Mot fussed in the kitchen, boiling water and getting their tea ready. He heard Hel grouching and was set to dismiss it as nothing until he heard a thud.
Did... did she kill Freya?
Mot left the kitchen only to see Hel trying to pick herself up from the floor. Mot wanted to panic and help her up, but he knew how that would end. "Hel.." He started, rubbing the bridge of his nose. "You aren't trying to move, are you?" He sighed, certain Freya would deal with her and went back to fix the tea. Anything he tried to do would be met with harsh words and violence anyway. She wasn't hurting herself yet, so he'd let it be.
He finished up the three teas, and set them on Hel's nightstand. Then? He sat down on the floor where Hel lay. He took up a teacup, and held it out for Hel.
"Tea?" He asked with a dead pan voice and poker face.

As soon as her sister dropped off the bed, Freya was up like a bolt, moving to look over the side. "Hel! Hel, are yeh-" Of course she was okay, Freya scolded herself. Hel was always okay, even when she wasn't. She swung her legs around the bed to get off on Hel's side, but paused when she saw Mot walk in, carry the tea over and hold it out for Hel.
Hot, scalding tea. Freya's legs slowly inched back up the bed, away from the line of fire, and she held her breath as she waited - no, hoped Hel didn't do something stupid she would regret later. Even her tears stopped, though she quickly wiped away what was left of them so Mot wouldn't see.

Hel just huffed, her chest rising and falling angrily from the pained protest in her back, and from the treatment she was receiving.
She turned a heated glare to Mot, and then down at the tea. Really, what she was about to do next was rather predictable. A hand whipped out, knocking the tea cup out of his hand and flinging it across the room. “I do not want any tea.” She seethed. “We had a talk, Mot.” She started in on the cowboil, absolutely livid. All she wanted was to be alone right now. Why couldn’t they heed that request? “We talked about saying what we wanted. If you care for me at all!” She snapped. “You will do what I ask, what I want. I want you to leave. You are of no use to me right now.”
Freya was ignored for right now. She’d deal with her as soon as she got Mot.

In hindsight? The tea was probably a baaaad idea.
Mot wasn't terribly surprised by her actions and just sighed, taking his own tea and sipping it. It was just easier to ignore the horrible feeling he was having. He couldn't help Hel. He could do nothing for her. In his heart, he thought just being by her side was best for her. Just being there. But the longer he stayed, the angrier she got.
The talk they had? Oh right, when he had snapped at her for something stupid. Something he really regretted now.
Do whats he wanted. She wanted him to go away. He was of... no use.
No use?
There was nothing worse than feeling useless. "I do care for you." He murmured, finishing off the last of his tea. "More than you know.." Mot set his cup aside and got to his feet. "Fine. Have it your way. If you don't need me, I won't come back."
Mot's spurred boots clicked behind him as he left the room, shutting the door firmly behind him.
A coward. That's all he was. He could never be the man she needed.

The tea flew into the air, splattering riiight where Freya's legs had been, and she flopped back onto the bed, grateful for her hindsight. She stared up at the ceiling while Mot spoke, his carefully guarded words hiding the sudden exit he was about to perform. She vaulted up to a seated position when she realized Mot was actually leaving, and stared with mouth agape as Hel let him go.
"Odin's beard, Hel, are yeh out of yehr mind? He LOVES yeh, yeh stubborn fool, don't lets him walks away from yeh like that!" She climbed back down to bend over the bed, staring at her sister as she lay on her stomach. "For the love of all the gods in Valhalla, crumpet, please. I know yehr hurtings, and I'll never understands how much. But that don't means I don't cares enough teh stops yeh from makings the biggest mistake of yehr life. Please."
She looked at the now closed door, and winced in sadness. "Don't lets him walks away."

Hel was quiet as Mot left, and didn’t bother to look in his direction until she heard the sound of the door closing. There was an ache in her heart, though she tried to squash it down. She really didn’t want him to leave, but she was in pain right now, and she’d just be miserable, and she didn’t want him to be around her while she was like that. He was better off gone.
“Tch.” The reaper gave a non-committed shrug. “I doubt there is love there.” Hel muttered, “Especially after that. But you would know, would you not? Since you are the expert and all. You could give me some pointers, hm?” The ghoul mocked before hissing in pain. “I am not letting him walk away, I am making him walk away, Freya. It is better this way.” She looked up at the older Valkyrie. “Now. Are you going to help or not? Because I will let you, but after I am settled, you need to leave me be for a few days.” Hel glared. “If you heed this request…I will let you stay at my side. No fuss.”
Hel really didn’t want to try and bargain with her at all, but this really would be her best bet for at least a few days of silence…until the Trials anyways. Hel wasn’t about to tell her she was going to those…

"It is NOT better this way." Freya practically roared, vaulting off the bed and leaping to stand in front of her sister. The mere idea that Hel needed help filled her with a surging need to comply, and she bent down to carefully wrap her arms around Hel's middle, waiting for her sister to grab hold before very slowly helping her up. "Yehr wrong. Yehr wrong, and it's my fault yehr wrong."
Freya settled Hel back on the bed, and pulled away, frowning in defeat. "I thought yeh'd already realized by now that I was the idiot here, Hel. I was the one who thought love was for fools. If yeh lets yehrself start teh thinks that, yehr only goings teh hurts yehrself more. But now yeh've gone and let him walk away, and yeh has teh sits here and deals with it."
Freya sat down at the edge of the bed, firm and stubborn - nothing like Mot's calm numbness. "And I'm goings teh sits with yeh. Yeh can't get up without hurting yehrself, and yehr goings teh needs things. Like food and a good shower, eventually. Besides, if I lets yeh alone for a few days, yeh'll just lock me out and never lets me back in."

The reaper winced as her sister roared, and this time she didn’t resist as Freya helped her up, resting her hands on the ghoul’s shoulders until she was on her bed once more. She groaned at Freya’s words, not wanting to hear it at all. She was already dealing with it, and she didn’t want to focus on it. It was easier to let herself get lost in the pain of what once was than of the pain she just inflicted right now (due to the pain of loss in the first place). “Will you just shut up already?” She snapped. “So help me shower and get food, and then leave me be a few days.”
Hel snorted. “You act like a lock would hold you back, when we both know it would not. Besides, my word is my word. If you will not leave me alone for a few days, so gods help me, sister. I will make this more ******** miserable for the both of us than it already is.”

At last, Hel was starting to relent. Somewhat. Freya took her offer at face value, seriously considering it for a moment. After all, Hel was right - no locks were going to keep her from her sister if she really wanted to get to her.
"Well.." She hedged, eyeing the bed for a moment. "Weeeell.. how many days is a few days?"
Nobody wanted to deal with a miserable Hel if they could avoid it. Freya least of all.

Oh thank Jack, Freya was relenting.
Hel clung to it like a leech to a blood supply source. “At least two days. Three would be desired, though I have a feeling you would not agree to anymore than that.” She didn’t live with her sister for nearly seventeen years now and not know how she operated. “Do we have a deal?” She narrowed her eyes and waited.

At least Hel was sounding a little more like herself. Maybe Freya wasn't so useless of a sister, after all. She wasn't screeching like a harpie and throwing things, at least..
"Mmmm... three days. BUT. Yeh lets me feeds yeh tonight. And change yeh so yeh can sleeps in something clean. And the first day starts today, anyway. So technically, is more like two and a half days."
Her eyes widened just a bit, daring Hel to argue. "Then.. I'll go, and I'll be right across the hall, so if yeh needs me, I can hears yeh. I'm not goings anywhere. Not teh Herryk's, not teh class, nowhere. I'll be right there, if yeh needs me." She waited in silence to see if Hel would agree to her terms.

Hel groaned, but mulled it over. Just a few hours, she told herself. Just at least a few more hours, and then she could sleep. Just a few more hours and then everything could stop existing for a few days. “Deal.” Hel hissed. “Let us get this over with now. I am tired.”
She just needed to survive a shower, a change of clothes, and maybe food…oddly enough though, she wasn’t hungry.

A deal well made! Freya nodded her head sharply and hopped off the bed. "Okay! Food first, I go makes it! Yeh stays there, don't moves, I'll makes one of yehr favorites."
And she disappeared, off to cook something hot and filling, and perhaps find a little penance in the small moments Hel would allow her to take care of her that night.

The reaper sighed, and flopped back on her elbows.
She wasn’t hungry, but a deal was a deal. Just a few more hours. She kept reminding herself of that. Just a few more hours and she could sleep. She could make the Haunted House go away, she could make the loss go away, she could make the pain go away, and while sleeping, she could make the ache in her heart at pushing Mot away go away too.
