Dillon stared at the sandwich that lay on the ground. He hadn't forgotten he was still in a fight just yet. He just needed .... some time .... too look at her it ....
With his motivation renewed, the trainee spun around and lashed the whip at her again. The damage sustained was taking a toll on him, and it was evident as his attacks were getting weaker and weaker. From the looks of it, he probably wouldn't be walking out of this fight a victor.
But at least he would go down trying.
Meanwhile, Inez was facepalming.

Dillon was blowing her off for a sandwich, and Reine was getting seriously annoyed. Which was why, even though she'd tried to hold it in, because she was tired of having to send people to the infirmary, eventually she couldn't resist it anymore. This time, as she brought the swordbreaker down, ice-crystals clustered around Dillon's arm for a moment before shattering into small shards and scattering.

That last attack had brought him down onto his knees, clutching his arm in pain. The wounds on his side were now bleeding profusely and his ankle starting to properly hurt. Was this the end? Up till now he had yet to notice what he was sustaining were some real injuries and that he could very well be dying over a sandwich.
But did he regret it? Dillon gave the beautiful confection a fleeting glance.
No. No he didn't. You could see it in his eyes.
More beautiful music was being played in the background.
Kiss today goodbye, The sweetness and the sorrow. Wish me luck, the same to you. But I can't regret What I did for love, what I did for love. Look my eyes are dry. The gift was ours to borrow. It's as if we always knew, And I won't forget what I did for love, What I did for love

"Alright," Reine shrugged, desummoning the weapon. "That's enough." True to her resolution to, well, not beat anyone up to the point of losing consciousness, the life trainee stopped the fight. Just that had taken quite a lot of self-control. Leaning over, she pulled Dillon back onto his feet- he was bleeding and altogether pretty beaten up, and he'd been lying on the ground just staring, which didn't seem like a very good sign.
He was close to the sandwich, so close he could literally move a few inches, open his mouth, and take a well-deserved bite. Or at least, he was that close until Reine dragged him to the infirmary, intent on making sure he got checked out and all his wounds dressed and everything.
See? She could do the responsibility thing.

He had been so close.
SO CLOSE.
The mist trainee was still looking back at the sandwich with arm outstretched as he was dragged off to the infirmary, his facial expression contorted into what made him look like he was QQing. Which he was. In his heart.
This may or may not have ended with a very tragic VADERNOOOOOOOO that echoed through the entire compound, the island, and far far beyond.
