The demon was determined not to fail. But he would be the first to admit that he had no love for animals, no matter how badass, and they usually returned the sentiment. The boil had left his dark-furred wolf saddled while he'd ventured off to train in the stadium, and as a result, the beast was less than happy to see its new master again. It growled and snapped at West as he clambered onto its back. "Shut up," he ordered. The wolf dropped to the ground, resting its head on its paws and refusing to respond. "Get the hell up!" West demanded. "This isn't jackin' nap time. Y'had plennya time fer that b'fore I got'ere!" He tugged on the ever so helpful reins that were attached to the wolf's saddle and the creature slowly rose to its feet with a snarl. "I dun got time fer yer little lady breaks. Now... do somethin'... Lady."The wolf's ear flicked back to listen to the boil, but it still refused to respond.

"Babycakes."The wolf made a gurgling noise that sounded like exasperated muttering. "Just ********' with ya." West shifted in the saddle. This was already far from comfortable. "So, yer a guy then?"The wolf turned its head slightly, looking back at the wrath demon with something approaching acceptance for the first time since they'd met. "'Kay. Guy names then." He rubbed at his chin with his knuckles. "Marley. Chopper. Waffles. Beastmullet. Taine. Arnie."The wolf... Arnie... pawed at the ground. It seemed he was more inclined to listen to the boil when West was being cooperative.

It seemed to be a regular occurrence around this kid. When West approached and reached out a hand to tap him on the muzzle, the wolf snapped at the boil's fingers. (( turning fail 2 ))
