Ice Road Runner
Moving carefully, Malodore got back on its hooves and inched into the cave, this time sticking close to the wall in hopes that it could steady itself in case of more strong gusts. That cautious movement seemed to work, and it gradually made its way up to an icy stalagmite with a flag tied to it! Hooray.
"Did you know... that stalagmites are on the ground, while stalactites are on the ceiling?"
"Duly noted."
((4 - 1 flag obtained))

Ice Road Runner
With a clatter of hooves, Malodore managed to plaster itself against a smooth wall of ice. Though the wind pushed at it, it was simplicity itself to brace against the wall and remain firm, the flag fluttering proudly from its belt. And it seemed the Lepus Guide was either impressed enough or crushed against the wall hard enough to not make comments.
Most excellent.
((7 - no effect))

Emboldened by its success, Malodore moved forward. It could see another flag in the distance, so it pushed off the safety of the wall and headed forward -
WOOSH!
It stood firm for a moment, then yelped in a most undignified fashion as the wind blasted it right off its hooves once again. It grabbed for the safety of the wall and missed, tumbling all the way back to the cavern entrance. At some point, the flag fell off and was tossed right out the cave mouth.
"Did you know... that you lost a flag?"
"Silencio."

The wind was so relentless that even when Malodore climbed to its feet, the gusts just knocked it right back over. Ouch.
For once, the Lepus Guide kept quiet.

This was not going well. The plague doctor sidled forward again, only to lose purchase on the ice and tumble. Fortunately the wind didn't catch at it and slide it right out the cave entrance again, but the overall effect on its ribcage was much the same.
"Did you kn-" the Lepus Guide began, but shut up as soon as Malodore's wings flexed warningly around it.

Ice Road Runner
Malodore was getting smart about this, or so it hoped. It wasn't going to bother getting to its feet this time - instead, it started crawling forward on its hands and knees, claws biting slightly into the ice for purchase. It all went very well until a gust of wind smashed into it like a hammer, shoving it to the side. Pain blossomed, and it realized that it had been knocked right into a sharp spike of ice that cut as surely as a blade.
Ow.
Wincing, it dislodged itself from the ice formation, then pressed a wad of its own bandages up against the wound before inching onwards.

Weakened, there was no way the plague doctor could stand up to the next gust - it braced itself as it slid, knowing what was to come. It was inevitable. The pain was sharp and bracing, colder than anything - and then the plague doctor burst into motes of FEAR and dissipated, leaving only a thin coating of strangely dark blood behind on the icicle that had impaled it so neatly.
"Did you know... that you lost?" the Lepus Guide said, sadly, and hopped out the entrance towards the infirmary tent.

Despite popular belief, or unpopular or really, nonexistant beliefs, Nergals were not actually that fond of water. Okay, well perhaps, there was an even quarter of the population that was fond of water, and an even quarter of the population that wasn't fond of the water, and then just half the population that really didn't care either or.
Spectrae was actually of the half of the population making the entire above statement extremely lackluster in its meaning.
Thankfully, she wasn't really thinking such deep and intense thoughts at the moment, and was instead determined to really impress her new purple friends today. They were actually more of a sloppy grey because of the weather, but they were purple in heart. With that, she waited, and waited, and waited-
- The signal never came for the to actually leave the spot, but when she noticed that pretty much every other participant was gone except for herself, she also realized that oh, she should probably go and find her friends. They were probably hiding somewhere! Like in that fire cave!

The Cave of FIAH
She skipped along a long stretch of road, covered in red hot coals that look like they had been heated up with something hotter than ordinary fire. It was actually kind of hard to tell that they were heated up because it was pouring so hard. The lepus guide in her backpack suggested that "Did she know, she could skip forward?"
The Nergal did exactly so.

It was then that the very helpful lepus suggested that "Did she knew she could also climb over the geyser?"
It wasn't as if Spectrae knew what a geyser was, but the shooting spouts of water seemed rather fun, actually.
She actually wasn't too sure how she ended up in the infirmary, but in her heart of hearts, that was where all the good stuff was anyway. She had clearly won the game.

Despite their failure in the Trial of Famine, Junko was feeling confident. She was feeling good about today. You had to or you really would fail. They could do this. They could pass. They could...get...soaking wet in the rain and wind. She gasped, her arms flying to her head to cover as much of her hair as she could which really wasn't much. Nooooo! Her hair wasn't generally heavy but when it was wet it was like dragging around a heavy curtain you couldn't drop! And the added wind just made it so much worse. This was going to suck they were going to fail they were going to-- "Junko. You idiot, stop that. Jackdamn it's so annoying when you get like this it's just a little rain you'll be fine." The Mistress groaned. Junko pouted and just stared out at the courses ahead of them, accepting a backpack that was being shoved at her.
A little green head popped out, startling her. "Did you know I can be used as a flotation device in case of emergency?" It said cheerfully, red eyes wide and its mouth set in a huge grin. Junko blinked. The hell..?
"Um...did someone's minipet get in here by mista--"
"Did you know rain is made from the tears of fallen trees?" Junko looked down to just stare at the lepus. It was still grinning. Someone was listening to it! "Did you know wind is a natural phenomenon caused by a Vaisel kitten wagging its tail?" Junko frowned now, strongly debating whether to put the bag down or not.
...Yes, that seemed ideal. She slowly set it down on the ground and walked away without giving the bag or the strange lepus another look. There was a strange giggle before the backpack suddenly reappeared..on her back. Junko squeaked, flailing to get the damn thing off. "Did you know you're stuck with me...forever?"
OuO
Oh great. Junko was beginning to realize the lepus was not actually a mistake, it was intentional. Fantastic. Sighing, she bid the rest of her teammates good luck as she trudged to just..any course. Any course would do.

THE WATER LAKE
Junko really wasn't aware of where she was going until that first sticky, squelching step in the mud. She nearly fell over, stumbling but managing to catch her balance without falling face first in the mud. Huh? Where was she? Oh Jack! The water course?! Noooooo! She wasn't a strong swimmer this was going to end so terribly! Noooo!
The gnome was not having any of that. It cleared its throat and glared at the ghoul. It knew this ghoul. She was part of the Student Council, she had helped dress him like a jackdamn cupid. His narrowed gaze suggested one that would not take any of her whiny s**t, and would not let her leave.
Ever.
It directed her toward the pier, silencing any protest from the ghoul and damn near forcing her onto the dock. She sighed, beginning her trek into dangerous territory. She swallowed hard and took a deep breath before taking that first step. A vine hissed and moved away from her to position itself like a snake ready to strike, to which Junko squeaked and ran. She nearly forgot to grab her materials before straight up falling off the dock and into the water with a cry of surprise.
Oh hey! A flag!

THE WATER LAKE
Junko almost sank like a rock, coming up for air and flailing a little. The lepus was still grinning. "Did you know the sky is actually beneath you there are just mirrors above you that reflect the illusion?" It peered over Junko's shoulder and watched as the ghoul took a deep breath and then sank into the water again, a look of determination on her face as she began weaving. Weaving came easy to her, it was like sewing without a needle! She was a seamstress, damnit! A damn good arts and crafts ghoul who made most of her own accessories and gifts and various other trinkets! Perhaps this really was the best choice for her!
The aquatic minipets seemed to agree, watching in amazement as she decorated the basket. She made the best basket ever.

THE WATER LAKE
Junko looked around and realized she was being watched, her cheeks flushing as she presented the doomfish with her basket. See? See? Isn't it pretty?
Apparently doomfish don't like their presence being acknowledged.
They suddenly swam at her, slamming against the ghoul and slapping her with their tails and fins. That's right, Junko. You just got bitchslapped by a fish. "Did you know the horseman of War loves baskets?" The lepus guide cheerfully told Junko. Oh hey! The basket! She smacked the doomfish away, putting use to every swimming move she could think of to get away from the angry fish.

THE WATER LAKE
By some miracle Junko managed to get across to the cove, about to pull herself out until she saw the boxes. Oh..oh hey! This...okay! This made sense, yeah. She could carry these in her basket! And so she did just that, putting the boxes in her basket and lugging them through the water. It was slow going, slower than when she didn't have the heavy burden of the boxes.
Everything went to s**t when the doomfish spotted her again, this time jumping out of the jackdamn water and throwing themselves onto the ghoul with a vengeance. She swore one of them had a look in its eyes that wanted to kill her.
That doomfish had seen some s**t.
Her beautiful basket fell from her hands along with all of the boxes inside it. Junko had failed. In her shame she swam to the other side as quickly as she could, dragging herself out of her water. She was wobbly on her feet, her hair heavy and dragging behind her on the ground like an anchor, but she managed to make it away from the lake before being ushered to the infirmary to be checked up on.
