Samril didn't realize exactly when Elleth's feet were on solid ground once more and didn't turn until she addressed him. "Hmm? Oh, spar. Uh, sure." Why not? After all, it seemed no dragons were around. He could at least do something somewhat productive today. And sparring meant going easy! He didn't want to hurt her too much, after all.
Glancing at the stick still in his hand, Samril tossed it aside, deeming it too poor of a weapon. Besides, she didn't have a weapon either. Wouldn't be fair, even if it was a crappy weapon.
The Dovaa took up a ready position before a thought hit him. "I'm Samril. What's your name? he asked, lowering his guard slightly.

"Elleth," Came the reply as the dark skinned Oblivionite shifted into her preferred stance, feet spaced shoulder width apart. She eyed Samril and thought that his name was as strange as his race, but his teacher knew what they were talking about, as his stance seemed as solid as her own. "Hn." She muttered to herself, wondered when she stopped thinking of him as silly and started to admire the way he held his body.
A deep breath was taken and released slowly. This was a spar, not a real fight, she had to go easy on him, just like he'd be going easy on her. A small grin graced her lips as she waggled her fingers at him in a 'come at me' manner.

Samril smiled. "It's nice to meet you, Elleth," he replied as he raised his guard up once more. The smile widened as she made a 'come at me' motion. Did all Oblivionites like to fight as much as this one seemed to? The Dovaa shoved all thoughts aside, trying to focus upon the here and now. Thinking didn't help in fighting... or sparring.
He decided to start off easy. A punch would get the ball rolling nicely.

Coal colored eyes watched as Samril finally seemed to settle down and take something seriously. 'Finally,' Elleth thought to herself, 'lets see what a Dovaa can do.' Samril suddenly closed the small amount of space between them, arm raised for a classic punch. Elleth hunkered down to absorb the blow, which slid past her cheek without her having to move at all. She was surprised by this but chalked it up to him just testing her defenses and resolve.
No matter, he was within striking range now and while her arms were short, they weren't that short.

The Dovaa wasn't overly thrilled when his punch went wide, frowning and forgetting that the Oblivionite would be returning an attack. Startled, he blinked as the palm strike whistled by his pointy ear. Time to pay attention, Samril!
Circling to the right, Samril tried another punch.

She was glad that she'd been taught to move out of range the moment she'd realized that her attack had missed. There was no time to follow the failed move up with something as her attack chain had been broken long before it had even begun. The retaliating punch was easily Side Stepped as she saw it coming, making it easy to turn on her heel and attempt to Jab at his side as she was passing by.

Samril was on the move at the same time as Elleth, moving out of the way of her jab before he even knew it. Seeing that his punch was doing pretty much nothing to this tough girl, the boy suddenly charged, ready for a Headbutt.

Another Side Step had her out of range of the charge and those painful looking horns. They were cute looking only when he wasn't trying to impale her. Elleth suddenly wished she'd been paying more attention when they had been learning to attack with their feet and legs, as her Lotus Palm and Jab seemed to do nothing. This Dovaa's reflexes seemed to be on par with her own.
But she wasn't about to give up, not yet, and struck out with another palm strike.

"Owww!" With his head still down from the charge, Samril missed the body cues that Elleth was about to attack again and ended up with a palm strike to the nose. Frowning, the Dovaa quickly lashed out with a punch. He'd get her for that!!!

"Hhhng!" Elleth exclaimed as she felt the stinging travel up her arm from where Samril had managed to hit. She'd been too slow to dodge the retaliating strike, but she was proud that she'd gotten him at least once. Her hand lashed out again, palm flat and her fingers stiff. She'd get him again while he was still close.

This time, Samril saw it coming and ducked under the palm strike. From where he was, he decided to give it another shot at a Headbutt. After all, he was much closer this time. He'd just have to be sure to look up quicker!

Her strike was avoided but that was fine, as she was too busy sucking her stomach in and bringing her arms down to block the next headbutt. Her feet had her safely out of reach before she knew it. Elleth huffed for breath a little, the last attack had come a bit too close for comfort. Her hand darted out again, palm flat, for what was starting to become her trademark attack.

And he remembered to look up as he felt nothing make contact with his head. And just in time to Dodge sideways and avoid that palm again! It seemed Samril needed to practice more on the headbutts... for now, he'd stick to punching. It was doing better... though not by much.

Elleth couldn't help the wry grin that stretched her lips, this duel was both frustrating and enjoyable. Frustrating because they seemed to rarely land a blow, and enjoyable because they were both working hard to get that occasional hit in. Movement caused her to skitter to the side, avoiding the blow that came her way. Her arm still smarted from the first time that attack had hit.
Bringing her arm back she decided to trade one punch for a Jab.

Once again they were dancing more than sparring. Sparring involved actually hitting, after all! Samril was a bit surprised that she didn't try another palm strike, but he saw the jab coming and it was easy to dodge about her and get out of the way in time. Continuing to circle about, he tried to catch her in the side with another punch.
