some wildcat when his knife came forward, but it was shielded away from her and she didn't have the energy o keep struggling. Instead she was bidding, reserving herself for the inevitable assault. For now he seemed to be concentrating on the netting, but once his focus was on her again she'd hopefully be able to dig down deep for that final burst of speed to get away.
As the severed cords fell away from her face, she blinked and then her eyes went wide as she stared at him; ears still down and teeth bared menacingly.
Dagda: Carefully pulling away the last of the netting, he smiled a bit as he could make out a face. They didn't seem very happy to be free though... Ignoring that for now, he let the knife rest at his side, trying to get an idea of what was wrong.
"Hey. Are you alright? Can you talk? What happened, how did you get tangled in the net?"
Not waiting for a reply, he slowly worked at getting the rest of the netting off with the same process as before, freeing one of the arms this time. That way perhaps the person could help get themselves out?
Dagda still couldn't figure out what was going on, they weren't talking, bit him, and seemed...terrified that he was helping them out. The only thing they had said was more of a...cry for help. Shaking his head, he just kept on cutting apart the net.
Maero: She hadn't expected him to keep trying to coddle her with words, but perhaps he was trying to seem trustworthy as a ruse to get her to relax so she'd be easier to capture. Not responding, she continued to shy away from his touch, doing her damnedest to pull as far away as the binding would allow. When her arms were finally free she took the opportunity presented to her and ran with it; hissing once again and pushing him away.
Throwing herself back, further into the lake, she used her hands to free her legs and debated for a moment on keeping the net; but decided the drag would slow her down too much and not be worth it. Leaving the tattered remains in the lake, she dove, swimming pitifully towards the shore much further north and towards the woods. She was absolutely exhausted by the time she made it to the tree line, with little reward to show for her efforts, but at least now she was safe.
Melting back into the shadows, she scurried through the brambles and loam, effectively disappearing in the dark woods she was so familiar with.

BUGS. BUGS EVERYWHERE ???? x ???? x Cardiarthre Mouse x Roserain x Geyser Started July 13th, 2013
Cardiarthre: [Gets shoved out] What?
????: *skitters back slightly, pedicellariae lowered slightly in a cautious stance*
Cardiarthre: [Ears flick at the sound of skittering; she turns around to see what it is] O.O O.O O.O @.@ [As quietly as she can, she sneaks over towards the big bug] <3333 ?
????: *takes a few steps back as he watches the other approach, tentatively singing amused greens along with his light dulcimer notes*
Curiosity-songs are certainly welcomed.
Cardiarthre: [Blinks and stares at him] That's...he's...you're...yes. I am very curious about you.
????: *waves his pedicellariae in amusement, his songs staying their green tones*
Why do you sing such curiosity-songs?
Cardiarthre: [Briefly, she ponders how to explain this] ...Your form fascinates me. I have never seen one like you. And I like your appearance.
????: *looks to each side, as if searching for something*
We are newly reborn, but memory-songs still knew of us during our cold silence. Many still sing fear-songs.
Cardiarthre: [Blinks] ...So...you...okay, I'm lost. What do you mean by "still knew of us during silence"?
????: We were thought to be extinct, forever silenced. Those who sung war-songs knew of us, their memory-songs were all that remained of us.
*sings indigo sorrows as he explains*
Cardiarthre: [Nods, suddenly enlightened] Oooooh. So is there anyone else of your kind here?
????: *Sings blue-green amusement*
????: *nods and shifts into light blues, peaceful again*
My clutch-brother is... *looks around again* There. *points with a pedicellariae*
Cardiarthre: @.@ Oh, there's more of you...That's wonderful, wonderful! What do you call yourselves?
????: *Scuttling closer on his many legs, he turns his bright eyes towards her.*
Inquisitive-songs? We are all Rachni, we've sung of the stars in memory-song, but no more. Now our song is only heard on the Singing Planet. Some sing songs in solitude and silence, but there are worry and fear songs for them. All need the Harmony.
Cardiarthre: Oh. Rachni, huh? So what's the singing planet? Is that your home? What do you call our planet?
????: The Singing Planet is where Life-Singer is ensuring we will continue to sing, its location known only to us. There are many who still sing fear-song and war-song, who would silence us again. We do not wish for our songs to be silenced. *pauses his song for a moment* We...do not have a name for your planet, but Planet of Many-Voices would be fitting.
Cardi: Oh. Yeah, that sounds like a good name for it. So what are you doing here, on this planet?
????: We are here at the request of our queen, though I cannot sing of it more than that.
Cardi: O.O Oo, you have a queen? Is she here, too? Will all your people be moving here?
????: *sings with blue-green amusement*
Life-Singer, queen of queens, is on the Singing Planet along with most of our kind. Very few Rachni are elsewhere. We have no plans for leaving our home, it is more than suitable for our life-songs.
Cardiarthre: [Sighs disappointedly] Oh. That's a shame. I'd love to meet more of you. I have such curiosity-songs to sing.
????: In time you may, but we will not take those risks so soon. Not many would sing welcome-songs to a Rachni that stands-
*momentarily fills her mind with garbled music as he tries to describe a measurement*
-20 of your feet. Though Life-Singer has not reached that yet.
Cardiarthre: [Blinks several times] No...I guess not many would sing welcome-songs. I'm considered weird because I would. I think you all are beautiful.
????: There are regretfully few that sing similar songs. *his own song is tinged with a few pink notes* Why is it that you sing these songs?
Cardiarthre: Why do I sing curiosity-songs, you mean? [She pauses, trying to figure out how to explain "invertebrate zoologist"] I've always sung curiosity songs about those with chitinous armor. [She reaches out and taps his shoulder] Like this. It...fills me with joy? To sing those songs. And get songs in response.
????: Curiosity-songs, and welcome-songs. Instead of fear-songs, or panic-songs. More than tolerance-song. *shifts his head slightly to follow her hand, nodding at her words* We know of these creatures, on this planet. Their low-song is not ours, but not unfamiliar.
Cardiarthre: I've always sung curiosity and welcome songs to those like you. Not many people do, though. [It's her turn to tilt her head] What's a low-song?
????: *sings in soft blues* You would know it as pheromones or postures, silent word-songs. Low-song is how the workers and soldiers of the Rachni sing.
Cardiarthre: [Her ears perk up] Oh, soldiers and workers, I see! So, you're...?
