Twice in a row either really did mean he was going easy on her after all or she was getting better. Ofelia's brain tried to go with the getting better but Rue didn't seem to agree. He's going easy on you because when he goes to stomp you into the ground he wants to see how dejected you look. Yeah, that actually sounded about right. I'm glad we could agree on something. Perhaps you're not as stupid as you. . . no, no, you're still retarded. Just when it sounded like Rue was going to say something nice her entire tone changed, and Ofelia could feel the pulse from within her weapons.
Rep's taunt stood, for her to hit him hard, and she sighed as the red runes on her weapons suddenly flared up. "Okidokie. Ah'll do what Ah can." She took a stance, slid a foot forward, and then moved in to strike. She didn't hit just once, not taking all of Rue's power into a single blow. Rather she hit several times, both arms moving to hit different places and release different amounts of stress on his FEAR shield. At the end of it she released a back hand, hoping to knock Rep away enough that his recovery might buy her some time.
Ofelia was getting lucky, but she doubted she'd win this at all.

The hit was much stronger than Rep thought it would be and knocked him back a good distance, actually making him reel, shaking his head. He gave her a delighted feral look, not looking bothered by the pain from the strike, more amused. He'd certainly felt it though, it was clear by the way he less walked and more staggered as he picked up the axe again.
"Hahah. That was a niccceee one." he crooned "More than a little ******** love tap. Seems like there /is/ a reason you are in sun then. You can hit when you want to."
He swung out again with Tracey, but slow enough it'd be simple to dodge, still somewhat dazed.

"Ah didn' really ask ta be put in Sun - when Ah came outta the place Ah got Rue they threw a jacket at me an' sent me on mah way. It wasn' 'til Ah asked Gale 'bout it that Ah even knew what the sun meant." Ofelia shrugged as she spoke, moving to dodge the blade Rep was heaving and get in some light strikes of her own. She didn't need to pound into him super hard - whittling him down worked just as well. She could call herself DPS and feel good about it.
Rue said she needed to hit more often dammit.

He finally got back down to business, hefting the axe up, this time over his shoulders before bringing it around in a broad sweeping arc with a snarl. As it connected he heard Tracey's hiss of pleasure, apparently his axe was turning into quite the FEAR junkie.

He hit her fair and square and Ofelia winced, feeling the blow hit her FEAR shield. How many hits was that? Should she brace herself? Ofelia felt nervous, but well - obviously not nervous not to strike. She took a few steps towards Rep and hit him square in the side with her right fist, Rue's voice chanting in her ears.
Defend yourself, then prepare yourself. We're going to strike again, we'll take him down. Rue's voice was a thin hiss of disgusting pleasure and Ofelia jumped back from Rep, moving her arms into a defensive position. Charging up the runes to attack usually left her open - she needed to be ready.
"Brin' it on." She hoped to God she didn't regret that taunt.

He shook his head, no, he'd wait. He could ignore the creepy groans and..noises..and OH ******** HELL OKAY.
Swearing loudly, he swung Tracey around in a massive arc, triggering the pent up charge. He was aware right away that he'd ******** it up, even as he went wide of the mark. And yet he couldn't stop himself, doing a full 360 spin before he could even slow the axe, sinking it into the ground.

. . . . . . Ofelia was too properly shocked to attack, even though Rue was fully charged and ready to go. Instead she watched Rep spin around with a horrified look on her face, unsure of what to do.
By the time she figured it out Rue had already eaten the charge and she was left wanting. ********. ". . . . . Rep that was sommin'."

After his initial strike it seemed that he'd lost his focus completely, and as he struck again, it was another feeble glancing blow.

Yeah Ofelia was admitting her failures to Rep, almost like she was trying to cheer him up. Something was off about him, she could feel it, but seeing as they were in the middle of battle she didn't need to pry. Instead she just shifted into a fighting position again and waited to be struck once more.
"Would ya like ta get some cake when this is over? Ah know how ta bake over an open flame since the kitchen's been blown ta hell."

"Haha. At least you beat the ******** halloween people. I've lost about..oh ninety percent of all the fights I've fought since I got here. And that's a LOT of ******** fights. But you didn't hear that from me." He pointed Tracey at her accusingly. "You just happened to be one of the ******** fights I actually /won/."
He gave her a grim little smirk as he swung out again. "If ******** only. There's like no eggs or anything on the island since the kitchen got ******** up. Mmh god. I'd ******** murder someone for some ******** /cake/."

Ofelia started to run a list of things in her mind that she could make without having to use eggs and she stumbled on a few of them without too much trouble. "Ah can make chocolate then, or fudge. Ah can make pies too, s'not hard ta cook or bake stuff wit' limited supplies. Ya brin' me anythin' canned an' Ah can work wit' it." Despite still talking she was careful in her movements, dodging as she could but still taking a blow here and there. She struck back, whittling down his shield as she said she would, and she thought about what Rep was saying.
"A'course Ah won' tell no one - no one talks ta me anyway. Most people 'round here think Ah'm crazy so hardly a loss fer me. Ah'm probably one'a the best people ta tell secrets ta." Oh....Ofelia could ask make ice cream. "Oh, how 'bout some ice cream?"

Oh he saw how it was. She was going to talk about ******** delicious food. That was the tactic was it? Distract him with talk of wanton sugary delights so she could win the fight. Well NOT TODAY.

Ofelia winced as the attack ate into her FEAR shield and she punched at Rep a bit more, her attacks still slowly chewing him down. He was probably going to take her down easily in his next run, but at least she'd done far more to him this time than she had before.

It was a touchy subject for Rep. He was out of sweets and there was scarce few opportunities to restock, it was a constant open wound for him. So his anger at the teasing idea of ice cream when he knew deep down it was unreasonable to hope, was intense.
"There's no ******** ice. There's nothing here. The kitchen is ruined. All hope is gone for sugary treats."
He lashed out again, this time with much less focus, but enough to siphon some more fear, enough for Tracey to sound his approval.
