Mai unconsciously tucked some errant hair behind an ear as she glanced around at the opposing teams. So many sandcastles occupying the beach now. What the heck was supposed to happen with these silly little structures anyway? The whole thing was a lot of fun, sure.. but.. aww Hellma's socks, why question it? Mai was sure she'd have plenty of time to worry later when things weren't so warm and mellow.
Smiling, she leaned over her teammates and peered curiously at their creation.
"Ah.. Is.. this what it's supposed to look like?" she asked, tilting her head to one side. The castle was kind of.. lumpy. Well, she'd better get to helping, it looked like they were supposed to be finished already. Only, she wasn't sure what she was supposed to do. The ghost tentatively draped a piece of seaweed over one of the lumpy sand towers, then poked her index finger into a few places that looked like they needed windows. Then she poked a few more windows in because it was fun. "Are.. we done with it?"

Vaith ddin't say it but he liked Night's analogy. But as silent and straight-faced as he was, making the moat, he consciously patted a side of the bump Mai was working on to make it a little straighter.
"I have no clue, Aurian, what leads you to the convlusion that I have any more knowledge on sand castles than you do. But we're in a competition, so I assume a really impressive one. Maybe something like Amityville but in this grain-sand mode thing."
A few more pats and some straightening up on the sides.

WAVE 1: CRABS, CRABBBBBBBBBBBBS HP 40/40Scuttling right towards the team was an army of oversized crabs, their pincers waving menacingly. They were ready to destroy all things sand and castle related. CRAB DEFENSE MECHANICS: CRAB VERSUS THE CASTLEA swarm of seagulls come and deflect the crab away from the castle! However, it is still heading towards YOU. CRAB VERSUS THE CONTESTANTS- EVEN IF YOUR CASTLE STOPS THE CRABS, you still need to delegate them away from your castle, so they do not hurt YOU. There is nothing stopping it from hurting YOU. - Roll NORMALLY (no Fear charges), 2d6 -6 if you are a Y1, 2d8 - 6 if you are a Y2 to determine your damage AGAINST THE CRABS. Year 1's have 30 HP, Y2's have 40. - The crab has a sum total of 40 HP. Every time you hit the crab, you take 5 damage. If your TEAM LEADER is KO'ed your group is disqualified! - You can hit the crab as many times as needed until it is dead. If your crab is not dead by the end of the OOC 24 hours/ one round, the crab will berserk and take out half your sandcastle's HP. - To attack the crab, once again, roll your attack, WRITE UP YOUR RP POST, and subtract 5 from your HP every time. Make sure to also post at the bottom of your post Your total HP, the damage you do to the crab, and the crab's total (remaining HP.

Mai was really only paying half attention to the announcer and ambassador as their voices rose over the crowd. It wasn't until she realized that things were shifting rather alarmingly, that she began to pay closer attention. The once tiny sand castle loomed over her as the whole world seemed to expand to ridiculous proportions. Everything was so candlejacking big!
Before Mai had time to think about what was happening, a giant crab thundered its way toward them. "What in the name of Halloween," she said, transfixed as the creature came scuttling across the sand. She probably should have.. you know.. dodged or moved out of the way. Instead, she reacted far too late. A massive spear-like foot came down at her, and she tried to knock it away with her arms. Her clumsily executed attack had no effect whatsoever and she was knocked through the air to land on her rear some distance away.

For some reason this crab was on Mai like flies on a Carry on. Before the ghost even had time to recover from the last attack, a colossal red claw came smashing down at her. She kicked wildly from the ground, managing to deflect the attack enough so that she wasn't crushed entirely. Still, the blow was substantial, and Mai's legs ached something fierce from the impact. She struggled to her feet and limped awkwardly toward the castle so she could recoup.
"Jacking crab," she muttered angrily through clenched teeth.
Mai's HP: 20

Night gleamed happily at their finished product and turned to Aurian before shrugging, "I am the princess's cat yeah? All the loving and spoilage of a cat in royalty." He seemed to look off dreaily before snapping back, "Ah I wish but Simone she has....gone to her parents for a long time. I think it happened after the last field trip somewhere." He smiled sadly as he thought of Red's death.
"The bird is fake?!?!?!" Night looked heartbroken. There went lunch...
And just as he thought that,
That appeared. Where was a giant pot when you needed it!
"Dinner!" Night joined Mai in the battle, he got hit by the giant swinging claw of the beast but he retaliated well enough by biting some part of fleshiness. It didn't taste that good yet....needed some lemon.

Augh the hits he was taking was making it difficult for the Cat to focus on the fact that this was going to be DINNER.
"Mai, are you alright?" He watched the ghoul take another hard hit before cringing. Well that did it.
"Crab, you are going down." Night jumped it, rolling around to avoid its huge legs and attack one of them. He was pleased with the crab faltered for a second.

Night flew back as the crab swung him away, his back hit the ground hard. s**t. That hurt more then he wanted to admit. Stupid crab. Now Night didn't even want to EAT you.

As if to form some pathetic shield, Vaith laid his jacket onto Mai's limping figure, raising his eyebrows at the monster crab. It sure was a beahc adventure alright-- And as the title he was dubbed, the courageous knight, Vaith probably should be taking on that role.
Also, you know, the castle they built was pretty damned gorgeous and Vaith wasn't going to let anyone destroy that moat.

Night watched as Vaith made his move and applauded his friend. He had Knight down to a T. Night looked over to Aurian and Lacie though and frowned.
"Be careful Queen and Princess." Night grinned before shrugging, "Let the Knights whittle him down so you can come in for the final kill!"

Okay now Night was getting tired. He did his best. Flopping in the sand, he laid off to the side like...
"Good luck Princess and Queens. We...did...our...best." He flopped down, curling in the sand like it was a nest for himself.
And then the crab walked all over him.

Lacie patted their castle by the time it was done with a proud look. It wasn’t until a few moments later that she turned around at the sound of something stampeded towards them, her first thought being:
WHY WERE THERE CRABS D: They were even scarier than their fake bird ;_; W-what was this field trip even..
Rushing to Mai’s side, the little reaper tried to help the ghost up while Knight and Vaith valiantly attacked. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Night collapse. Struggling to keep her composure, Lacie tried to play along with (what she thought to be) Night’s last words.. the horror. “You did good my Knight.” Lacie stood above Night’s crumpled form. With a tremendous amount of effort, she pulled night’s heavy body to the side so that the crab could stop stepping over her friends.
“We are.. the final kill?” Since Lacie played very little bideo games, she didn’t quite understand Night’s words.
Lacie joined the battle, inflicting a bit of damage before she was thrown back against the sand.

"Dinner?" Aurian looked up when Night cried out. She didn't see any food... just some strangely armoured animals. For some reason, they wanted to attack the sandcastle. Aurian scowled. Not on her watch!
Grabbing a bucket still half-full with sand, Aurian threw it at the crab's head.
