“…Yeah, you are,” Remarque finally admitted, one brow raised. When it came to giving girls the lay-down, there were two perks: one, they were absolutely hysterical when they had no idea what they were doing and two, they were always showing off plenty of skin, whether they meant to or not. When dealing with guys? Eh, not so much fun.
It didn’t help that he kind of pictured Virtus more suited to baking cookies in the kitchen and handing them out to homeless people when he was supposed to be out gathering energy, but still. Everyone had to start somewhere, and at least Virtus understood that he needed help.
…A lot of it.
“Anyway, you think you can manage now? I don’t want to overload you with information, and it’s not like you can learn everything overnight. We can meet up again some other time, just keep practicing and…I don’t know, go get some weights, practice building up some muscles. That always helps. Just—”
His mouth hung open like he wanted to say something, and then he just let out a little whistle, “Just don’t hurt yourself, I don’t want to deal with your girlfriend coming after me.”

Virtus would love to bake cookies and hand them out to homeless people. It was probably a good thing that had remained a thought and not something Virtus would pick up on as an actual suggestion, or Remarque would be hard pressed to continue their training.
Even harder pressed, anyway.
Still, Virtus was sure he'd get everything. He'd be a good fighter, a good warrior and a good friend. A teammate they could count on, to help in a battle and to heal in the aftermath.
That was, after all, his power. And he'd only ever used it once.
"I'll practice every night, I promise! I'll do whatever I have to. I could buy weights!" Of course, Virtus' idea of weights were jogging size, and likely unhelpful for what he wanted to do. But it was still more than he was doing now, and at least he was always good on his word. Build muscles was his new goal.
He'd keep to it until he saw results. No matter how long that might take.
"I won't hurt myself! Thank you for your help!" Virtus bounced to him and hugged him quickly. It wasn't a manly hug, but it wasn't particularly girly, either. He was a hug instead of a handshake kind of guy. Especially with people he considered friends.
Remarque was destined for many hugs.

Remarque should have been expecting the unexpected with Virtus; even when he thought he’d had the male mostly figured out, here he was. Hugging him. His lip curled just slightly and he stiffened with the hug.
Remarque was a handshake guy. Hugs were just awkward. Sometimes he didn’t even like to hug his girlfriend.
His response was a delayed, awkward pat on the back. “Yeah…no problem,” he concluded, trying to discretely pry himself away from the male. “Yeah…maybe not every night, you’ll wear out your muscles and they’ll never bulk up, so…maybe ever other night should be fine and. We’ll catch up again one of these days, show me how you’re doing. So, ah. Yeah, good talk. You’ll do fine,” he insisted with a slightly awkward clap to the shoulder.

"Okay!" he was not deterred by the awkward hug: if that was the best hug Remarque could give then it was more than good enough for Virtus! Anyway, hugs were more for the receiver than the giver. Virtus was expressing his gratitude.
No harm there!
"Every other day then! I will show you when I've got something to show!"
He waved and hopped off. So excited he was almost skipping. And almost was a generously conservative term. He hummed brightly, his mind set. He would go and buy the weights he wanted and get some clothes to exercise in and make everything perfect.
He was going to put his all into it.

For a long moment, Remarque simply stared after Virtus. He wasn’t entirely sure what to make of the male—again—though this time, something was slightly different. He wasn’t simply exasperated with the Senshi of kindness as he might have claimed to be. He wasn’t necessarily thrilled with this newfound desire to maybe actually keep an eye on Virtus and keep him out of whatever trouble he could, but he certainly wasn’t resenting the idea.
There were a lot of things in the world that Remarque hated. There was a lot in Virtus he should have hated—the males’ exceptionally odd cheerfulness, his affinity for hugs, his inability to defend himself.
And yet, for the life of him, he couldn’t hate Virtus.
He shook his head, even going so far as to crack an amused smile as Virtus disappeared from his sight. He turned away, intent to make his evening a little more productive by gathering some energy, hoping that tonight really would help the newer Senshi.
He liked the guy, but, Oh God, he was the nicest kind of trouble Remarque had ever met.
