Chloe was a little startled by that answer. She...had a difficult time believing he was at all ill. Besides, he'd been carrying around Vivian the day before, not to mention that he'd apparently carried Isamu. And he seemed to be able to touch Sani just fine as well. She wondered why he believed himself to be ill? She had a feeling asking directly wouldn't yield many answers. Though, perhaps she could ask Sani at some point to see if he knew--not that she knew what Sani was like at all. Yet.

She finished with her tea, the took his mug to him, and carried hers as well so she could sit nearby. "Actually, I'm a very good doctor. You know I might be able to find a cure for whatever sickness you have. Do you know what it's called?" She paused. "Well, also, you shouldn't worry about making me ill because since I have to treat sick people all the time, I have many different ways to prevent myself from also getting ill. I would have to, in order to be a good doctor right? Otherwise, I would get sick every time I treated someone."

"So please don't worry about things like drinking from my cups and all that. I'm not at all worried about getting sick from you. But I won't touch you again if it bothers you, alright?"

Gad took the mug carefully from her and looked at it, happy to see the steam and feel the heat through the mug. He took a small sip of it, frowning as it burned his tongue – still a little hot. He blew on it softly while he listened to the doctor speak, uncertain of how to take that. It made sense and he knew the doctor was very smart, but, he didn't know if she was smart enough to make that call. He had been told by a doctor too about his sickness and, though he would never say it aloud, he had been told before that women doctors weren't as smart as men doctors. That didn't make her stupid – oh, no, she was certainly no Gad – but, he didn't want her thinking that he thought any less of her for it.

No, but the doctor didn't either.” He said with an apologetic look – he hated not being able to answer a question, but, well.. this was Gad. He was used to this feeling by now. “But, their illness is different.” He added, but looked back to his mug afterward, “..I'm sorry, doctor, it's.. I-I don't know how to explain it.” If he was alive, he could, but.. He let out a soft sigh and took a drink of the water – it was still hot, but it didn't scorch his tongue anymore.

Chloe held her teacup in both hands as she listened to Gad. When he finished speaking, she closed her eyes and momentarily raised an eyebrow as if she was still listening to something interesting. After a few moments of this, Chloe opened her eyes again with that thoughtful expression still on her face.

"In that case, perhaps I'll be able to find out about it on my own," Choe said, smiling up at Gad. "Actually, I'm very, very good at finding out all kinds of things. Better than most people. Even male doctors." She sipped her tea, closing her eyes to inhale the fragrance. So relaxing. "In the meantime, you're still welcome in the infirmary anytime you wish so please don't be shy. Regardless of being sick or not sick, I still quite enjoy talking with you."

Gad would doubt that she could do it on her own, but he couldn't be certain on it, so he didn't comment beyond a curious look. A look that grew curiouser as she said that last bit – male doctors.. It wasn't that he actually considered she could read his thoughts or any silly thing like that – Gad had no real thoughts, just little 'things' that came into his mind that made no sense. Not the same as an actual thought, so someone wouldn't bother reading his thoughts even if they could – it wouldn't make sense. But, he did find it odd that she would think male doctors could find anything better than a female doctor. He didn't think that there was a difference in finding things, but maybe female doctors could find them better. Whatever 'them' was. Ahh, he needed to drink his water before it got cold.

He stopped his pondering and instead went to concentrating on drinking it, pausing only as she stopped talking, “I enjoy it too.” He said sincerely before going back to his drink – it was hard not to simply swallow it all at once, but he had to be polite and taking a series of rapid sips was far more polite than gulping! It took a bit longer to finish, but, eventually, he had an empty cup in hand. Good, now it wouldn't get cold! “Sorry.” He said quickly as he stood up, going to the sink so he could wash the mug as he had said he would. She hadn't really told him not to do it and he liked to clean up. Once he was done with that, he looked back to realize he hadn't finished with all of the boxes yet. Another mumbled apology and he went over to go finish that too while the doctor drank her tea. But, one or two boxes were done in under five minutes, as he had already decided on where everything would go. So, he simply went to cleaning – which meant using the sanitizer on the counters, his hands, the cabinet handles, his hands, the bed frames, his hands, and.. plenty of other things, as well as his hands.

"You needn't apologize," Chloe said. "You really have nothing to apologize for." She watched him as he cleaned the cup, then put away the things from the other boxes. He had a very methodical way of working--as if he'd done this sort of thing a thousand times. it was almost as if it was second nature--not something he had to think about. He finished putting the things away and immediately went to cleaning as well. With the sanitizer. Everywhere.

She was fortunate it had less odor than a normal sanitizer. He seemed to be compulsively putting it on his hands but Chloe was mostly struck by the way he worked. It was as if he worked in a place like this before--a doctor's office or hospital seemed really unlikely, though, given his personality quirks. It would have had to have been a smaller setting, like something private. Maybe a small laboratory of some kind.

It was a pity he wouldn't let her touch him. If she could touch his forehead and get some kind of vision about him, it might unlock some clues. But then, if he watched her in the throes of a vision, it would likely frighten him. Well, it didn't matter. There was time. And in the end, perhaps he couldn't be helped at all. But at least finding about who he was would help assuage her own curiosity. And there was always the chance that he could be helped, just a little.

Sorry.” Came the automatic response to that – was he not supposed to apologize to her? He didn't mean to do that! He made sure to be quiet as he went on in his work. Soon enough, Gad had finished cleaning up – or, rather, he had stopped just before reaching the floor, if only because he ran out of sanitizer. It was a wonder he even managed to get so much done with the amount he had on hand – he was much more used to a far greater quantity. He stood up, having gotten on his knees to start on the floor before even thinking of checking if he still had any. He looked to the doctor and glanced at her cup, though he wasn't going to encourage her to finish up.

Tea was something one should enjoy however they like! Especially for someone who was tired like the doctor was. Gad went back to his seat and sat down, frowning slightly at how incomplete everything was. But, there was little he could do without leaving back to his dorm and he didn't want to leave yet! The doctor had said she would help introduce him and.. even if she didn't want to anymore, he still would much rather sleep in the infirmary than go back. “Is it good?” He hesitantly asked with a motion to her cup.

"It is," Chloe said, taking another sip as she watched him return to his seat. "I could make you sometime, if you like." Taking a last swallow, she set her cup down, holding it in her lap. "I couldn't help but notice how good you are at this sort of thing--putting away all my supplies in such an orderly way, cleaning up the way you did. It looks like you have a lot of experience with it."

It wasn't really the most subtle fishing for information but it was better than directly asking. She was hoping he would elaborate. She couldn't really help but want to know more about him. In addition to the genuine desire to help him with his fears a little, if possible, she couldn't deny he was sort of unusual person. And she, on the other hand, was a naturally curious person. It probably wasn't the best combination--especially considering he wasn't the sort she could simply pester for information.

Well, that was alright. She didn't really mind putting some investigative skills to work. Besides, she hadn't been lying to him. She really did enjoy him being around. He was a very sweet man, for all his little quirks. She also wanted to get to know him for personal reasons. Even if she couldn't help him, she'd at least like to be his friend.

~Keina Alappassi~

The baby girl without a chance
A victim of the circumstance
The one who oughta give up
But she's just to hard headed

After looking around the resort for a bit Keina finally decided to head to work. She opened the infirmary door and stepped inside, gazing around. What an boring looking room. It certainly wasn't very comforting, that was for sure.

"Hello Chloe... looks like we have a small workspace..." she said as she wandered over to a window and peeked out through it from the side.

That's good.” Gad replied, pausing a moment to consider trying it some time in the future. But.. Tea? It was basically old, crushed leaves shoved into water and stewed! It was a cesspool of germs and bacteria – who knew what she could be ingesting right then? Besides, tea was far too strong for him – water was good. He shook his head, “No, you like the tea, you drink it.” He didn't want it wasted on him anyway, especially since she seemed to enjoy it so much.

Yes, Gad – uh, no, I am good at putting away things.” He was happy to hear that she agreed! Not to mention, it even sounded like she was praising him – but, he could be wrong. Somehow. It wasn't good to assume things of others, especially things like that. “I cleaned up a lot, it was Gad's – ah, mine – uh, my – ah – AH.” His stuttering came to a stop with a small scream that stopped before it even started as his eyes laid on the.. the creature that came in. It was large! Tall! A bird? Oh, GOD, it was a bird! It probably was going to peck out his eyes for his bread – but he didn't have any! He pressed himself up against the back of the bench in his surprise, not expecting at all such a.. such a thing to come into the room so suddenly! He couldn't fit under the bench, Gad knew, and he was too tall to hide atop anything, which left him with.. nowhere. He shook – that.. he didn't like this, not at all.

Chloe sighed. Keina walked in right as he was about to say something critical. And he'd stopped. Well, it wasn't her fault of course so Chloe could hardly be angry. She noticed instantly that Gad was terrified, and got up to intervene, quickly going to Keina's side to give her arm a light squeeze to reassure her. "Gad, this is actually my assistant, Keina. You didn't get to meet her before because she was resting. But she helps me when I need to treat someone who is injured or ill."

"She's a person just like you and I except she's from a race called Hawklings. They're really a lot like Humans, but they have these beautiful wings. Do you like them?"

"Keina, this is Gad. He's the groundskeeper at Rosentale. He's a lovely man, but he's a little shy."

Keina was a bit startled when Chloe touched her arm. She blinked and looked at her, then at Gad. "Hello Gad...." she gave him a small smile before looking at Chloe again, "Im sorry to cut this introduction short but..... I really need to step out for a few minutes..... im feeling kind of queazy..." she said, then turned and left.

Gad shook his head at the doctor as she went over to Keina, not wanting her to approach something as unusual and frightening as that. Even as she touched her and, in his mind, attempted to hold her back, he could hardly relax, already debating with himself on whether he should make a run for it or try to help the doctor before she became hurt – the former being far more appealing. But, before he could do either, she had begun to speak – the both of them. Confusion overcame the fear for a moment as he heard such an oddly.. human voice come from her – feminine and not a screech or a squawk or even a tweet, like some of the smaller ones would do. But, she had wings!

And.. oh. She was a nurse? He slowly climbed back down from the couch he had pulled his legs up on, still feeling nervous at the beast – ah, woman, but, if the doctor knew her, then.. “I – ” He had started to whisper, his hand to his chest to indicate himself, but, just like that, the bird-woman had left. Queasy. He looked at the doctor, “..What is 'queasy'?” It sounded familiar, but nothing he really knew by heart. Was it a bird thing?
