Yomi smiled glad that Lerin's thinking was close to his own. Well it seemed like fishing it was. It had been a while since he had gone but as a predator one didn’t really forget how to hunt a certain type of animal. He nodded and waited for Lerin to start leading the way. Sure his sense of direction was very good but even he would get lost easily in a terrain he didn’t know. Plus knowing his friend she would like taking charge and leading. Well hopefully some times she got distracted by all the talking and inadvertently ended up following the person who had no idea where they where going. “So was there any one special?” Tsukiyomi asked tilting his head to the side. “Ah Lerin watch out for the…. Tree” he trailed off shaking her head. The question wasn’t that startling seriously.

Lerin was leading the way and slightly humming to her self considering Tsukiyomi probably didn’t want to talk anymore. He wasn’t exactly the most social of foxes, which was fine for her. Back when they where all together she’d do all the talking when they where partners and most of the time the two would sit back and watch Kat and Phelios go at it, or yomi would silently stare at Micail and try to plot his demise. So it was definitely a bit of a surprise when he spoke up and then to ask her that of all things. Lerin knew he was asking about a boyfriend. Most of her friends knew she was straight so it definitely wasn’t to ask about a girlfriend. It startled her so much that she stared a little bit too long at him and went walking straight into the tree. Oh modeities did that hurt.

“Seriously, I can ask questions like that when ever I want its nothing to be so shocked over you run into a tree” Tsukiyomi shook his head and stared at the girl in front of him. Walking over he lightly nuzzled her cheek and looked at her with that same worried tone. Just because he was a bit miffed at the choice of response didn't mean she hadn't hurt herself by not paying attention.“Anyways are you okay? I know that must have hurt, a lot” he said helping her up the best he could. He was also a little miffed his question hadn’t been answered but any time he asked something that was a bit more human like everyone always blanked out and stared at him with a funny expression. Seriously was it really that strange? He wasn’t a robot; he had a normal childhood like every other fox. Heck he even had a younger brother …younger half brother.

God had she mentioned how embarrassing that was. On top of the whole fiasco she just had to do it in front of Yomi, who she had a major crush on. She was quite sure her face rivaled the color of her hair. “Yeah I’m okay, I’ll just ask the ground to eat me first and then we can continue on to the fish” Lerin replied. When Yomi laughed and helped her up she continued the journey towards the fish. “No I haven’t found any one special” Lerin replied. After all she really really liked Yomi and everyone else she had met had been girls. After growing up in an all female household she was as straight as could be. Didn’t mean she was against being bi or outright gay. Everyone was entitled to their own preferences after all. She was pretty sure Helios was bi, although the only one he'd go after was Rei.

“Oh really.” Was his cryptic answer. He could tell from the looks Lerin kept giving him every once in a while that she was dying to know why he had asked that question. He just gave her a smug smile and kept walking towards the fish. Eventually Lerin would drop it in favor of something else or hopefully forget about it, although Tsukiyomi would definitely answer her unsaid question later on. However right now it wasn’t important. In fact it wasn’t even the time to spring the reason why he asked. It had to have the right timing after all. Silencing his still grumbling stomach was. He hoped the river or what ever body of water Lerin was taking him to was relatively close. He felt like he hadn’t eaten in weeks instead of a few measly hours. He gave her an expectant look and smiled as she got up ready to lead towards what he could only assume was the water source again.

Lerin flat out stared at him before slightly sharpening her gaze into a glare. Tsukiyomi could be a cryptic b*****d at times. She knew she wasn’t going to get answers out of him at the moment, but she wasn’t going to let him just think she let it go. Nope she would get him later on in the day when he was off guard. Of course she could also hear the slight gurgling noises of his stomach and she realized it would be bad of her as a host to keep him away from his first meal of the day. Okay so back on track it was, Lerin quickly searched the area for any land marks that may allow her to regain her sense of place, spotting a section of familiar trees she nodded and turned towards Tsukiyomi indicating that she was about to lead the way again. The rest of the way was a bit silent until they reached the edge of the forest. A good sized and strong paced river greeted them, sweeping hundreds of gallons of water towards the ocean. “well looks like we finally arrived” she commented.

Tsukiyomi let out a small sigh of relief as Lerin seemed to drop it. However he knew his partner would never give up this easily. He followed her silently and took a quick look at his surroundings. It would be good to find his way out of the forest again if he needed it. Eventually they came to the river and the both of them realized a big problem with their river journey. “Yep I can see that, apparently this idea wasn’t the most original” Tsukiyomi decided looking upstream where there just so happened to be a bunch of bears aiming for the jumping fish as well. Sure you could still fish in such an area but you had to be super careful. You never knew when a bear was going to decide to attack you for your fishing spot. He looked over towards Lerin to see what her feelings on the matter seemed to be. Of course his stomach decided it was going to answer for them at that moment and he knew Lerin was going to challenge the bears in a way just to get him his fish. She had a thing about doing that for her friends.

Ugh why did they have to ruin her get together? Couldn’t the bears be in hibernation like they where supposed to be. Sure it was nearing spring and in all actuality she should have remembered that the fish would probably bring the bears but who could blame a girl for trying to be happy and have a nice outing with her friend. She looked over towards Tsukuyomi who seemed to be asking her if she wanted to stay. Of course before he could actually get the words out his stomach growled again. Lerin looked up towards where the bears where fishing and started weighing the cons of staying here. Well they weren’t too close to the bears after all that would be suicidal. She wasn’t sure if modifoxes could out run bears but she definitely didn’t want to find out today. “Yep we’re fishing, what host would I be if I let a little danger get in the way of my food. Besides compared to some of the other stuff we’ve pulled off this is nothing” she answered.

Well once again his red haired friend reminded him that it was good to realize some things never change. He could just feel the need to face the challenge straight on rising in his friend. Luckily Lerin was never really the suicidal type either, she always knew when it was time to back away so Tsukiyomi trusted her to know when to back out. Of course he would also have his guard up as well. Now to the other important task at hand, catching the fish and then being able to eat the fish. Hopefully the bears wouldn’t want to go for an easier meal and steal the fish from them. Knowing he was going to have to submerge a part of his body in the cold water. He took a deep breath and slid into the water hissing as the coldness started to creep into his skin. Lerin would take up the spot from the bank and leap in to pounce when she thought a fish was in range. He lunged after a few fish hoping to catch some but unluckily they seemed to be the victor at the moment.

Lerin just smiled at the disbelieving shake of head Yomi had done when he realized Lerin was going to chance the bears of course then the sap had to go and be a gentleman and be the one to slide into the river. She read his movements as she was to take the bank spot. Normally on a summer day and definitely a less bear filled day they would both be in the water but this way they where implementing two types of fishing and hopefully would get a few fish faster so that they could leave before they where challenged for their food. She felt kind of bad for him as he kept missing moving around in that water had to be cold. Shaking her head she looked back down to the task at hand and then up as she saw a flying fish come towards her. It looked as if Yomi had managed to flick it out of the water with his tail. With a flying leap she managed to tackle it down on two the bank and bite a good chunk out of it killing it. Well there was one fish down now just three more.

Tsukiyomi sighed and lunged for a fish again only for it to slip out of his gasp and to whack its tail into his face. Obviously this was going to get them no where and he would die of frostbite. However what if he only needed to get them out of the water for a few seconds, he was sure Lerin would quickly catch on and get them to the ground. Testing his theory he began trying to smack the fish towards the bank with his tail when they tried to jump. The first few times didn’t work so well however after he got the timing right a fish was sailing through the air. Lerin looked a bit surprised but she quickly caught on. Then again if she was slow to the uptake Tsukiyomi would have never taken her as his partner when they where at war in the tribe. He smiled well that was one fish down. “I’ll start sending them your way” he spoke up to show it wasn’t a one time thing and turned back to his task of batting the fish towards Lerin.

Lerin nodded having guessed her partners plan as soon as she saw the fish flying towards her. If he had accidently flicked it out towards her Yomi would have warned her. She let out a smile and got ready to catch the rest of them. She missed working together with her friend. It felt good to be able to read what he was going to do to some extent and work along side some one you trusted. Others often referred to them as mates which always brought a smile to their faces and a denying blush from Lerin. She never minded the comments and some times wished Tsukiyomi would ask. However he didn’t and Lerin figured he had some one else in mind or just didn’t have the time. Speaking of the time, another fish came flying towards her. This one started to escape towards the river again since she had lost attention but she quickly dragged it back up shore and next to the fist fish. Hmmm two more, although they where pretty big fish. Maybe accent the meal with berries and nuts and three fish would do nicely.

Tsukiyomi sighed and turned towards catching the rest of the fish. Considering he now had another plan the next two fish came pretty easy. However there was a certain uneasy feeling that often came with being watched. Some how Yomi didn’t think it was the best of ideas to chance getting another fish. He could tell Lerin felt rather uncomfortable as well if the small amount of fidgeting was any indication. Wading over towards the bank he placed two hands up on said bank and lifted himself up walking over towards Lerin who was moving towards a fish her self. It was about the moment she touched the fish a bear made its self present. Ugh couldn’t it just have been an easy fishing trip. They where almost done too.

Lerin smiled and looked at their two fish. All they needed now was a fourth one. It was about then that Lerin got the feeling of being watched. She inched towards the fish and the second her jaws where biting into the fish a loud growl caught her attention and she looked up to see a hungry angry bear who wanted her fish. With a grin she noticed Tsukiyomi had gotten out of the water at some point and grabbed his own fish. With an obviously hidden smile she tossed the fish she was holding at the bear distracting it since its gaze was following the path of the fish and she grabbed the last one high tailing it out of there. Once she was far enough away she set the fish down and slumped against a tree letting out a laugh. “I think it would have been awesome to see the bears face when it realized we disappeared.

Tsukiyomi shook his head and gave a straight faced look towards his friend. “It was lucky we got away. The bear was distracted by food this time and obviously starving but it could have just as easily decided to switch its attention back towards us because we moved.” Tsukiyomi shook his head. One of them had to be realistic at the moment, even if it had been a bit fun running away. “Well it’s true we could have lost all our fish and maybe have been mauled if it wanted to come with us. No don’t give me that look” Yomi warned narrowing his gaze into a glare. It was pretty half hearted though. I guess we’re going to go after some berries and nuts next considering we didn’t catch enough fish for a decent meal? Come to think of it do you still know where we are?” Yomi asked. They had done a good share of running. There wasn’t really time to catch bearings at all. However it wouldn’t be too surprising if they where lost either.
