Beloved Shapeshifter

"Somewhere." He had seen some, Rio had actually been writing poetry not too long ago. The question was where it had been put away once the god was done with it. Still in his room maybe? Leo set his mug down on the tray again and rose gracefully to his feet. "I will go look, it will not take long."

With that he disappeared from the room and down the hall again, only to Love's room this time. As he thought it did not take him long to find what Akakios had asked for and he returned in short order with paper, pen and the small lap writing desk he had seen Rio use. "Will these do?" He set the lap desk down, placing the paper and pen on top if it before resettling himself across from the young god again.

There was definitively something child-like in his wonder and curiosity - the colors, the fabrics, he could definitively make some connections to his uncle and see how they all related.

It would be in such a state of barely-restrained curiosity that Leo would walk back into the room - nearly startling Lament, in fact, but the young god simply seemed to pretend that had never happened.

"That will do just fine..." The pen was tapped on the paper in thought, for a moment, and then he started looking up words.

"Thank you, for helping me." Leo brushed a loose lock of dirty blonde hair away from his eyes, resettling himself so he knelt abeyante- hands folded in his lap and face turned down to his lap- it was an expression of respect, and ultimately subservience, that ran bone deep now as the rest of his training did. Still he could not help but tentatively watch the young god through his lashes again. It was interesting to watch him work, Akakios seemed to focused on his task that everything else just seemed to disappear for him.

Really, Akakios was not used to be showed such reverence, and the glance Leo would get though his eyelashes would make it rather obvious that the poor boy had no idea how to actually react to that. Really, as a child... Mortals had been respectful but... Well. Not quite like this.

This was... kind of strange.

"It is no problem, really." He finally said.

'Adorable' was the only thing he could think of when he noticed Kios' expression and thankfully he managed to suppress the urge the chuckle, that would be rude after all. Though he could not stop the smile that crossed his lips. Leo wondered what he could have done that caused Lament to give him a look like that.

"I hope I have not offended you...?" A slightly roundabout way to fish for an answer, but he was curious.

He simply was not used to being looked up to. He was used to being the baby brother, really, and now, of course, his growth had more or less made everything different and a great deal more awkward.

Now, it looked like he had finally started to find the words he had been looking for, and started transcribing them for Leo.

No real answer then? Ah well. Leo's posture relaxed somewhat but he still did not look up at Kios directly. Some people did not like to be watched while they worked and he did not know the young god's preferences so he did his best to be mostly unobtrusive. It was like dealing with a patron one did not know well; middle ground was always the easiest and safest place to remain.

"Do you find yourself teaching often, or is it something new?"

His script was very legible, and all the letters were even without the god needing to put too much effort or thought into it. The results of months of practice, nearly constant, of a time when Endiovar had to more or less kick him out of the library so he could actually do something that was not transcribing every now and then.

"Other than that... Not really. I learned a lot from everyone else, through." It would probably be hard for Leo to visualize, but he was one of the handful that had been remade, and not reborn. It was not that long ago that he still visually looked like a child.

"So hopefully this will make sense." He looked amused right then.

"I am sure it will." If it didn't turn out that way, well, that just meant Leo had more to learn than he first realized.

Ah...that's right! Echo had mentioned more than one child now that he thought about it. "Your younger brother?" It was more a question to ask for the sake of conversation than anything else. The D'Angeline was curious, yes, but he would not press or pry more than Akakios wished. His gaze wandered to Lament's hands, watching them as he wrote. It was obvious enough he was a practiced scribe, with how neat and elegant his writing looked.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show."My older brother, actually." However one could call it, at any rate. It certainly did not look like that to someone who had not known them, and he knew very, very well that Sotiris had not taken it well.

Actually, if his near constant struggle with his books when he was actually back in his mother's room (which was increasingly little, he had to admit) had anything to do with it, Guardian still was not taking it well.

It did not surprise Akakios at all. That was Sotiris being Sotiris, more or less, and he was used to it.

"No one ever got him to sit still long enough." That he had managed it was... Well, almost a miracle it itself, and his smile made his amusement clear. "I think he was just sick of having the 'baby brother' read everything for him, so he more or less made me teach him."

Not that he had minded, but... still amusing.

There might have been a flicker of surprise in his expression when Akakios answered his question, but it was gone quickly. Younger siblings teaching the older ones, that was certainly different. Things did not work that way where he came from. It was always the older adepts whispering secrets to the younger ones, usually letting them know about things they should not know yet. Not quite the same but it was the closest context he really had.

"Still, reading is a good skill to have." His brother was probably grateful too, now that he did not have to depend on Lament for it.

"How does this looks so far ?" He held out the paper for Leo to look over.

Leo leaned over somewhat to get a better look at what Akakios had written so far. It was neat, tidy and easily readable. As for it being in common, well, he could sound things out and figure out the words that way- like he had been taught to do as a child when learning Cruithne and Caerdicci. He nodded. "Looks good."

You can keep the dictionary, through if you could return it to the library when you are done, I would appreciate it." He'd had to hunt down enough books as it was.

"Let me know if you need me again, hm ?" He offered, before taking his leave.

"I certainly will." Leo moved to stand as well, it would only be polite to walk him to the door. "The library would be the place to find you as well?" He was not entirely sure on that point, but it seemed a fair assumption. Before Lament could slip his veil back on the D'Angeline leaned over giving him a soft, chaste, kiss on the cheek. Normally he would have taken his hand and kissed the back of it instead, but seeing as they were covered in ash it was not really an option. "Thank you, again, Akakios. I really appreciate it." He stepped to the side and opened the door for him.
