Apparently Sparrow was not the greatest knot-tier in the world.
He spent the next several moments attempting to rectify this.
Beside him on one side was the zombie boil that Sparrow recalled from...a long time ago, he realized. It was when the hunters had gotten into Amityville - he had seen the boil in Nurse Cricket's office afterwards, but not since then. Sparrow gave him a smile, and opened his mouth to greet him, but -
Except he was slightly deterred in his lasso making by the feel of a lasso landing around his arms and shoulders.
"Oh," he said, with a glance down at his own knot and then at Amarus', lifting a brow in amusement. "Well then."

After she'd managed to lasso Sparrow, Amarus heard a familiar voice, and her face lit up as much as the Lotus Eater's expression ever did.
"Mort!" she greeted him, with a smile. While she waited to see Sparrow's reaction, Amarus squeezed Mort's shoulder lightly and tilted her head at the knot tying.
Was it working okay? He was a lot more skilled with robots and tech than she was, but perhaps in the area of knots, Amarus was a little more coordinated. "Who thought War'd have us tying knots into plant-life?" she asked, her voice vaguely joking. Sometimes it was hard to tell, since her affect didn't always change to reflect when she was kidding.
Finally, remembering she had lassoed Sparrow and then... left it there. "Hello, Sparrow-- Sorry about your knot. I suspect that would be my fault." Amarus, eternal ruiner of all things.
She attempted to release it and lasso Mort, in a sort of friendly joking moment, but she failed and it sort of fell between them. Probably better that way, since it wouldn't ruin Mort's knot-tying that way.

Zurine hadn't been entirely sure about what this class would entail - I mean it was the clan of war, there was sure to be fighting, probably weapons - she was almost sure to get hurt. A lot. That's just what happened when you were a clumsy sort of person and put into a sparring situation. Her fear's only seemed to be confirmed when they arrived on the ground to see a nicely cleared out bit of land - perfect for sparring..and then the instructors got into a fight themselves. Yep she was definitely going to get bruised up in this class.
At least she had already resigned herself to this fact and quite cheerfully decided to attempt and not make a complete fool of herself at the very least. And so she was completely delighted - to the point where she was almost hopping up and down in absolute glee - when Faiza called forth her mount and they began to talk about riding and combat while mounted. This was going to be ...AWESOME!
Practically dancing in excitement Zurine rushed to the basket to secure herself a rope, already eyeing her fellow classmates for possible targets once she'd gotten her lasso made. She knew a few of them..and they of course would be at the top of her list, cause really what could be more fun then lassoing your friends? Sadly her excitement did not translate well to knot typing and her first attempt turned into nothing but a knotted mess.
"Blast" She declared, undoing it to try again and attempting to focus more on what she was doing and not so much the excitement over future classes.

"Quite all right," said Sparrow breezily, smiling brightly at Amarus. "And it's not your fault, my dear, it's that I apparently just have no aptitude for tying knots whatsoever."Quote: 1-2: You just knotted the rope. Try again.

"Don't either," Mort chimed in after Sparrow, greeting them both with smiles despite his failings. He would've returned Amarus's shoulder squeeze in some way, but he was distracted by the loop of vine-rope that nearly got him.
ouo "Er. Try 'gain?" he suggested, watching his knot come undone with a sigh. "Guess this part've weapon work. Tie things, make opponent stop - carry back like prize trophy."

Entering the clearing with her peers, Levi was energized and ready to have at something! The two horsewomen who were running the class asked that they introduce themselves and take their materials for activity they'd be participating in. Similarly to what she had done with the Heir to War, Levi bowed her head slightly and kept eye contact, shifting to look at one sister and then the other. Name's Levi. There was some deep respect she had for warriors like these. Perhaps she looked up to them in a role model-like way. Upon taking her rope, Levi got to work. Back home, they used a fair bit of rope when maintaining the candy corn vines against the lattices in the fields. She had particularly had to deal with double the chores when it came to ropes since her cousin Enis happened to be afraid of rope. The boil saw and then ran; Levi made her knot alright. Completely unaware just yet of the rope coming after her.

After he managed to get his rope together he gazed around and saw Levi. He recognized Levi from several weeks prior. He 'waved' to her meaning he swung his lasso a few times and used it to ensnare her for a couple of seconds in spite of what she was trying to accomplish just then. This was probably just a horrible excuse to be disruptive but not really. Seeing as this was a teacher sanctioned activity. Gotta do what ya gotta do. " Sorry~," Ket called out to Levi as he moved to get the other end of the lasso back so he could go about picking his next target.

"Who thought War'd have us tying knots into plant-life?" she asked, her voice vaguely joking. Sometimes it was hard to tell, since her affect didn't always change to reflect when she was kidding.
"Normally we'd have to do this on foot," Faiza unhelpfully chimed in, coming up behing Amaris and clapping her on the shoulder as she passed her, "But for you, we made an exception. Nice work so far, but you should consider twirling it a teensy bit faster to make it fly further." The horsewoman offered a grin before wandering off, watching the other students with faint amusement on her face.

Sparrow flashed a bright grin at Mort.
"Yes, well, apparently we can be...less than good at knot tying together."
And then there was more fumbling and knot tying and knot falling apart and Sparrow glared down at the rope in his hands.
"Come on, you, work with me here..."Quote: 5-6: You tie the knot, but then it unravels. Try again.

Oh jack, hello Faiza. Amarus went stiff, as stiff as a ghost could go anyway, as Faiza clapped her on the shoulder and passed by, giving her advice. Twirl it? Hm. Amarus thought about it sincerely, and in contemplation, attempted to focus and lasso someone she didn't know who was further away. After all, what else could she do? Mort and Sparrow were right next to her, and that was clearly not far enough away to actually lasso. "Loud and clear," Amarus managed to reply to Faiza, a little belatedly. She was pretty sure that she wanted to impress her, or at least her sister. Do something right. After all, last time the only thing she actually did right at Conquest was withstand 20 minutes of Invictus' unpleasant staring after she'd set the class on fire.
Little victories, Amarus. Little victories. She spun the lasso like Faiza had told her, and watched it fly.
"Like 'prize trophy?'" Amarus finally replied, belatedly, as she was very distracted by the classwork. She smiled at the boil, her mouth quirked up; she was clearly amused. She forgot how Mort looked at the world. The notion of any of them carrying off an opponent like a trophy seemed vastly amusing.
To Sparrow, she replied: "You're always so lenient with me," shaking her head. "If you're not careful, I'll get spoiled, and run wild altogether. Steal all the lassos."
The problem with Amarus' attention span meant that while she had definitely thrown the lasso far enough, she hadn't actually kept paying attention to target anything. Woops. She did watch Mort and Sparrow with some fascination, though. For now, she sat down and watched them quietly, so she wouldn't have to worry about her failure as a lasso thrower.

Once rope was reclaimed he began to pick out his next target but as he swung the lasso it fell short of landing around a pink haired ghoul and only lasso'd the ground. Oops.
...He kind of started to regather the rope while he gave the ghoul a small hapless grin.

"Would let steal all lassos if could help with knot luck," Mort replied with a chuckle as Sparrow's knot also came undone. Attempting not to do it too tightly, he ended up with his first result once more: too tight. Discarding the vine, he grasped another and eyed it critically, as if it was blatantly working against him.
"Yes, prize trophy! Or loot, if know video games. Got loot earlier; was kissed~" He swooned a bit at the memory. "On forehead, but still! Got new brain too. Famine people strange, but not all bad."
((I think Mort and Sparrow share the same luck XD))

Her slightly better focus seemed to make a little bit of a difference seemed to pay off at first and she cheerfully held up her knot with a gleeful "I did it!"...only to watch it completely unravel before her eyes.
"..or not.." She finished lamely before furrowing her brow and trying again. Knot typing it seemed took a bit more dexterity then Zurine was typically capable of showing. Still with practice she knew she'd get it right..eventually.

"My dear, I am only as lenient as you deserve to be," said Sparrow to Amarus, which didn't make much sense at all, but he was busy focusing on the fact that he could not seem to tie a simple knot.
He glanced over at Mort, lifting a brow. "Meet a nice ghoul, did you?' he asked, and grinned.
His knot came away again. Sparrow glowered at the rope.Quote: 1-2: You just knotted the rope. Try again.

And again it seemed like she had it all figured out, but nope, one little misplaced finger and the whole thing came crashing down again.
"This is way harder then they made it look" Zurine admitted after she eyed her unraveled rope with a bit of annoyance.
