Let's Try This Again
RP between Heath and Habika
RP between Heath and Habika
He was bored. That's it. There wasn't any other reason he was going out of his comfort zone other than the fact that he was bored, and looking for something to do. It certainly wasn't because, after meeting Blake for a second time, he felt alone in his forest. NEVER. And it certainly wasn't because he missed the stupid Buneary.
No. Not at all.
So there was Heath, partly terrified because there were entirely too few trees here, trying to be sneaky in grass that was also too short for him since his "growth spurt". He had no idea if he was going the right direction or not, but the last time he'd seen Blake, he'd been heading this way.
Now Habika was busy outside, busy collecting flowers for the tea party that Trinity was going to have with her a little later. Now normally Trinity would be outside with her, but her mother had told Trinity she couldn't play until she had finished her homework. So that left Habika with some alone time to do whatever she wanted to do. So she decided it was a good idea to get some flowers to decorate the table with. Now her little pony tail bobbed up and down as she knelt to gather the few daisy's that littered the lawn. She hadn't noticed Heath's rapidly approaching body until her white stone fell from her pocket and rolled towards him. Looking up she spotted the boy and it only took her moments to figure out who it was. "HI!"
That, however, was not what he was expecting. Heath stopped short when he heard something approaching him on the ground...and when it lead to none other than human!Habika standing before him, he almost groaned. No, this was not who he'd been looking for. NOT THAT HE'D BEEN LOOKING FOR ANYONE PARTICULARespeciallynotblake.
"Habika," he said, hesitating. She wasn't going to try and hold his hand again, was she?
Habika gave Heath the biggest smile as she did what Habika did best, gave Heath a BIG HUG. It looked like he could use a hug, and thusly she gave it to him.
"Oh its been so long!" Habika stated as she hugged him tighter before letting him go, beaming at him before she bent over to pick up her white stone. "You look so handsome human, Blake had mentioned running into you and I was hoping I would too and here you are!" The happiny girl squealed, returning the stone to her pocket and still holding the small gathering of flowers in her other hand.
"So what brings you out of the forest?"
"No, no..." he managed to squeak out as she came over and hugged him...a hug which he didn't return, and he even squirmed before he was finally let go. Dusting himself off (why? who knows), he wasn't exactly glaring at her but he certainly didn't seem happy about basically being fondled. Would she ever learn what personal boundaries are?
"Boredom," he finally said, pretty much ignoring the random string of sentences she'd spewed before the question. "Blake gets so easily riled up, he's always good for some entertainment. I figured I'd come looking for him."
Habika didn't appear to be turned off by his cold attitude for her, she just fiddeled with a small piece of her pony tail as he spoke and then tilted her head slightly.
"Blake isn't home, I think he went to the mall." She explained, "But if your bored you can stay here with me. I missed you." SHe gave him a bright smile, of course she never considered personal boundaries, to her everyone wanted a hug. Even if they didn't think they did, and Heath was probably one of those people. Sitting down she then then continued picking flowers,
"I am getting ready to play with Trinity when she is done her homework, so I am not busy if you want to stick around."
They'd met twice...how could she miss him? They barely new each other. A slight sneer on his face still, he contemplated the offer. He didn't *want* to stay per se, but he'd made the trip out here...it would be a waste of his day to just go home.
"Trinity. That's you and Blake's trainer, right?" There were images in his head of Blake wearing the huge obnoxious bows and running away from this girl all the time. Obviously, Habika didn't seem to mind. It must be a girl thing. "She's not going to try putting me in frilly pink bows, is she?"
Habika gave him a look like wondering why bows were suchr a horrible thing. Maybe it wasn't a boy thing. Still she smiled and shook her head,
"Nope, like I said Trinity is doing home work so its just you and me right now." Habika replied as she began to rearrange the flowers in her hand. "Did you want to play with me?" She asked looking perky as always. It was...hard to really say no to a girl who never seemed to be sad.
He'd been standing this time - a defense, really. And when she looked up at him, the flowers in her hand...he felt utterly and completely compelled to sit down. He didn't like this...but there was something about Habika, wasn't there? Not like a fuzzy feeling in the pit of his stomach thing (yuk), but like a "humor her. It won't be that bad" sort of feeling. If he'd known better, he would have said he felt like her big brother...but he didn't understand *that* feeling at all. Regardless, he sat, legs crossed under him with another distasteful glance at the flowers.
"YOU aren't going to try and put those in my hair, are you?" Please...don't make him into a girl.
Habika laughed and shook her head, "Nooooo, unless you want me to!" She replied happy to see that Heath was going to stick with her and not run away. Flaring out her dress she sat down with him and fiddled with the flowers again.
"Hey..Heath can you still use your vines? Like you were a pokemon?" She asked looking at him wondering where they would come from if he still had them. Once she had changed she had kept her stone...but no longer had a built in pocket for it. She wondered what changes Heath had undergone. If he liked the changes. Or if he missed being a pokemon like Blake did.
"NO," he said most definitively about the flowers, shaking his head. "I don't want those any nearer to me than they have to be."
The question about his vines caught Heath off guard a little bit. In response, two green vines slipped out of his shirt collar to wave about in the air behind and above his head. They danced a bit like snakes, then drooped down. They reached to idly pluck at the flowers that were around them, almost delicate in their actions. He wasn't exactly picking them...yet.
"Yeah...don't know how I'd be able to survive without them. I use these suckers for everything." He glanced down, watching as the vine took the flower out of the ground and brought it to his hand...and then Heath offered it to Habika.
Habika looked as the vines were dancing and waving at her, giving a giggle she waved back at them. She watched as they moved to poke at a flower before finally plucking it and then it was offered to her. Now Habika blushed slightly, but due to her obviously pink toned skin it was hard to tell a difference. She did however giggle and take the offered flower and joined it with her other bunch.
"Blake hates being human, I think he just misses his old friends and family." She replied as she rearranged the bunch. "He has a hard time making friends which is why I made him my bestest friend. Then he will never be alone, even if I am his only friend." The happiny girl explained, she was humming now lightly as she had begun to have the urge to sing. Any song.
One vine disappeared into his shirt again as the other began to pick at more flowers. It was almost as if they did it on their own accord, but not really. It was just an idle thing he was making them do.
"How can you hate being like this?" he wondered, motioning to himself. "I mean, it took some getting used to...but I'd never go back." He shrugged.
"Well, maybe he wouldn't have such a hard time making friends if he wasn't such a brat," Heath sneered, taking the plucked flower his vine offered him and giving it to the Happiny girl. "Walsk around like he knows everything. Pft." Was he turned a bit red? "How can you put up with having someone like that around all the time?"
Habika listened to him giving another hmmm and then half turned her head to look at him, she gave him a small smile at his questions.
"I think he misses's the simpler times, " Habika began as she weaved more flowers into her bunch, "Blake has a hard time expressing himself...and though he seems awkward at times he can be very caring in his own way. " She continued as she then wiggled herself closer to Heath.
"Just like another pokemon I met who was all words, but..in the end helped a little Happiny out of many dangers." She giggled again petting his vine lightly. Hmmm so she was rather perceptive wasn't she?
Heath snapped the vine back as it was touched, the other vine appearing and both of them making threatening S shapes in the air. He'd scooted away from Habika suddenly at the contact as well, glaring so sharply his eyes were nothing but slits.
"I took you out of the forest because otherwise you weren't going to leave me alone. You wouldn't take the hint to just go away." It was meant to bite and sting - though, there was a part of him that doubted it was going to work. This was Habika, after all.
Habika giggled, how right was he. She was hardly bothered at him scooting away from her, "Well you came to me this time." Habika pointed out as she didn't bother to get close to him again, she was friendly but she wasn't going to make him more uncomfortable if he didn't like it.
"Well rather you were looking for someone else, but I am glad you stopped to visit Heath, if your ever lonely you can always come visit me. I would like it if you did!" She exclaimed sounding very excited by this new idea.
He....couldn't argue that, though at this point Heath was somewhat regretting staying here with her.
"I don't get lonely," he said stubbornly, and probably a bit too defensively. He had looked away from her, retracting both vines into their hiding spots at the base of his neck again. "I get bored."
Then the Snivy boy was quiet for a moment, tumbling her words around in his head. He didn't want to say he was enjoying himself...especially after the whole vine petting thing...but he was. At least he wasn't bored(read:alone).
"Well, I'll probably be back to find Blake again. I guess I'll end up seeing you again." And that...was the best he could do for now.
Habika only looked so please at his words! After all if she got to see him again that only confirmed he was her friend, as was...everyone she met apparently. But this would confirm it firmly in her head they would be good friends.
"That's great! I am sure Blake will be happy to see you too, I know I will be." She continued as she turned her head to look back at the house, wondering if Trinity was going to be done soon...or if she got in trouble again for goofing off.
"Hey...Heath, do you mind if I sing for you? I've been practicing, and I know a few other Happiny's that could sing pretty well...I..just want to see if I can." She asked looking very keen on the idea of singing in front of Heath.
He wasn't totally surprised about her enthusiasm...that was exactly why he didn't out right say 'yes, I will come back'. He couldn't imagine what would have happened if he had given her a full and complete yes.
He continued to idly pluck at flowers...picking one to pick at the petals in his frustration. Why was he so antsy? Meh, whatever.
"Huh?" he said, barely hearing her request. "Oh...yeah, sure. I guess." He shrugged...too lost in his own thoughts to really put two and two together to equal four.
Habika giggeled and clearing her throat she raised the bouquet to her lips as if using it a a mic.
"So just give it one more try, to a lullaby, and turn this up on the radio. If you can hear me now....I'm reaching out. To let you know that your not alone." The song was soft and her eyes were shining as she sang, like a professional she raised her hand and gestured when appropriate as if she was actually in front of a grand audience instead of one unwilling person.
"Please let me take you out of the darkness, and into the light, cause I have faith in you." Habika continued as she softened her words and went quiet. After all she only knew those lyrics...not the whole song...but she looked to Heath hoping to get his opinion of the song.
He'd started in a full upright position...but slowly, as Habika continued to sing, he began to slouch. Soon Heath's chin was resting in the palm of his hand, and his eyes were droopy. He was...impressed. She wasn't all that bad, really. Man, why was he getting so tired so suddenly?
When his head slipped out of his hand he almost snapped out of it...except not. Instead, he leaned to his side, and eventually was laying on the ground. By the time she stopped and looked at him, he was completely, 100% asleep. He wasn't snoring or anything he was just...sound asleep.
Habika wasn't angry when she noticed that Heath was asleep, in fact she thought it was cute. And..considering the fact she knew Heath wouldn't really enjoy Trinity's company she brushed his hair lightly and then whispered to him to wake up.
"Come on sleepy head..you probably want to go before Trinity gets here." She suggested as she stood up and went to help him stand, after all she wanted to hurry him along and get him somewhere else. Perhaps he was half awake by the time she got him to the tree stump but she only sang a few more lines to let him slumber a bit longer before she gave another giggle and put a flower in his hair before leaving him to go home. She knew he would be fine, he came from the forest after all.
