Sasha stumbled slightly when she next attacked, the faltering movement causing Nona's hooks to merely glance off of the poltergeist. Despite that, Nona's lilting song rang out clear and true, and Sasha took a moment to glance over her shoulder at Bix and Gale. HP: 24/40 Dmg: 3 Boss HP: 21 / 50 Charge: 2 / 3

"Be careful!" Bix called out to Sasha as she stumbled. His yell was enough to get the creatures attention and it flickered out of existence and when it appeared again it was right in his face. It 'force pushed' Bix away, the hunter skidding backwards and hitting a rusted railing.
Bix hissed, losing his breath for a moment but he spun quickly and lined up a shot. He aimed for the head.
His arrow loosed and nailed the monster right on target. He was quick about letting loose a few shots following. The poltergeist screeched as he turned it into a pincushion.

Sasha whiffed the poltergeist as it flew towards Bix, Nona's claws a keening cry as she gained her final charge. When the ghost continued past her Sasha ran after it, a look of utter determination plastered on her face. HP: 16/40 Dmg: 4 Boss HP: 6 / 50 Charge: 3 / 3 [[With a roll this time!]]

Something crashed into Gale's side, sending him staggering painfully sideways, the wind knocked out of him. He gasped for breath, pressing a hand against his ribs. Somewhere to his left he could see Sasha stumbling, and Gale got back to his feet, straightening with the rifle in his hands.
"Careful!" he shouted, but he was somewhat impressed by the expression on Sasha's face. She seemed completely focused, her eyes filled with a surprising fierceness, and she was running towards the creature without hesitation. For someone who was still relatively new to Deus Ex - it was rather interesting - and impressive.
Gale swung the rifle around. His eyes found the target through the telescopic lens, and with a quick, hard jerk of his finger on the trigger, fired.
There was a loud bang, followed by several more, in quick succession. And then -
Silence. Gale kept Jinhai summoned, but he lowered it just slightly, glancing around.
"Did we get it? Everyone okay?"

As the monster disappeared they all recieved a mental image of the kidnapped children. They were gone... GONE... It was like a voice on the wind and then soon it too was gone. "Easy peasy." Bix stood, still ready but only the wind now moved anything around them. He desummoned his bow and stretched a bit, approaching Sasha to give her a pat on the shoulder. "Nice job!" He scanned for clues but he felt the message from the ghost had been enough. "I think we know what happened to the children." Bix now only frowned. "So how do you feel about your first external mission? Got to kill something.. see the sights. Sorry that Gale is so boring." He teased but then burst out laughing.

"What... what does it mean, they're gone?" Sure, they'd been victorious, but at what cost? It saddened Sasha a bit. Children were the innocents of the world, weren't they? Desummoning Nona, Sasha rubbed the side of her nose and cleared her throat. A nervous habit, one of her most telling. "Sorry, I just.. it was fun. Thanks, Bix. And Gale." She offered a small smile. "Now what? Back to Deus?"

Gale gave Bix a very dry look indeed.
"I am not," he said. "boring. I'm just...quiet."
Though this was hardly true, since even Gale knew that there were times when he came off as too serious, but this was not one of those times and he was not about to let Bix get the last word in.
He looked over at Sasha, then flicked his gaze to Bix.
"That's up to him," said Gale, and frowned a little, scanning the area. "Is there any other information needed here, do you suppose?"
He had received the same image as the other - the children were gone, and there was nothing they could do about it. Gale pressed his lips together in a grim expression and exhaled slowly.
They'd been too late, after all.

"I know man." Bix just smirked and nudged Gale jokingly. The albino hunter seemed a bit deflated by the fact that they hadn't been able to save the children. He just let out a heavy sigh. "Gone means gone. We'll never find them now." He also wondered, sometimes, where they ended up. Did they just disappear off of this plane of existence? Did they feel it when they were taken? They had to be afraid, that's what FEAR was about... It was all too depressing to think about. "Let's just get some quick pictures of the area and we'll submit them with our report. I wouldn't want to go back empty handed."
