"Then I would support him," She nodded, finally looking up from her glass, not that she loosened her grip, "I'll make my personal stand on the matter clear, but I'll want him to know that I'll be there for him... To help him through whatever he might be feeling..." Through good times and bad, right? Or so the saying goes.
"Is... Is there a reason why you're asking me this?" She asked, although from her tone, it was obvious she was hesitant and possibly not wanting Shun to think that she might be probing too much.

The Reaper didn't quite answer right away, and instead shifted his focus to his glass for the time being. He took a slow drink from it, then set it back down before speaking up. During that time, he was just mustering himself to really speak out on the matter. It still wasn't too much within his nature to really reach out for help.
"It's.. Mitsu," he said quietly, "She had stayed by me, despite not completely wanting to see Stacey die. She was incredibly distressed afterwards.."

"A-ah..." She grimaced, knowing that if she had been in her shoes, she would most likely be equally distressed... Not that she would show it too much, seeing how that would probably distress Mac, "The best you can do is to show her support, maybe talk about it... Talking can be stressing, but it shouldn't be avoided."
She should start taking her own advice.
"I just thought that since she... Voted yes..." She sighed, feeling mildly frustrated.

"It sounded like she didn't really know what she wanted. She understood the reasoning for killing him but didn't really know if it was truely the 'right' thing," he said before rubbing his head gingerly, "It went against her personal values because of me. I.. feel like being around me is breaking her apart."
Shun grimaced at the thought. It was really not something he wanted to do to her, but that was how things were looking.

"Don't ever think that," She put down her glass to hold Shun's shoulder, her brow knitted together as she looked Shun in the eye (literally the eye), "She loves you and she made the choice to stand by you, so just stand by her. Don't ever feel guilty or bad about the choices she made, or you'll just make her feel worse."

Shun tensed briefly as Lizzy stared him right in his good eye to speak sternly. Despite what she said, he was having trouble really going along with it.
"I know she does... She's willing to throw away her values just to follow me. But it's hurting her in the process. And well. I don't want her to end up being like me."

"Find a time to sit her down, and talk to her about it," She paused, looking down briefly, "Mac... He thought that leaving me was the best solution, because we work differently. It was a terrible decision... And what do you mean... Ending up being like you?"

"I'm not going to leave her," Shun said sharply before glancing away, "Not unless she wanted it. I already promised this, after seeing what happened between you and Mac."
The reaper let out a sight, trying to think of a way to word what he meant exactly.
"Before. When she found out about what I did in regards to my family, she was already worried she might lose sight of who she was. Because some of the things I did were against what she felt was right. But she was willing to dismiss those. Right now.. I think she wants to grow cold to the idea of killing and things like that because then it wouldn't hurt her as much."
He paused, grimacing.
"If she does that.. she might end up like me. Almost emotionally dead. Practically devoid of 'fun' laughter and all of that. She'd.. definitely lose any sense of innocence she has left as well."

"Good..." She heaved a sigh of relief and grabbed her glass of matcha again, taking small sips as she went silent; this was a lot to take in. Ever since she found out about Shun's family and thus, background, she came to slowly understand why he acted the way he did when they first met, and why he was so foreign to the idea of having fun...
"Thus you should talk to her, tell her how you feel," She attempted to smile, "Besides, we're not going to make killing anyone a normal thing... It's... Only if necessary... And are you going to continue your family business, Shun? You did betray them..."

"I did. I warned her. But.." Shun's words trailed off there. Mitsu had said that it wasn't really important. And.. well. It kinda wasn't. But at the same time it was. He couldn't really word it. But the idea of her being like that bothered him.
"And I don't know. I'm not even really sure where I stand to them right now. Either they picked up on what I've done or see me as a huge failure for allowing a group of them to be captured like that. Either way I likely have a few things coming the next time I run into my father," he said quietly, "They weren't really much of a family to me anyway."
But at the same time, for a long time, that lifestyle was really all he knew.

"I see... I like to believe that love will see the both of you through this. I can only... Tell you this much, but if you ever need a listening ear or two, I'll be here for both of you," She paused, "In a way, despite how cold you are, you can still love - for Mitsu, for Xiu - and I think that's most important."
He would get a few forehead pets, "Do what you think is right but... If you think they suspect you for anything, don't go back where they can trap you. And Shun, Mac told me that adopting my friends is weird, but we're family! I see you as family... I think some people might not say it outright, but friends are, in a way, like family, right? And family look out for each other."

Did love have that sort of power to be able to pull them through something like this? He had no clue.
"Eh. Right or wrong never were really things I've thought about. I Just do what I have to," he said before blinking as she patted him on the head. Always with the patting. Shun didn't quite get it still.
"Is.. that what really a family is all about?"

"A family supports each other and looks out for one another," She nodded, giving his forehead one last pet before she leaned away, "When someone is hurt, you can't help but feel angry and upset at the person hurting them. And like a real family, we get upset and angry at each other, and we might disagree about certain things-" She paused briefly here, "But in the end, we're still working towards the same goal. Making sure that the people we care about are safe."
Which was why the killing had to be done.
"Maybe your family wasn't like this, but we're your family now," She offered him a small smile, "And I think that's what this family is all about."

No, his father was far from supportive. That was for certain. The associates weren't really much better for that matter. Shun fell silent for a little while, thinking this over. It certainly sounded nice. But in a way, he could still see some of the dangers of these things.
The easiest way to get to someone, was to target the ones they care about.
"That doesn't sound too bad. I just hope it won't end up being exploited at some point."
Personally, if Mitsu were in trouble and he knew it was a trap... he'd still go anyway. Most likely Lizzy would do the same should it be Mac instead.

"Just because it might get exploited doesn't mean everyone should abandon their emotions," She believed in this; she believed that it was worth it, to have loved than never to have loved at all, "But it still pays to be careful... Especially since the hunters had started to move. It pays... To be cautious around people we don't know."
What Shun doesn't know is that she'll most likely do it for Shun too. Or Mitsu.
