Log six "Ting ting tiiiinnng!"
"Riiing tiiing tinnng!"
"I'm coming, hold on!" Aureole shouted from the base of the tree. She gazed up towards the two dews, who were six feet above her head, and attempted to climb up to them. One try became two and two tries became three and soon, the poor child was tuckered out. Still, with a substantial amount of determination in her eyes, she began to flap her arms in a frustrated effort to fly.
She managed to reach a sturdy branch that was moderately out of her reach from the ground. While the branch was still four feet below her, the little bird continued forward. And within two minutes, she had reached the dews.
"Whew! Glad that's done..." She huffed, a pleased smile crossing her features as she studied the little droplets before her. "Wow! I looked like that?"
"Ting ting ting!" One dew agreed.
"Riiing ting!" Chimed the other.
Aureole giggled as she scooped the dews up. She couldn't recall being in her dew phase, but she found it very amusing to see what she must've been like. Without hesitation, Aureole jumped down from the tree and onto the ground, her eyes catching a sparkle as she landed. Curiously, she followed the gleam.
Underneath a rose bush were two essence vials, one blue and one gray-blue. Aureole grinned, knowing that these were meant for the two dews she had just found. Excitedly, she held the vials out to the dews with a smile.
"Okay!" She exclaimed, wiggling the blue vial. "Who wants to be Blue Wonder?"
"RIIING!" Chimed the dew to her right.
Aureole chuckled. "Well, okay then!" She said, emptying the contents of the vial upon the dew before turning towards the other dew. 'Now you're going to be Flutter! Okay?"
"Ring-A-Ting-Tiiiing!" Chimed the remaining dew.
After both dews had been given their essences, Aureole had to tackle another matter. "You guys need names..." She muttered, tapping her chin. "If either of you are boys, say RIIING!"
"RIIING!" One promptly chimed.
"RIIING!" Added the other.
"I thought so! You two are so looooud!" She replied, turning her face back to a thoughtful expression. Moments later, she pointed to the Wonder dew.
"Your name is Neil!" She announced. "Okay?"
"Ring-Ting-TIIING!" Neil replied.
Aureole then motioned to the Flutter dew with a smile. "Your name is Ryan!" She stated. "Okay?"
"Ting-A-Riiing!" Ryan replied.
"Alrightie then." Aureole sighed, laying down among the grasses, Neil and Ryan seated to her right side. "Let's take a rest here for now. Then we can go explore later, 'kay guys?"
"Ring Ting!" Neil chimed.
"Ring Ting!" Ryan chimed.
And just like that, a bond was made...

Log seven Dear journal,
Hi! It's Aureole again. I wanted to update you on how I was doing. It's been tough, but I think I'll be okay. The gardens are so peaceful...
Last time I wrote, I had just found the two dews that were calling out to me. Well, I climbed up that big 'ol tree and got them down! They're both boys and they're very chatty! I named them Ryan and Neil, because they can't go around without names 'ya know. They like each other a lot, too. I can't pick up one of them without both of them being upset about being apart. I think that's very funny!
Anyway, after I found them, all three of us decided to take a rest under the tree. I was very tired after all the running and flying I did, so I thought I deserved a good rest. Ryan and Neil didn't seem to mind not running around the gardens for a while either, they stayed right next to me and chimed back and forth to each other. They must've been talking to each other...
Then, once I was rested, we went exploring! I held Ryan and Neil in my hands as we smelled flowers, tried to name colors and twirled 'round for the rest of the day! They were chiming the whole time! I knew they were having as much as I was. But I knew that nighttime was coming soon. I needed to search for a place for us to sleep...
We didn't have to search too long, though. I made a little house out of wood, twigs and other big broken things I could find. It wasn't really that strong, but it worked for the night. Ryan, Neil and I slept pretty good, I guess...
I hope that someone will come get us soon. Maybe Shayden will come! ... But the whole city got destroyed... Maybe he got hurt too! ... I can't think of that anymore, no! They're okay. I know so. I KNOW SO. B-but still, maybe my old family can't help me anymore. They lost their home and other important stuff. That costs a lot of money to fix. They might not be able to keep me anymore. Oooh, I hope they're okay!
If I get a new guardian, that would be okay, I guess. They'd have to be nice and want to go to the beach and like to sing and dance. They'd also need to be okay with all THREE of us. Not just me. Ryan and Neil need a home too! No picking favorites. No way Jose! That would make me really sad...
Okay, I think that's all I've got to say for now. A new day is here, as my daddy said...
Love, always,
Aureole Willow

Log eight "Someone pleeeaaassseee come soooon! I don't know how to be an adult yet!"
"Hello?!" She shouted, purple eyes snapping open from their dozing position. Frantically her body jumped from her seat underneath a tree and began to run. She was frightened by the voice, but her reason for running wasn't about the voice itself. It was the fear of being found that propelled her feet forward...
She was seventeen and quite a beauty to behold. However, her beauty was only seen in the eyes of her friends and social groups, but to her mother, she was a bag of garbage from the city dump. From birth she was to be raised in a rigid surrounding, no curious questions, no acceptance and no anti-bias ideas were allowed inside of her home. But, even with this teaching, she "rebelled" and began to grow a taste for things her mother abhorred.
Now she was on her own, but by her own decision. She didn't want to be something she wasn't. She wanted to run free, with her own ideas as her wings and her own mind as her guide. She was doing fairly well, she had saved up enough money to buy plenty of train tickets and a few months worth of cheap fast food. But even with this confidence, she wasn't certain of her survival. She had no housing, no access to medication and never knew when she would stumble upon a restaurant that offered free glasses of water. It took a lot of pacing and strength to continue along the road she had chosen, and she wasn't about to throw away her hard earned freedom for any bargain or bribe.
Still, she had her fears. The thought of being dragged back home by someone who recognized her, or worse, by her own mother, was enough to make her bolt. She was determined to keep her freedom, to keep her new life, no matter how hard it was, and no one was going to stop her...
And so... She ran. And ran. And ran. And she didn't stop running until she felt it was safe to stand still. But this time, as she stopped to catch her breath, she felt as if she should listen to the wind. It whispered a simple command, to run in the forest hills until she found a garden. There, she would find the source of the voice she had heard, and become a treasured hero in the eyes of three young lives that currently hang in the ever changing balance of fate.
The request was received and quickly acted upon. Our runaway hero leaped over the bars that divided the road from the forest and took off into the darkness of the forest.
And she ran straight on to her chosen destiny.

Log 9 But well before our heroin could reach her destination, a strange event occurred!"Ryan? Neil?" Aureole called out from within her makeshift fort. "Where did you two go?" She crawled out from out of the building and looked from left to right, concern crossing her features. "NEIL?! RYAN?!" She hollered, fearing that she may be alone."WE'RE OVER HERE, MOM!" Came a shout from around a nearby tree."Mom?" Aureole muttered as she hustled around the corner. And as she turned the corner, she saw two boys, around the age of ten, sitting and chatting to each other. "Ryan? Neil?" Aureole stammered."YUP!" Neil exclaimed, his long wavy hair covering his cheery eyes. "We're just like YOU NOW! Right, Ryan?"Ryan nodded along silently, his dark thoughtful eyes obviously preoccupied. He gazed over to Aureole and smiled, clicking the pause button on his Mp3 player. "We're big enough to help you out now, mom." He said, brushing his bangs out of his eyes. "So, what do you want to do first now that we're bigger?""Whoa! WAIT A MINUTE!" Aureole exclaimed. "I'm the same age as YOU! I can't be your mom!"Neil pouted and furrowed his eyebrows. "But YOU SAVED US!" He retorted, folding his arms with a huff.Ryan sighed and patted Neil's shoulder, causing the boy to relax his arms with a sigh of his own. Then, Ryan looked back over to Aureole. "Well," He said, tapping a finger to his chin. "What can we call you?""You can call me Aureole." Aureole replied, visibly relieved. "Or you can call me Aure, 'Re or 'Ole. Just... Not mom. 'Kay?"Ryan nodded with a light smile. "Alright, Aure" He said, giving a decisive glance up to Neil who promptly cracked a grin and a thumbs up sign of approval. The forest was silent for a moment as the trio stood, soaking up the new surroundings. But soon, all three children turned their heads towards the direction to the right, eyes wide with fear."D-do you guys feel something?" Aureole asked."Y-yeah." Ryan replied. "It feels like the Earth's shaking!""AN EARTHQUAKE!" Neil shrieked. "QUICK! FIND SHELTER!"And so the trio rushed back into their makeshift shelter to wait out the "earthquake"----------------------------------
Meanwhile, our lovely heroin is running straight for them at a speed almost incalculable. "Don't worry!" She exclaimed. "Rachel's coming to help you! Just hold on!"((NEIL - HAIRSTYLE/CLOTHING REFS RYAN - HAIRSTYLE/CLOTHING REFS

Log 10 Dear journal,
Wow! So much has happened since I last wrote! I don't even know where to begin!
Ryan and Neil grew big, like me! Well, not as big as me, they are a little younger. But still, it was a big surprise! They didn't make a sound the whole night we stayed in our little shelter house and when I woke up, they weren't there! I thought that an animal might have got them, so I yelled for them. That's when Neil yelled for me...
Boy was I shocked to see them sitting together as humans! But I was even MORE shocked when they call me "mom." I was scared! I'm not old enough to be a mommy, I'm only ten years old! Being a mommy now would be really weird! So I told them that they had to call me something else, Neil didn't seem to like the idea but he and Ryan decided to call me Aureole, which was just fine with me. That's my name anyway!
Anyway, a little bit after that, the ground began to shake! Neil yelled that it was an Earth quake, so we ran back into our little house and hid until it stopped shaking. We were scared and I remember that Ryan and Neil were holding onto me tightly. They were so scared...
But then the shaking stopped and everything went back to normal. I was happy that they went back to smiling and laughing. Then, I heard the bell of another dew calling to me! Ryan and Neil heard it too and became excited, they said that they knew it was their missing best friend calling out to them, and they took off running towards the tree. Without another thought, I followed them.
I really hope this little dew is okay! That earth quake sure was scary! Please don't worry little guy! We're coming to get you!
Love, always,
Aureole Willow

Log 11 Aureole had been climbing for quite a while and was at least fifty feet off the ground. Although she was stable and knew where the dew was, she shook with fear as the voices of Ryan and Neil grew further and further away.
"I THINK HE'S TO YOUR LEFT, MOMMA 'OLE" Yelled Neil.
"NO, NO! HE'S ABOVE YOUR HEAD, MOM!" Barked Ryan.
The little bird girl bit her tongue to keep from reprimanding the boys for calling her mom again, for she knew if she looked back down to the ground below she would freeze in space out of fear of falling to her death. The sun was shining through the branches above her head, impairing her vision of the branches. After getting whacked by a few unseen twigs and leaves, she became fed up.
"I can't see him or hear him, guys!" She exclaimed, clinging to the tree for dear life. "Do you really think he's all the way up here?!"
"RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGG!"
Aureole froze. She knew that the sound had come from a dew a few feet to her right, but the ringing was that of a terrible panic. Her mother bird instincts kicked in and she clamored around the tree, her eyes darting to a dew that was slipping off it's leaf. As if she were a cat upon it's prey, she leaped from her spot on the tree and caught the dew just as it was to fall from the edge of it's leaf.
Then, she began to fall. Her arms were pinned to her chest, keeping the dew from falling out from her cupped hands. She knew she couldn't fly, she wasn't strong enough yet. Her body stiffened as heart raced and her eyes snapped tightly shut as she plummeted down the tree's side like boulder off a hillside.
"RIIIIIIIIING! RIIIIIIIIIING!" Rang the dew's bell. "RIIIIIIIIIIIIING!"
Neil and Ryan sprung into action. The positioned themselves underneath Aureole as she fell, the dew she had saved still ringing as if it were shouting directions to the two boys below. Aureole was ten feet above them when they leaped into the air and caught her in mid air.
They landed and gently placed Aureole onto the ground, Ryan promptly laying her up against a tree and retrieving the dew from her hands. He handed the dew to Neil who promptly smiled as it rang excitedly to him. Neil noticed something sparkling next to a bush a quickly retrieved it. He returned to find Ryan sitting next to Aureole with a very concerned face and soon he had echoed his friends face.
"Riiiing...Riiiing..." Rang the dew in a melancholic way. The sound of the dew caused Ryan and Neil to sigh and nod as if they agreed with what the dew had said about the situation. Then Neil held the object he had found out to Ryan, a small bottle containing a lavender liquid, and Ryan pointed back to the dew with a smiled.
"Come're Abel," Neil said smiling cheerily, scooping the little dew up into his hand. The dew rang a note or two at being scooped up but chimed loudly as the lavender liquid was poured upon it, turning it a lovely color. Ryan and Neil laughed as the dew continued to ring in protest to the liquid. Then the trio hugged each other, the dew ringing along happily as the two older boys laughed.
"We missed you, Abel!" They said in unison. It was a wonderful moment for them, their expressions matching the chiming of Abel, the dew held between them. After a few minutes of hugging, laughing and chiming, they turned their attention to Aureole. Cheery faces replaced with that of distress and fear, Ryan and Neil slowly crept up to the one they called "mother" and lay beside her. They knew she was simply asleep, the ordeal having been quite a startling one, but fear still lay upon their features as they closed their eyes to rest along side her.
The sun shone through the trees, shedding light upon the sleeping children. A tender moment shared, a tender moment earned.

Log 12 Aureole was alone and the world was white. Completely white, an empty white. The white of nothingness, the white of oblivion. The silence was numbing, oh how the silence was numbing, and she shook with fear. Where was she and why was she alone? Was she dead or was she asleep?
The little bird dared not think any further. So she sat. She sat and hugged her knees to her chest, tears streaming down her face. This wasn't right. Her world had color, her world had life. This couldn't be the world she knew. The pain, the nothingness, all of this was surely a lie. But was it? Was it really all a lie?
There was no feeling, no warmth and no wind. Silence was the only thing that was around her and it was a terrifyingly lonely sound. She never knew that silence could ever be so bitter, so scary. It was though she was being teared apart, bit by bit, by the emotionless, emptiness of this blank, colorless space. Her colors being drained little by little and minute by minute...
Where had the colors gone? Where had the life gone? This world was so foreboding. But was it reality? Was this real? If it was real, then was this world for her? Was this a punishment for a wrong doing? Then, if so, what had she done to deserve such a punishment? She felt she had done no wrong...
Then, there was a door. It was round and barely visible. It was white, just like the rest of the world around her, but it was there. She stood, stepping clumsily at first, and hurried to the door. The door spoke freedom, the door spoke life. But was this door an illusion or was this door speaking the truth?
To find all the answers, she opened the door...

Log 13 The door had opened and it had lead her away. The world had stars and lemongrass and a waterside view. Fragrances of salt water and citrus filled her nose, a fresh, yet familiar mixture. Aureole was quiet, lulled by the scene, until she saw a harrowing sight.
There was a city, a city on fire, and buildings had been destroyed. Chaos reigned supreme within the fire and smoke and it reflected in her eyes. Her heart twisted and turned inside of her chest as feelings of terror mixed with feelings of anger and sorrow. Her mind could only think of questions beginning in whys and hows, and she turned away, her eyes wanting to reach for the sea. But as blue orbs turned, she was confronted with tears of unmanageable pain.
He lay among the reeds, rubble covering his barely recognizable body. She knew it was the truth, that he was dead and that her prayers didn't make a difference. She sobbed and knelt next to him, her hands furiously digging at the stones upon his body. He needed to be seen, he needed to have light upon his soul, the beautiful soul that she loved and was now begging to hold again. The rubble was cleared and she had her chance. The chance to reunited, if only for a short moment.
She clung to his motionless body, crying as though she would never cry again. She begged for him to move. She pleaded with him to speak. Then she asked him to open his eyes. And he did. He opened the eyes that were once blind and he blinked. Slowly, he rose with pure white wings upon his back, and he smiled at her with tears in his eyes.
They walked the beach together, discussing what this meant. He explained that he was free, free as a bird in the sky. And he pointed to a flock of birds flying the morning sunrise. He made a point to say that he was there, as well as the rest of the ones she loved. They were all there flying for her. Flying for her so she could live on and know that they would be okay. He assured her that her prayers had been answered and that this was his reality. His safety was guaranteed and she need not worry herself to sickness.
Aureole grinned, crying tears of joy as they waved goodbye. She wasn't a failure and it wasn't her fault after all. She turned to the city once more and saw that it was on its way to being rebuilt. Her confidence shot up and her spirit resolved. But, questions still revolved around her.
So, to find further answers, she opened another door...

Log 14 The second door led Aureole to the gardens, but an unfamiliar part of it. At first, she thought she was home and searched for Ryan, Neil and Abel, but soon she saw a young woman resting up against a tree with a sling wrapped around her arm.
She had rainbow hair and purple eyes, which Aureole thought was very funny. However, Aureole saw that the woman was writing in a diary of sorts, and she was surprised as to what the woman was writing. She was writing about coming to help someone who had called out to her, a little girl to be exact.
Aureole knew that this little girl must've been her and that this young woman was going to be her new guardian. She smiled and studied the woman a little more, just to make sure she was right, and began to wander away.
Her questions had been answered and her qualms put to rest. She was finally content with her life and what was clearly to come. Life would be alright and she would be just fine, there was nothing more to fear.
And with a new lease on life and cheer popped back in her step, Aureole woke up into her beautiful reality...

Log 15 Light blue eyes opened into the evening sunlight of the gardens. Aureole slowly rose from her place against the tree and stretched, blinking in shock as she discovered that Ryan, Abel and Neil were nestled up against her. She blushed but decided not to wake them as she stood and moved towards their campsite again.
Quickly she began to gather fallen sticks, leaves and branches to make a fire. Then, she set out to look for nuts, fruits and vegetables to make a salad for dinner. She climbed trees, crawled under shrubs and had to run away from a swarm a bees while getting honey to make a glaze, but she returned with a bounty of vegetation with a triumphant grin and dirty clothing.
She had just begun to make the salad when she saw that Ryan, Neil and Abel were running back towards the campsite. She grinned and waved to them, only to be barreled over with a tackle-hug, the coconut shells she used for salad bowls scattering around the campsite.
"MOM! YOU'RE OKAY!" Neil cried out.
"We thought you got really hurt, right Abel?" Ryan added.
"RIIIIING! RIIING RIIIIIIING!" Abel agreed.
Aureole could only laugh and shake her head. "I'm fiiiine! No need to worry!" She replied. "I just got a little spooked and needed a rest, that's all." She paused, looking at the mess of leaves and fruit all over the floor around her. "Who's going to help me gather more stuff for salads?"
"WE WILL, MOM!" Ryan and Neil exclaimed, Abel ringing loudly after them. And in a flash they took off running to find fruits and vegetables.
"WAIT FOR ME, GUYS!" Aureole cried out, darting after them with a lighthearted giggle. "Hmmm." She thought while she ran. "Maybe being "mom" wouldn't be so bad..."

Log 16 Dear journal,
WOW! Things around here sure do keep me busy! I'm not sure if I'll be able to get to sleep tonight, the boys are playing tag in the dark. I've got to watch for injuires... Well, I've got the time at the place to write, so that's what I'm going to do. But where to start, where oh where to start?
Let's start with what happened when we found Abel. That was really scary. I had never climbed up that high before and I thought for sure I'd regret it. It took a long while to find Abel up there, but he was slipping off his leaf as soon as I reached him! I caught him, but I couldn't fly! So I fell. I must've fallen asleep while fell because I didn't wake up until dinner time.
But, during that time, I dreamed of weird places. At first there wasn't anything and I felt lonely and I wished I knew why. Then, a little door appeared for me. That door lead me back to the beach and back to the ruins of what Domino Town used to be. I was happy to see the beach and wanted to stay there, but I looked at the buildings that were on fire and turned away. That's when... Daddy showed up.
He was just laying there! No sound or no moving or anything! I knew he had died and I felt really bad. I felt like it was my fault that he was gone, even if I really didn't know why it would be my fault. I guess I needed something to blame. But, what happened next was exciting. I asked him to open his eyes and he did. He woke up, and he could see me! He had wings, too. BUT HE COULD SEE ME. My blind daddy could SEE ME. It made me so happy.
We walked on the beach for a while and he told me about what had happened to him. He said that he wasn't in pain and that I shouldn't worry anymore. I didn't really understand when he talked about where he was. He said he was in a bright, happy place where everyone could be free to be who they were and love who they wanted to. But he also said that he was watching me, he even mentioned Ryan, Neil and Abel as we walked, telling me to never give up on them or be mean to them. Towards the end of our walk he pointed to some birds flying around in the sunset and told me that he was always going to be one of those birds. This comforted me and we said goodbye.
Then another door appeared and I was back in the gardens, or so I thought. I saw a pretty lady with a broken arm writing in a diary. Her hair was rainbow, which I thought was funny, but she was so calm and serene to watch. I read a little bit of what she was writing and saw that she was trying to find a little girl that had called to her from the gardens. Somehow, I knew that she was writing about me! I was very happy to know that she was coming. I still am. I won't be so alone anymore...
After that, I woke up. Ryan and Neil were asleep so I started to make dinner, only to find that they were right behind me. They were very happy to see I was okay, Abel, too.
Speaking of Abel, he grew an hour ago! He's got very long, curly hair and he's very cheerful. So far, he seems to be the most excitable of the three boys, Neil being second and Ryan being third. I like that they're all so happy to be near each other, I must admit that I find it very cute...
One last thing before I sign off. I feel like I'm growing up, too. I've grown a few inches in a lot of places and my feathers are getting larger and thicker. Maybe I'm the next one to grow up? Who knows! It would be really cool though...
Love, always,
Aureole Willow

Log 17 Dear journal,
Something weird is happening to my hair. It's starting to change color...
It started out with just a little change on the tips and ends, but now my hair is streaked black and light blue! I don't know what to think of this. I mean, it doesn't look bad. It's just, very strange.
Still, I kind of like it. The color matches my eyes! I've tied it up in a nice big ponytail with my newly colored bangs slightly above my eyes. I think I look pretty! The boys think so too, hee hee!
Along with that change, I've got freckles on my nose and cheeks from the sunlight! They make me look cute, too! But, I'm going to need some new clothes soon. Maybe I can make some out of old fabric? I don't know. But it has to be light blue though, to match my eyes and hair of course! Maybe a flowy dress would be nice...
I'll write more later! Bye for now!
Love, always,
Aureole Willow

Log 18 It was a cool misty morning in the gardens and the boys were just rising from their peaceful slumber. Ryan yawned, Neil stretched and Abel rubbed his eye. Slowly, they adjusted to the sunlight and took a synchronized breath in, grinning at each other as they exhaled. Then, they seemed to lunge for the opening that lead out of their makeshift home, clamoring and giggling as they fought to squeeze out together."Me first!" Neil exclaimed, attempting to squeeze past Ryan. "I was born first!""Was not!" Ryan whined, giving Neil a playful shove. "We were BOTH born first!""BUT I SPOKE FIRST!" Neil shouted, poking Ryan's nose."Yeah, so what?" Ryan retorted, arching an eyebrow. "You want a medal?""GIRLS! GIRLS!" Abel exclaimed, grinning devilishly. "You're both very pretty and I'm assured you've both accomplished many wonderful things. But we're not trying to debate who spoke first or whatever, we're trying to get outside so we can enjoy the day. Can you two ladies handle that?"Neil stared at Abel for a few seconds and frowned. "WE'RE NOT GIRLS!" Neil exclaimed, growling. "WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU?!"Abel smirked, obviously pleased he attained some form of reaction. He stared eye to eye with Neil and stuck his tongue out, letting out a small raspberry. "Nothings wrong with me, Neil." He stated, chuckling. "What's wrong with you?"Neil was about to scream back at Abel when he realized that Ryan was no longer beside him. He turned his head and poked it out the opening, immediately spotting Ryan seated next to a sleeping Aureole. Silently he grabbed Abel's wrist and pulled him out the opening, causing the other boy to squeak in surprise. Then, they joined Ryan by Aureole's side."So, she's still sleeping?" Abel inquired, rubbing his wrist once freed from Neil's tight grip."Yeah..." Ryan replied, looking slightly distant. "But...""But what, Ryan?" Neil said, blue eyes wide with concern. "Is she sick?""I don't think so..." Ryan replied. "But, she looks... Different...""Different...?" Abel asked, leaning over to look at Aureole, his own eyes widening. "Oooh! I see what you mean! She does look different!""What, where? I don't see a change!" Neil replied, leaning over as Abel had done, only to echo the same gaze as his friend. "Ooooh. You mean she GREW, Ryan."Ryan nodded, nudging Aureole lightly with his foot. Then he floated off the ground and motioned his friends to follow him. "We should let her wake up on her own," He explained. "She'll get up when she's ready to. Meanwhile, let's go get something to eat."Then the trio hustled out into the forest, leaving a newly grown Aureole to continue her sleep. Log 19 It seemed like Aureole had been sleeping for months. Her body was stiff, her hair was a mess, and her body... Well... Had certainly changed. The not-so-little bird stood, stretched and assessed her new body, spending a good amount of time examining the "growths" upon her chest. She poked them and found herself giggling, they were jiggly!
Sunset was just about falling upon the gardens, something that made her sigh. Well, she was well rested enough for the next year or so, she wouldn't be sleeping for a while... She leaned back and stared up towards the sky, a mild groan escaping her mouth. At least she'll have extra energy to chase after the boys with...
Then her eyes snapped open and her body lurched forward. WHERE WERE HER BOYS?! She leaped to her feet and scurried about, her mothering instincts at full flurry.
"RYAN?! ABEL?! NEIL?!" She screamed, tossing shrubs, logs and dirt aside as she ran. They were gone! Simply gone!
How long had she been asleep?! What the hell was wrong with her?! HER BABIES WERE GONE! ... Her... Babies were... Gone... She sat on the ground and stared blankly at her feet. They were her boys, even if she didn't think she was old enough, and she loved them with all her heart... How could she have been so careless?!
It was an hour or so later that she discovered her first clue to where they had gone. A trail of blue and orange feathers, belonging to two of her boys, had laid out a clear path towards the city. The city, yes, they had gone there for help! Good boys, good! They knew what to do when there was danger! ... But how was she going to get them back? What if some other guardian adopted them...? Would she be able to take them home...?
Still, through her anxiety, she packed and moved to follow the path. As she finished fixing her clothes and tying her satchel to her side, a familiar ringing caught her attention from up in the trees.
"Riiing... Riiiiing... Ting, tiiing..."
Blue eyes snapped to the feather trail, then up into the trees, a new dew needed her attention. It sounded so sad and lonely, it wanted someone's attention... She dropped her satchel, sighed, and began to climb the tree. Her lost boys would have to wait just a bit longer, a new baby needed her tender love and care.

Log 20 Aureole ascended the tree with ease, unlike the other two times before. Her wings were stronger and capable of hovering now, making gliding upwards both fun and easy to accomplish. She parted the leaves at the very top of the tree and hopped around, her heart sinking. The dew wasn't there? Had she missed it? Was it even there to begin with? She sat upon a branch and stared down to the ground, she could still hear it calling to her...
"Where are you, little one...?" She muttered, blue eyes carefully scanning the area for any sign of the dew. As they moved across the grass, they caught sight of a glint among the leaves and narrowed. Without another moment to waste, she hovered back onto the ground and scurried to retrieve the object. Nestled between rain laden leaves and mossy rocks was a bottle much like the ones she had used on Ryan, Neil, and Abel not too long ago. The liquid was a lovely dark blue that made her think of the ocean she lived by when she lived with Ferngully and his family. A tear came to her eye as she revisited her past and she clutched the bottle to her chest, her emotions welling up inside of her. She could feel her father's breath, his hands, the smell of his shirt... All of it was coming back to her. How much she missed him, how much she wished he had survived, how much she longed for him to come home... So raw, so bitter, so strong... Her lip trembled and her eyes closed.
"Riiiiiiing... RIIING?...Tiiii..."
The dew, it was calling to her again! This time, it sounded like it was asking her where she was... The poor dear... She whirled around and set to looking for it again. Each tree she ascended and searched held no dew, none that had called for her at least. Her heart sank, her eyes teared, had she failed this little dew?
Then, she neared a small stream running through the forest, and knelt down to take a drink. What she saw as she bent to the ground frightened her, and caused her to lunge forward in order to catch something small in her grasp. She scrambled back onto the shore and held her hand to her chest, tears streaming down her face.
"I found you... I finally found you..." She mumbled, peeking at the shaken dew in her hand. "You're safe now... No need to worry..."
"...Tiii... Tiiiiiiiii?" The dew rang, motioning a bell to the bottle that Aureole had found. "Tiii, tiiiiiiiiing...."
Aureole smiled and nodded. The dew wanted to be assigned it's essence, it knew what it was supposed to be. She cracked the bottle open and poured the liquid upon her new charge, before holding the dew close to her again.
"You took quite a fall there..." She said, stroking one of the bells tied upon the dew. "I was beginning to lose hope that I'd find you, I hope you'll forgive me for taking so long..."
The dew remained silent as she stroked it and slid closer to her chest, seemingly snuggling into her shirt. It had been very lonely up there in the tree tops and wanted to feel close to it's new guardian. It had seen the boys leave, their food had run out, and it worried that they would not return to their beloved mother. Aureole didn't know it now, but this dew had quite a lot of feelings, all of which were sorrowful, and thoroughly deep in nature.
