On an off day a person felt bad. On a shitty day, a person felt like s**t. On this day? Gale was gone past those markers. Marcus was just sort of stuck. Gale needed him and Marcus wasn't sure if he was even helping. Maybe? Sorta? This didn't make him think less of the death trainee really so much as it just made Marcus question his ability to help.
"Hey it's... It's okay Gale. And dude I'm serious so don't worry so much about it." Gale seemed better now and he wasn't flipping the ******** out anymore. Maybe he had helped? "It may seem weird but if you want to talk or anything you know I'm willing to listen right? You're my friend and for ******** sake I want to help if I can." A smile. "You good now though? No more smashing s**t?"

Despite everything, there was one thing Gale was very grateful for - that Marcus was his friend. He knew that, regardless of anything that was said or done, Marcus was honestly trying - and he was treating him like an equal. Not as a kid, not as someone who didn't know what he was doing, but as an equal.
And it was just what Gale had needed.
"I always worry," he muttered, a bit wryly, casting a glance up at the older hunter. "Part of my delightful charm."
This was said with a great deal of sarcasm. Gale sighed a little, and rubbed his face tiredly.
"No more smashing things. I promise. And...Marcus?"
There was a pause, as Gale struggled inwardly. He turned his face away, his cheeks feeling hot.
"...I'm glad we're friends."

A laugh bubbled up and Marcus couldn't suppress it. "Hey, that charm come in handy some day, you know. I don't know how, but it might. Anyway, now that you're not the hulk, I'm gonna head back to my room." Standing he brushed himself off. "You stay sane alright, death division already has enough crazy."

He stayed sitting on the floor, but leaned back against the bed, drawing one leg up against his chest. Looking up at Marcus, Gale lifted his hand, spreading two fingers in a "peace" sign.
"Yes," he said, and smiled.
