Alex looked over to the girl when she started showing off the thing that her father designed. If he knew how to he would have raised an eyebrow. It looked just like a Pokegear, but there was obviously something different with it. He quickly looked over to his wrist at the one that his dad gave him and they looked really similar. It was probably something different though. When she pointed to a drink he looked at it. He had never seen it before so it was probably a local thing and had already pushed the button before she said her comment about a sugar rush.
He was just about to open the drink when someone else came over. He looked a lot older then the girl did, and he looked like he knew what he was doing. Alex guessed that he was probably a strong trainer, or a breeder or something like that. He introduced himself as Alex took his first sip of the drink and two things happened. The first is that Alex's brain told him that the name was familiar, and the second was that it sent out hundreds of thoughts in that same second. He wanted to run around, climb a building, and see if he could make it to the next town in a few seconds all at once.
When the other two started walking somewhere Alex absently mindedly followed without paying attention as his mind was moving at a speed that he had never felt before. When Belle was attacked by a Shinx his mind snapped back to a state that was relatively normal. He had to catch it. He started digging through his bag before pulling out a pokeball and turning around in time to see the cat go flying. "Aaawww," he groaned as he looked over to Belle to see her holding her Charmander and sitting next to a big person sized purple almost human looking pokemon. He froze as he thought that it was a weird looking Nidoqueen and if he stayed still it would leave him alone.

Dante hurried over to the scene, anxious about Mewtwo being seen in public, concerned for the girl's safety and a little curious as to the psycat's actions. From the time they'd spent together Dante had gathered that Mewtwo was not a selfless person. The mere fact, therefore, that the Psychic had defended a young trainer - and revealed himself in the process - was astounding. Guess you do learn something new every day, the man thought as he hurried to the girl's side.
"Mewtwo, get off the route, there could be people coming by," Dante said tersely to the psycat. "What are you doing? Someone could see you." In truth, he was only concerned for Mewtwo's sake - there could have been any number of people who witnessed the event and would remember the white feline Pokemon. Fortunately, the route looked somewhat empty.
"Are you alright?" Dante said, turning to Belle. "Sorry I wasn't able to intervene in time." He had, in all honesty, been too caught up with nostalgia to do much more than simply follow the girl onto the route, instead reliving the memories of his first day as a trainer. He still remembered it now - Dahlia by his side, a Pokedex tucked into his jacket and an overwhelming feeling of optimism. It was a shame that the girl's experience had been ruined through his own inaction.

Level: 50 Moves: Atk: TM30 Shadow Ball/Atk: Psycho Cut/Atk: Barrier/Atk: Disable Trainer: None ***** He turned his attention to the girl and shrugged. It hadn't been something he'd thought too long about, inaction would have been ineffective in the situation. The girl was inexperienced, the only other person who was capable of helping her had been off in la-la land so he was the only one left that could do anything. The boy standing further out on the route was fixed with a glare that told him not to move. He would be chased down and didn't have a chance at escape. Moving would be a mistake at this point so just staying in place would be his best option. Mewtwo gave Dante a narrow-eyed Look that communicated his feelings for the Gym Leader's lapse in concentration and focus. It spoke of how the Gym Leader should have been paying attention to his surroundings even on a beginner route if not for the sake of the girl then for his own safety. Weak foundlings like the Shinx he'd knocked unconscious targeted humans that looked like easy pickings and lost in thought humans counted as such. The cat gave him another look that Dante had seen on more than one occasion since the two had known one another. It was asking if he'd actually mind if Mewtwo erased the memories of the two newbies. Also how dare he think Mewtwo was incapable of being selfless! He helped Dante out for no reason whenever one of the man's Pokémon couldn't get a specific job done. Hell he'd done the man's taxes earlier in the year because of the overwhelming number of Trainers backlogged for matches at the gym. Then again one could look at it as Mewtwo earning his room and board since the cat had quickly become spoiled - not that he would ever admit to it - by not having to live out in the wilds if he chose not to.

Belle turned around when she heard Alex's voice. She thought she'd left him back in Blyse? Ah, well. It was good that he was here . . . or maybe it wasn't. After all, she'd just completely screwed up in front of two people and a Pokemon. Ugh. She felt like a fool. Just then, Dante hurried over, and confused Belle as to how he knew the Pokemon. Then her confusion cleared up. It must have been his Pokemon. She nodded at him, replying, "Yes, I'm alright . . ." She looked down at Celisse. "But I can't say the same for my Pokemon here . . ." She looked back up at Dante, a guilty look in her eye. "I just screwed up big time, didn't I? I suppose most people don't completely screw up on their first battle."
She turned to the fallen Shinx, withdrawing a Pokeball. She threw it at the unmoving thing, and it was caught inside, trembling for a few moments before settling. "Yaaay~" Careful to balance Celisse, she picked up the Pokeball with the Shinx inside. "Hmm . . . You can be Lucius!" Pleased with her nickname for it, she clipped the Pokeball to her belt, turning to face the odd Pokemon again. "Uh . . . thank you again, ma'am . . . sir . . . thing."

Dante gave the psycat a hard look. Mewtwo already knew his thoughts on altering memories, regardless of keeping his identity a secret. Erasing the memories of children seemed even worse - they had so few thoughts already. "Get yourself out of here, I'll deal with this," Dante said curtly to Mewtwo. "Go find somewhere to hide."
That done, he turned back to the little girl. "Look, you didn't screw up," he said, trying to sound encouraging. "Everyone makes mistakes, alright? What's important is that you learn from it. And everything turned out alright, didn't it? You even found yourself a new friend," he said, gesturing to her new Pokeball. "Here, take these." Dante tossed her a pair of Revives and Potions.

Dante didn't have to worry about some overly eager idiot getting a hold of a Master Ball and capturing him. He would take the man's words as advice and not the command they made themselves out to be. In an over the shoulder sort of way, as he was making his way out into the tall grass that even most experienced Trainers avoided, the psychic informed Dante that the girl was completely unskilled in the ways most younger newbie Trainers weren't. The foolish child didn't have any kind of camping supplies! She probably couldn't light a fire or dig a necessity pit or do anything that would keep her alive on her journey. In short: find the girl's family and inform them of the predicament of their woefully under-prepared daughter. Also convince her to forget that he existed. The boy he didn't give another thought to. His childish mind couldn't recognize him as something other than a mutated version of a Pokemon that already existed and that was fine. He might talk about it but his age and inexperience would probably wind up getting nothing but guffaws and rejection to the idea that he'd seen something other than a regular Pokemon in an area it normally wasn't found in.

Belle nodded hesitantly at Dante's words. Still, she felt rather depressed that she'd harmed Celisse so badly. She shifted the weight of her Charmander to one hip when he threw her the objects, catching them lightly. She wasn't uncoordinated, so it wasn't all that hard. She tucked those away in her bag, smiling at Dante again. "Thank you so much~"
Unfortunately, the Pokemon showed no signs of understanding her. She sighed. She'd thought it might be something special, like a Psychic or Ghost type, but it just seemed to be a regular old one. Belle assumed that Dante wanted time to talk to the Pokemon, so she started moving back towards Blyse City. "I'm just going to the Pokemon Center, I need to get these ones rested up . . ." She hurried back to the city, easily able to spot the colourful center. She entered curiously, looking around. It seemed to be nearly identical to the one in Iclea. Fascinating. She caught sight of Nurse Joy behind the counter, and approached her quickly. "Hello, there. My name is Belle. I was wondering if you could take care of my Charmander and Shinx - they were injured in battle . . ."
"Of course, of course! Welcome to Blyse, Belle, I haven't seen you here before," Joy responded, accepting the proffered Pokeball and Charmander and vanishing, a Blissey trailing in her wake. Belle shrugged, wandering over and sitting down on one of the seats, watching the others in here. Most were trainers, urgent to get their teams healed up. Poor Nurse Joy - she must have countless patients, and need to work on them immediately. It wasn't long before she was called up, though, and the Nurse gave her back her Pokemon, declaring them healthy again. Belle nodded her thanks, paying them and leaving.
Celisse was clearly annoyed at her trainer. She walked a few feet in front, tail waving from side to side. "Err . . . we're going to go back to the Route, okay? For some more training?" The Pokemon nodded, switching direction and heading back out to the others.

When the weird looking Nidoqueen went away Alex sighed with relief. He knew that a new Pokemon couldn't take on a Nidoqueen in a fair fight, and he didn't know if the other person had a Pokemon on him, but he was able to convince it to leave with just a few words. Alex walked up to Dante and said, "How did you get that weird Nidoqueen to leave just by talking to it? Is it your Pokemon? Why did it look so skinny? Is something wrong with it?"

Dante flinched at the sound of the young trainer's voice. He'd forgotten about him. "Well, you see, it's not really my Pokemon," he said, attempting to invent a story on the spur of the moment. "I mean, it stays with me, sometimes, and follows me around, but I never really caught him - her," he finished, somewhat quickly. "She's just a bit more special than others - I mean, there's nothing WRONG with him - her, I mean - she's just a... special breed of Nidoqueen." With any luck, that would suffice as an explanation for the young boy.
"Now run along. You want to find more partners for your Pokemon to play with right?" he asked, gesturing to the open field. Mewtwo, where are you? he thought privately. We'll need to be going soon, this place is about to be crawling with trainers.

Alex didn't think that Dante was telling the complete truth when he was talking about the Nidoqueen thing, but it was probably the best that he was going to get, plus he reminded the child about getting other pokemon. "Ok, that makes sense." he said with a nod before he turned and ran into a patch of grass in the opposite direction that "the Nidoqueen" went.
It was rather quickly after he got into the grass that a Spearow seemed to pop out of the grass and fly right towards Alex as the grass was taller then Lin was. Alex dove out of the way and shouted, "Lin! Tackle it!" As he had already used the pokedex to see what moves the Oshawott could do. The little otter ran up and launched herself at the bird as it swooped down to try and find where Alex went. The tackle connected and it hit hard knocking the Spearow away and stunned it for a second as if it had no idea what just hit it. Right before it could do anything else Alex popped out of the grass and tossed a pokeball at it. After staring at the area in the grass that the ball landed and not seeing another flash of light Alex did a little dance then started searching for the ball.
"Well Lin," he said as he held up the ball, "Looks like you've got a friend..." it was then that the pokedex in his bag went off. 'Spearow. Little Bird Pokemon. It has a terrible attitude. It is very wild and will sometimes attack other Pokémon and humans.' Alex stared at the ball before putting it in his bag. "Uh, lets just save it in case we need something that has to fly to do something." Lin nodded.

Belle approached Dante again as she neared him, Celisse beating her to it. The Charmander roughly tugged on the man's pants, indicating its desire for attention. She reached down and picked up her Pokemon again, hoping she hadn't disturbed him. As she watched Alex scurry to find a Pokemon to capture, she spoke to Dante. "So, was that your Pokemon? That saved me? It must be very well-trained, it acted without your command," she mused. She'd like a Pokemon like that, one that could know how and when to help others while she wasn't present, but she knew that that would be a while away. None the less, she considered herself lucky to have Celisse and Lucius. One step at a time, right?

Alex was about to go deeper into the grass when he had an idea. The weird Nidoqueen guy obviously had good Pokemon, maybe he would have a few pointers on how to get the Spearow to like him and hopefully not attack him when he tried to use it for a fight. Thinking that was probably the best idea for the moment Alex turned around and started walking back towards Dante when he saw something else moving in the grass.
A Ledyba moved into sight and Alex stared at it for a few seconds before he looked at Lin. "Let's see if the Spearow will listen first," he said as he opened the pokeball for the bird. Before Alex could tell it to do anything it flew up then dove at the Ledyba rapidly pecking it a lot. It was rather obvious that the bug didn't stand a chance so Alex called the bird back into it's ball before it seriously hurt the thing. "Yeah... Let's not do that on a bug Pokemon again soon." Lin nodded and sighed.

Living in close quarters with the man lent him a special sensitivity to his thoughts. Sometimes that was a problem but right now it wasn't. The simple "speech" that most psychic Pokemon used (direct sharing of emotions and memories and current thoughts) wasn't getting through to the man in his distraction with the children. "The girl has no survival skills or supplies. She has no idea what to do with herself outside of a city. As you are the only league official around you may want to make the girl invest in some equipment for her journey and guide her for a short amount of time. Otherwise her affluent family may see fit to try and remove you of your title as Gym Leader."He hadn't had to read the girl's mind to know that she came from money, her clothing said it for her and her incompetence with directing her partner in battle let him know that no preparation had been made for her new path in life. It wasn't uncommon for Trainers just starting out to fumble some but most at least knew enough to keep their Pokemon from collapsing in their first battle against a wild opponent. Besides if Dante lost his title as a Gym Leader then Mewtwo wouldn't have a place to crash or a person to challenge to chess matches anymore. ***** OOC: So is this gonna be a group traveling thing or are we splitting up? I know I wrote it that way but it's really honestly still an open ended deal.

Alex safely got out of the grass without any other pokemon coming up. He didn't quite recognise where he was as it wasn't where he went into the grass, but there was a path, and he figured that he would have a one in two chance of finding Dante or going to the next city. He started walking down one direction and after a few seconds he saw the trainer and ran up to him.
"MR. NIDOQUEEN GUY!" he shouted as he got close to the Gym Leader. "I caught a Spearow but the Pokedex said that it would attack people. Is there anything that you can tell me that would make it not attack me?" he asked before he noticed Belle was back and waved to her.
