(I haven't been able to come up with a really good combat response for this for a while, so I'm just going to flub something together and get on with it, I guess. Digo dodged, Jorm not so much; Jorm's a faster runner and has more power behind him because of his size, but Digo's got better reflexes and he's actually a fighter. Jorm's going to spend his time trying to get Sirrion because in spite of the spells he seems like the easier target than Vic. After a bit I assume Sirrion's going to run out of major spells, and Vic's going to wind up knocking Jorm more or less out of the fight to make sure Sirr's gonna be ok, and gets sucker-chomped by Digo, which will make her bleed pretty bad and make the fight that much harder for her, then he's going to get in a lucky shot when Vic's semi-distracted trying to watch what Sirr's doing to add to the fight as well, and Digo's going to go after Sirr and Gil while she's semi-unconscious, and that's what's going to trigger her demon-shift. At least that's the general sort of idea I had, if that's ok with you? If that's ok I'll just pick up a new post where she runs them off after that and Sirr can kind of go "wtf" at her and stuff. XD)

Vic sucked in air past broken ribs and tried to stand again, but the pain made her hiss the hard won breath right back out. Her vision began to blur as she watched the insane dark-pelted male stalk toward the boys. She'd never really trained herself to fight properly with this body, and she'd allowed the quiet of the area to lull her into thinking it unnecessary. And now she couldn't protect them.

No.

Everything went black for a moment... and then it all turned red.

The dragon that she'd injured and taken out of the fight had been sneaking up on her to try and finish her off after she'd fallen. He saw the change when it started and tried to warn his companion, but he was too slow. They'd woken the sleeping demon and they were going to be lucky to leave with their lives. All that could truly be seen in the shadow where she'd fallen was the glow of her one true eye, violent and bloody violet, before the giant black streak of her form shot toward Digo.

To his credit, while he did give a startled cry he did not scream even considering the severity of the wound he received and how much blood went flying. So focused was she on her current prey that Jorm actually managed to bowl her to the side and snatch Digo away. The dragon had to bodily throw himself down the very steep graveled slope with his companion to have any hope of moving fast enough to escape with his injured leg. Luckily for the two villains, protect-targets held priority over kill-targets for the Sypher.

Whatever mind lay behind her glowing eye right now gave a far more beastial impression than her normal self, evidenced by the not-quite recognition in her expression as she approached the boys. Her gait was still stiff and somewhat halting from her injuries, the fluidity lent to her by adrenaline and aggression during her attack faded somewhat now that the enemy targets were gone. Talons and faintly glowing fangs still dripped with blood as she sniffed at them and gave them a cursory examination to determine their condition. She seemed satisfied after a moment and took up a guard position at the cave entrance in a fashion that seemed automatic, even reflexive. The instinct to defend them was obvious; if there was still any reason currently left in the mind behind it was another and much more difficult question.

Sirrion watched their protector and friend change shape and what seemed like species alltogether. He remained standing protectively over his brother, and trying to follow the rapid scene unfolding before him.
After a minute, it was obvious that the new Victoria was still seeking to protect them, for which he was greatful. Jorm and Digo were one thing, and maybe with some sheer luck he would have managed to get them away, but with the new Victoria, the brothers stood no chance if she wasnt on their side.

And then, just like that, it was all over. The two evil ones had fled, and after a quick exam the new Victoria was standing guard at the cave entrance. He didnt know what to think. He checked his brother again, and then took a few steps towards Victoria.
"Are...are you alright?" he ventured softly, unsure if she would even respond in this state.

The boys had been gone for most of the day. Now, that wasnt normally unusual, after lessons they would wander off in search of an adventure. But this time...something was different. The air felt different. Thicker. And the sky was marred in blood.
Something was terribly wrong, and his children were involved in it. Both his former life as a War Mage, and his current one as a father, told him this was a fact and not a hunch.
Quickly he gathered a few healing salves and a few pouches containing powerful attacks and he headed out of his hut.

He didnt know where his children were, but at the same time, he knew exactly where they were.
Up the mountain he went, carefully and quickly. It wasnt long before he noticed signs of them. And soon enough he spotted the trail that led to the cave opening. There was blood splatter everywhere which caused the mage to rush around the corner and come face to face with Victoria's other half. He stopped briefly, assessing the situation.

Sirrion was just behind the 'demon' and his face washed with relief upon seeing his father. "What happened? Victoria, can you hear me?" he asked as he carefully approached her, not knowing what she would register in this state, but confident he would not end up having to fight with his newest friend.

The Sypher glanced back at Sirrion at the queery, a somewhat dull look on her face as she recited her response to his question in monotone in a fashion the child was probably not expecting. "Operational capacity: Seventy percent. Still in acceptable bounds. Unaided recovery time estimate: Three days." She faced forward again immediately upon finishing her recitation, falling silent until Raistlin's appearance. Further information was requested then, and she responded to him in the same dull voice as well.

"Civilians found outside safe zone in enemy encampment. Was unable to protect civilians by normal means, fail-safe activated. Enemies have been removed. One civilian injured at beginning of encounter, requires medical attention." A pause. "I have received multiple cuts and puncture wounds, but auditory senses have not been damaged." So... yes, she could hear him. She just wasn't exactly all there.

A pure military response? Fascinating.
Raistlin gave a curt nod "Very well. I will seek to aid the civilians first and then return to see to your wounds, do you copy?" It was a statement but he wanted to make sure she was on the same page, and before waiting an answer, went to his boys, checking on Gilean, Sirrion not leaving his side, as the young kit regailed them with a hurried account of what happened since they had left.
Raistlin nodded at the appropreate times as he checked Gilean's vitals, and then turned to Sirrion. Sirrion wasnt as badly injured so required less attention.
Finally he returned to Sypher. "I have something to aid your recovery" he handed her a bottle of her potion, it was a higher concentration, for just this occassion.

"Understood." The Sypher remained facing forward, still as stone, as Raistlin saw to the children. Aside from the gradual sagging in position of the wing on her more severely injured side and a faint flash and fade of bioluminescence in time with her pulse there would have been no way to tell her from a statue. She took the potion when he returned without hesitation; if her mind was incapable of registering the appropriate recognitions or feelings for her friends at the moment, she was at least aware that he was an ally and not a threat.

It took a few moments but eventually her eye stopped glowing and she wobbled a bit, turning to peer up at Raist a bit confusedly. "Raist...lin?..." She blacked out then and toppled over, fortunately on her mostly uninjured side. Fur and form began fading back to normal at a much slower rate than they had altered during the fight. Also fortunately for Vic's peace of mind her clothing was undamaged by the alterations, if not the fight itself. She'd adjusted her wardrobe years ago to compensate for the occasional need to sprout wings or accidental full-form shift.

Unfortunately, Raistlin was going to have to use magic or bring someone to transport Vic away, because at this point she was going to be out cold for several hours at least.

If Raistlin were physically stronger, he would have softened her fall to the ground, but he was the weaker twin and could do nothing to ease her meeting with the ground. When she was out he knelt over her, checking her pulse and vitals, they werent as strong as they could be, but given the circumstances, she was doing alright.

Now he had the task of moving her, and Gil. Gil he could guide down magically, but he didnt trust trying the two of them. Besit was always near Raistlin, and the mage sent away his faithful servent and a few moments later returned with a perplexed Richard, who was arguing with the servant.

"What i dont understand is why you had to put out the fire to get my attention. It was totally unneccessary." he grumbled, as he took in the situation, raising a brow curiously. "Arent you in a bit of a pickle. You're supposed to drug them closer to your house. And not with your kids either."
Raistlin shook his head. Luckily he had gotten used to the warlock's strange strange...everything. "Thank you for coming, would you be able to guide her down to my hut, she was injured protecting my children" he explained as he gathered Gil.
Richard gave an exhasperated sigh, but soon a bright red globe circled Victoria and levitated her down the mountain. "You do realize this would mean you owe me one. Two actually. I'm charging you for not letting me set your children on fire. Its very tempting you know." He said with a firm nod, eyeing the young ones out of the corner of his eyes.

Shortly after, they arrived at Raistlin's hut, and Richard set Victoria on the mage's bed, and Raistlin set Gil down on his own bed. Sirrion passed out beside his brother, curled protectively still, even though they were far from danger.
