The vaisel in his arms seemed happier as they went up the stairs, and he did not blame her. It was warmer up here, and with her basically acting like a heater for him he did not feel half bad by the time he reached the top of the stairs. He waited in the hallway, knowing that it would take some time for Alexander to make it up all of those stairs. As he waited he cradled the loving vaisel in his arms, wishing that she was not fiery. She was such a good pet, and Alexander probably liked her if he had made Yin promise not to hurt her. She had only burnt a few papers as well, and she was probably just trying to keep warm. Already she seemed to be just a little less hot, with her embers mostly settled.
Finally Alexander reappeared, and it was clear that he was trying not to look at the creature in his arms so Yin turned and began to make his way to the door. ”For now I shall take her back to my room until you decide what to do with her. I think it might be good for her to get somewhere warmer.” Not to mention that going somewhere warmer sounded wonderful to Yin. ”I am not sure if you would want to go back with me or not…she will be in my room, but I will keep her away from you. And there is not very many…things she can set on fire.” If Alexander had not let his room get so trashed there would not have been papers to set on fire after all.

Alex followed behind Yin, not wanting to be left alone after such a traumatic experience even if the other boil was holding the cause of said trauma. "Are--are you planning on going back to sleep right away or will you be up for awhile?" He asked, still not at all sure of what the time was.
"I just..I don't want to be alone right now.." He muttered quietly, feeling fairly ashamed as he struggled to keep up with Yin but stared down at the floor.
"And I don't think she would intentionally hurt me. You're right, she was just too cold in my room. I--I brought the pamphlet so we can read more about her..." he felt like he was rambling, a little desperately, as though he were afraid Yin was going to abandon him now, even though the weremantis had pretty much invited Alex back to his room if he wanted to go. His voice was obviously panicked again, though, and he almost wanted to reach out to grab at Yin and stop him.

With most of the worry gone now, and having stood around waiting for the zomboil had allowed Yin to finally relax a little, so the mention of sleep meant that he actually remembered that it was indeed the middle of the night. And he truly would not mind sleeping some more. But with the zomboil in the shape that he was in he would do his best to fight that urge as long as possible. "I am sure she did not intend any harm Alexander. And no, I am awake now and I will not be going back to sleep immediately. I would be happy to have you keep me company for a while."
He shifted the vaisel over to fully fit in one arm, shifting his balance a bit to keep her firmly glued to his chest and reaching out with his free hand to open the door, following him into the slightly cooler air. "Yes, perhaps we should learn more about her, to see if there is anything to be done." He kept his hand free and held it out toward the zomboil, hoping that maybe it would reassure him slightly. "It is probably a good thing that you brought this to read, I am afraid I do not have too many things for us to do in my room." It was a rather lame attempt at a joke, but at least he was trying to lighten the mood.

Alex's panic began to ease as Yin assured him that he would not be going to bed right away and that the zomboil could indeed accompany him back to his room. "I...I wish she hadn't turned out the way she is...I'm going to miss having her around." He admitted. She had been perhaps the friendliest and most personable pet he'd ever had. Even the scentem death, who occasionally would attempt to take a bite out of Alex when he was particularly hungry, was not nearly so affectionate as Terror had been.
Alex followed Yin outside, eagerly taking the offered hand, his own hands still trembling faintly but it subsided quickly once they got on their way. It was like a huge weight had been lifted, knowing that his room had not been completely destroyed, his pets were safe, the undead dorms were not going to be burnt down because of Alex, and the vaisel was being handled by Yin, who had not even hesitated to help Alexander in his time of need. Yin may have felt ridiculous thinking about leaning into Alex, but the zomboil held no such qualms and found himself wishing he weren't quite so tall so he could rest his own head against Yin's shoulder. He really felt as though he had the best and most perfect boilfriend ever in that moment.
"Well...she's probably easily trainable...she seems fairly intelligent at least. But the shop sold me something different then what they told me I was paying for. They should definitely be contacted about it." Alex was determined on that front. He was going to give them a piece of his mind.
As to Yin's other comment...well, if Yin wasn't so weird about physical contact, Alex might have been able to think of something to do in his room. As it was though, those thoughts didn't even register in the zomboils mind because they were just too unobtainable at this point to even imagine. So Alex actually laughed, though only a little. "Maybe I should start bringing some of my books over and leaving them so I have something to do." he teased. "Then I wouldn't have to leave." He also meant it as a joke, since of course he had to leave at some point. It wouldn't do for him to sit there all night long while Yin slept.

That was because, unbeknownst to the majority of Amityville, Yin was the best boilfriend that had ever existed. Or at least, that was probably what Princess Eva would tell anyone she could, because her boil was the best at everything. At the moment though, Yin seemed to be the best support in Halloween as Alexander seemed to almost be leaning on him as they walked back to the Monster dormitory.
"Yes, the store certainly should have known better. Will you be able to...call...them? Or will we need to go back to the maul tomorrow?" The vaisel seemed blissfully unaware that they were talking about her fate at that very moment.
Alexander was beginning to lightly talk about bringing things to Yin's room to leave there, and Yin did not comment on it until they were almost back to the monster dormitory, not sure whether his silence made it awkward or not. "Perhaps a few books would be fine for you to bring over, but they will have to stay in a specified place, and you would have to put them back." He said that rather firmly, the zomboil was not going to clutter up his room like he had done to his own. He did not even comment on whether or not the zomboil was welcome, he had made that more than clear.
After that it was not too terribly long for them to reach the dorm, and then Yin's room. He opened the door carefully, and the vaisel in his arms began wriggling happily before twisting out of her arms and rushing to greet her Fei and Princess Eva. After entering the warmer dormitory she had started to perk up a bit more and her embers had all but vanished, though she still gave off the vibe that she was smoldering.

"I can just call them." He shrugged, "But of course, if I want a refund I'll have to take her back." He really didn't want to have to do that, though, and the thought of having to do so left him feeling very hallow inside. She was just such a good pet. Why did she have to be a fire type? Whhhhyyyy?
He trudged along in sudden silence, wondering if he had said something to upset Yin for him to become so quiet. Just when he was about to open his mouth to start up a new topic of conversation, the weremantis spoke.
Well, obviously they would go in a specified place! All of Alex's books were well kept, and stayed in a bookshelf in his room, the exception being whichever one he might currently be reading, and even then he tended to keep them carefully bookmarked and placed where they would not come to any harm from his pets. It was just everything else Alex didn't really take care of, including himself. Was Yin trying to hint at something? His tone sounded suspiciously like the one his mom used to use before telling him to clean his room. Well, Alex was having none of that! He had already started showering more regularly and cleaning his clothes. His room was his filthy haven, and it was going to stay that way!
Sometimes Alex just felt very stubborn. This was one of those times, and Yin hadn't even made the suggestion yet.
"Of course.." he mumbled, suddenly feeling very sullen, and possibly a little sulky. All from a tone of voice? Yep. After that it was an incredibly quiet walk to the monster dorms, and back to Yin's bedroom.
Alex followed Yin into the room, moving to the side so that Yin could shut the door behind him, and smiling at the little runic vaisel that toddled out to greet the fiery ghoul. Alex still wasn't completely comfortable around her, but at least she looked a little less...hot, at the moment, and that had to be a good thing. Pulling out the pamphlet from his back pocket, he began to flip through the pages, looking for a specific page.

Yin watched the pets for a moment fondly before turning to see what Alexander was doing. He had taken out the paper that he had picked up at the pet store and flipping through it. Yin went to stand next to him, glancing at the pamphlet. When he finally stopped on one page Yin sidled up to him, leaning toward the page to get a closer look. Yes, that certainly did look like an image of the fiery ghoul.
Having seen his fill, and not wanting Alexander to think he was bothering to read the text he straightened up again, only to crouch down to pet Princess Eva as she came to check him out and make sure that he was alright after having been suddenly taken from her in the middle of the night. "What does it say about her?" he questioned. Then a thought crossed his mind and he cast a curious look up at Alexander. "And what did you name her? Or have you given her a name yet?" Perhaps it was not the best to be talking about the name of a pet that Alexander would not be keeping, but he could not help but be curious.

Alex flipped through the pages, feeling awkwardly distracted by Yin who was standing nearby as though he expected something to happen. When Alex stopped at the page with the description of the balerion vaisel, complete with a picture that looked almost identical to Terror, Yin got very close, which might have been more distracting if Alex wasn't so eagerly attempting to submerse himself in some new knowledge in order to keep himself from having another panic attack. Unconsciously he reached out with a free hand to place on Yin's back, always craving more physical contact, but the other boil moved away so it was just the barest brushing of finger tips that may have trailed down Yin's spine as Alex let the hand drop back down to his side and then dug it into his pocket as he leaned back against the wall and continued to hold the pamphlet with one hand while he read.
He was pulled out of his reading by Yin, who seemed to think Alex was a speed reader or something. Well, he could read pretty damn fast, so he had almost finished off all of the info. Plus there wasn't all that much information to give, anyways.
"Not much." He answered, "Just that they prefer warmer climates, and that the colder the area they are living, the hotter they get. They can burn things, but it only happens rarely and when they are under a lot of stress. which I guess she must have been when she was separated from her friend and then forced to live in my cold bedroom. Oh, and they don't like water much." It made sense, really.
As to Yin's other question, Alex grimaced, closing the almost useless pamphlet and looking over at Yin. "I didn't actually have a proper name for her yet. I---I am really not good at naming things, Yin. None of my pets have concrete names that I call them by every single day. Right now though? I'm calling her Winged Terror." He didn't know if Yin would find that amusing or not.

It almost felt as if there was something crawling on his back, which made him itch like mad as he tried to focus and not start yawning. Princess Eva waited until he scratched under her chin before she left to go back to the vaisels. Now Fei looked rather small in comparison, and may have also looked a bit disgruntled.
"So, she was under stress living in your room? I am sure she would not have tried to set anything on fire otherwise. And she had just lit a few pieces of paper." A brief flash of worry illuminated his face as he straightened up. "I hope that she did not destroy anything important. Actually though...she reminds me somewhat of Miss Danny. I do not believe that she works well in water, so perhaps she could help us understand her."
No proper name for her? That was not the end of the world, she was a relatively new pet and names were important. Not a decision to be taken lightly. He would have left it at that had it not been for what the zomboil said next. "None of them? You do not name any of them?" The look on his face was clearly dismayed as he turned and reached out to grasp the other boil's arm. He almost missed what Alexander had named the balerion in his distress. "But Alexander, names are important. Surely you do not...you never name them?"
If that was the case than what he was calling the vaisel, Winged Terror, was actually a great improvement. "I suppose that Winged Terror does work for her, it does somewhat describe her." Well, winged did. She looked no more terrorizing than any other fluffy pet did to Yin. Especially not with the way that she was playing with Fei who had an obvious disadvantage due to his size.

"I...I don't think there was anything too important lying around on the floor." Alex shrugged, since it was likely just some old homework or garbage that he had tossed into a pile on the floor of his room. As for the comparison of the vaisel to Danny? Alex actually had to agree. Danny didn't precisely mean to scare Alex or do anything to cause him harm, but she still had the ability and that made the zomboil incredibly nervous around her, even if he did find her friendly and easy to get along with otherwise.
"....Maaayyybeee..." he hesitated. Wait, why were they even thinking about it? He was going to be taking her back to the pet shop tomorrow, right? They didn't need to understand her, they just needed to get rid of her.
His stomach had that strange hollow icy feeling again.
"Well..n-no.." Alex stammered, a little surprised by Yin's reaction. He would have stepped back a bit, but he was already firmly planted against the wall, as Yin's hand wrapped around his arm. He slowly reached over and attempted to remove Yin's hand from his arm, careful not to get accidentally stabbed with the other boils claws, but kept the other boils hand held loosely in his own when finished, and Yin could easily pull it away if he wished.
"They have..names..of a sort. I don't know Yin, it just never seemed all that important to me!" suddenly an idea struck him. "Why don't you help me come up with appropriate names for all of them sometime? It's obvious I could use the help...."
And here they went again, talking about the vaisel as though she were a permanent pet. Was Yin hinting that he didn't want Alex to get rid of her? It was so hard to tell what the weremantis was thinking most of the time.
"So..uh..if I don't take her back to the pet shop, what other options do we have?"

Alexander seemed a little taken aback by Yin's response, but he had not even bothered to name his pets! Not even the ones that he had likely had since before he had ever met Yin. Not even the one that Yin had captured for him (though admittedly he had been half tempted to turn it into dinner. Of course it was slightly upsetting, especially when a name was one of the few things that you owned and could not be taken away from you (demons excluded of course). What was more peculiar was that Alexander seemed to be trying to turn it into a time to hold hands. And now he was...asking him to help him name his pets? "I...I am not sure that I would be the best to help you," he admitted, faintly flustered. "All of the names that I would come up with would probably be in the naming language of the Mantodae, but if you co not mind that?"
"If you did not take her back? Are you thinking about keeping her around?" Well, it somewhat made sense. Alexander obviously cared at least a little bit for the vaisel, and she was a very good pet. And Fei truly seemed to adore her and such. Princess Eva was playing with the two, and it would certainly be hard to separate Winged Terror from the lot of them. But obviously she could not stay with Alexander. One night of interrupted sleep was one thing, but the zomboil could not wake him up every night to take care of his needs.
But nor would it be right for Yin to just take the ghoul off of his hands. Alexander had wanted one for a pet, or else he never would have purchased her. An idea finally occurred to Yin, and he offered it hesitantly. "Perhaps we could trade? I could look after Winged Terror and you could look after Fei. I am sure that she would still be able to protect Princess Eva, she does have fire at her disposal?" His idea was probably ridiculous, but it was honestly the best that he could come up with in the middle of the night. Then he frowned, "But that would mean that she would still be here, and if that would bother you then we would have to think of something else. I would prefer it if you were comfortable here."

Alex's eyes dropped to the floor. Of course having Yin name all of his pets would be a bad idea, and the other boil wouldn't want to do it. He'd just have to do it himself sometime, to pacify the weremantis. Yin hadn't taken his hand back, so instead of letting go completely, Alex actually intertwined his fingers with Yin's, squeezing gently. It was just for comfort after a stressful night, or at least, that's what he told himself to make it okay to be wanting to have so much physical contact. "Ya, okay, I'll figure it out somehow and give them all names by myself, if you think that's what would be best."
It was so weird. Alex's mood and emotions seemed to be so up and down and all over the damned place tonight. It was probably just from the stress, but it was fairly disconcerting.
"I..I don't know what to do with her, honestly. Maybe I could find her a good home..." he let that train of thought cut off though, because he didn't want to just find her a new home. She belonged with Fei, and it would be a shame to seperate the two of them. He and Yin had bought them together mostly because Alex could tell Yin didn't want to have them separated.
But then Yin said the perfect thing, coming up with the perfect solution. But did the other boil mean it? Would he trade vaisels? "I..I think that's a great idea, actually." He admitted out loud. "But only if you are absolutely willing to? I mean, Fei is yours, I don't want to take him away from you. If you want to have both of the vaisels, then that could also work...." And would it bother Alex that Terror was still here? That she would be here every time Alex came to visit? It didn't bother him nearly as much as the thought of just getting rid of her completely did.
"As long as you are here too, I'm sure I will still be comfortable in your room." He smiled, looking up from the floor finally to lock eyes with Yin. "What do you think would be best?"

Alexander was no longer meeting his eyes, and almost seemed resigned when Yin did not leap to help him. "No, these are your pets. It is whatever you think is best. If you desire my help of course I will give it, but I would need to get to know them, or perhaps you could tell me more about them." He left his fingers intertwined with Alexander's and if anything perhaps put a bit more pressure on them. It was nice to hold hands with him like this. When there was nothing too urgent and it was just an affirmation that he was there with him, and not needing to worry about anyone seeing them.
If he was willing? Of course he was willing to trade vaisels with him. He was not so attached to Fei that he did not mind sending him to live with the zomboil, even if there was that faint, niggling worry that the vaisel could get lost in the piles of trash. "No, you should take him, and bring him to visit. Princess Eva will be fine with just one bodyguard and I do not want to take yours away from you. They have only been here a couple of days so he should readjust easily enough."
Finally Alexander was looking up to meet his eyes, a rather odd thing for him to need to do as he was so much taller. "If you will still come to my room with her in here then I would very much like to trade. Then neither of them has to go and we still have the pair. It would be a shame to separate them." He smiled up at Alexander, rather content that they had managed to work everything out.
He finally broke their lingering gaze to glance over at the pets. "But...I may not keep her name as Winged Terror. Well, I might, but I shall probably call her something different." He grinned as he watched, the vaisels were clearly not on the same level as Princess Eva. "Not a Princess but...a lady? Lady Terror? That should sound fearsome enough to any would be attackers. What do you think?" He looked back to the zomboil for his approval, hoping that he would not mind Yin changing the name he had picked out.

Alex didn't care about naming his pets. He really, truly did not give two jacks about it, and never had. But it just felt oddly like Yin thought that was a very terrible thing. If all he had to do was come up with a few names, he could probably do that no problem. He already seemed to have dubbed the black rabbit 'creature' so now he was just going to have to come up with names for all of the rest.
Including that pink, lacy looking one that he kept secured in his closet. He really aught to let her out at some point.
"Most of them are undead like me, and are shy and like to hide in the garbage on the floor in my room." He laughed a tiny bit, for some reason finding that oddly amusing. "I think I can come up with names for all of them on my own, anyways. Just forget that I even asked." The gentle pressure Yin added by squeezing his hand the slightest bit was a welcome surprise that made the zomboil feel all warm and fuzzy inside and helped to relieve a lot of the tension that had been building up inside of him.
Alex's eyes finally lit up, the dullness that had been haunting them all night almost dissipating when Yin confirmed that he didn't mind if they swapped vaisels. The smile on his face was suddenly warmer as well, and he had the strongest urge to pull Yin into a happy embrace, which he just barely managed to hold out against. He didn't want to ruin the moment by accidentally upsetting the weremantis, after all. So instead he just said a quiet "Thank you." while reaching up to run his hand through his hair and push it out of his eyes.
"And I'll bring him over as often as I can." He nodded resolutely.
And then back to the subject of names. Well, Alex wasn't going to change the runic's name, as it seemed to suit both him and his new owner in very different ways yet still seemed appropriate. But if Yin wanted to change Terror's name, a name that Alex had just given her on the spot and really held no meaning to the zomboil, then that was fine with him. "Lady Terror?" He said, somewhat amused.
"I think it's an appropriate name for her." He decided, following Yin's gaze to watch the three pets together. It was actually a pretty cool name for a pet, admittedly. Reluctantly, he released Yin's hand so that he could move, a little hesitantly, towards the balerion vaisel. Kneeling down on the floor, he looked at her with perhaps a little bit of sadness in his eyes, and held out his hand to Fei, who had come over to greet him, giving him scratch behind his ears even while he still looked at Terror.
"Sorry it didn't work out, ghoul, but you'll probably be much happier here anyways. Try not to...burn my boilfriends room down." He said to her, cringing a little, fairly certain that she didn't actually understand him, but feeling like he aught to say something to her anyways. Fei was already trying to climb into his lap, pawing at his legs and trying to get attention. It was almost like the small vaisel kitten knew what was happening.

Oh, so was the trash there for his pets? Still, he could probably make do with his garbage and dirty laundry in one corner and not everywhere in the room. And surely not all of his pets really wanted to live like that. Had he heard something about a minipets rights club or something like that? Or seen a poster for it? He certainly was not going to forget the issue, or the naming one, but Alexander seemed to want to drop it.
The zomboil seemed pleased enough, and was moving his hand through his hair, moving it so that Yin could actually see both eyes. Then the zomboil took his hand away. He might have been satisfied, but Yin was feeling the oddest thing. It was like whatever they had been sharing was over and he had not finished with Alexander. Like the zomboil had completed and he had not been ready to stop. It was an unsettling feeling that he really did not understand so he ignored it to focus on the minipets.
Lady Terror seemed a bit confused. Her owner was looking at her and talking to her but was petting Fei. She started toward him and Yin darted forward to pull her back, scooping her up in his arms. "Not now Lady Terror." Princess Eva watched all of this unfold, mildly miffed that no attention was being paid to her. She waited until her boil was looking right at her and then she yawned. The response was almost instantaneous, a yawn of his own that he could not hold back now that the subliminal message was embedded in his mind's eye.
