He was very excited for the trials, but Ren knew quite well he was not exactly the best when it came to deciphering puzzles.
And he did not like numbers. Where was that damned birdbrained reaper when he needed him?
"Yo, guys, I've got the clue - let's figure this out."
If worst came to worst, he could just blame Tybalt. This seemed like a good plan.

Bul was sleepy and tired the morning of the eve of the trials. He was doing a lot of over sleeping so that maybe he would need LESS sleep during the exhaustion of the trials. When West returned to them with a paper he groaned and smacked his forehead in frustration.
"Noooooo..." he grumbled, perhaps sharing the wrath demon's... wrath-fullness towards this BS.

The country ghoul was up and ready to go! What would they be doing today?! Jumping obstacles? Racing against giant boulders threatening to bury them into the ground beneath their feet?!
Oh. Paper. This was what they were here for today? Offering a smile and chuckling at the obviously tied out half beast, Levi peered over to see the paper West carried in his hand.
Her face contorted into one of confusion. These...'er numbers...

Oh no . . . nonono. Braining was not a zombie thing (unless yo uncounted eating them) - braining wasn't even a Mort thing. Oh Jaaaackdamnit, he hoped the others had a better idea than this. He took the slip of paper with a small sigh, quickly texting the others to get over here and fast.
Ho boil.

Calder sat beside his group, looking unsure about everything. Clues? The idea of competing against each other was bothersome to him. They were trying to fight hunters, meaning they had to stick together, had always fought together, and now they had to work against each other just to prove to the clans in order to get the help they needed. The fact they didn't just offering their help out of all being part of Halloween angered him, but as it was, they were all stuck trying to impress the Horsemen. After all they went through, after loosing a staff member for Jack's safe, they had to prove themselves.
Seeing as he wasn't as bulky to be slipping through the aisles, Calder rose up and moved past the group. "I'll get it." He pointed out, not wanting to step on their leader's toes, but just offering to help. As it as, in games of intelligence, he felt he would be relying more on Barth and Christof's combined knowledge. The least he could do was fetch the clue.
Trotting up, he took the clue. The one thing that could give them an edge, and slowly walked back, holding it and not looking at it until he was with his group. Prying eyes and all that.
He came back and offered Christof the clue. "Well, we should get going."

"Let me see let me see!" Came the indignant reply of the green eared hellhound Demi, jumping up from behind levi and her horrible tail to take a peek at the note they were given.
It must have been a map through some kinda trial, filled with traps and danger and maybe a rolling boulder. And treasure and-
it was nothing of the sort, just numbers. The pups tail went from swishing a mile a minute to a slow, disappointing waggle, as did his ears. "Numbers aren't boss." he mentioned back glumly and kicked at a nearby pebble.

Israfel more or less was excited. Excited and curious. Then again, he was like that most days. Looking for his group members, the siren was smiling. Pony trails. YAYYYY PONIES.
Even if the pony on stage needed new clothes. And some food.

Sepheran lightly clicked his tongue against his teeth as he stared down at the piece of paper that was handed out. So it was a trail of the minds of sorts so far? Well...that sounded like something he could handle at least. Judging from the numbers and the clue he had an idea of where to start, now it was just time he found his group and talked it over with them. After all, four minds was better then one.
Straitening up Sepheran held up his hand a bit so Liannan could slither her way up his arm to get above the crowd. This way she could easy spot his group for him, or maybe they might spot her and come his way instead.

Today was the day it started, and man was Whisper ready. She had been pumping herself up since the assembly. She knew she needed to be a good leader, and that her team would be depending on her. She wanted to make them proud, and show herself she could do it. And this would be her first task.
She took the clue with a smile and a nod, leaving to confer with her team mates.

A clue. Who knew what they could return with if they solved the puzzle? Determined to be not only the first to reply, but entirely correct, Taryn jogged back to meet her team, and to lock them down for the night. Mort was a useful co-captain indeed.
"You've got it? Good. Let's see if we can't crack the code. I think I know where we can begin..."

Johan lifted his head from the slim book he'd been frowning over at Hidiyya's remark. "Vith good reason." he protested, but nevertheless slid the book inside his robes, and gingerly accepted the slip of paper from the ghoul. Quite honestly, he was surprised that the much talked about Trials were starting like this. He'd been expecting some ghastly gauntlet of fire and cute things, not a puzzle. The numbers were cryptic enough, though. Still... "I zink I know a few places ve can start looking." he ventured, looking up at Hadiyya and further up at G. He'd seen the giant boil around campus before (he was hard to miss!), but had never talked to him before. It was somewhat assuring to know that they had an ample amount of muscle handy should the Trials become physical. Though Johan had his doubts. Then again, Johan always had doubts. About everything.

After a bit of discussion with his team, though with little input from Titus, they finally came up with an answer. Honestly his brain couldn't keep up with it all, not that he was going to let on. He was more than willing to prove he could do something, however, and was quick to snatch the paper Riyo had written the answer on and trudged back to the gym folding it neatly between his fingers on his way.
Finally he arrived and stood in front of the horseman clan member presenting the folded piece of paper that concealed what his team had come up with. Honestly, Riyo's deductive powers were rather clever....but he would never tell her that. More than likely he would mock her later for being an egg head.

Puzzles? Oh Jack, Amrita hated puzzles! They always involved thinking, and...well, most times that was not a strength she possessed. In fact, she was so worried about it that she said absolutely nothing and did, in fact, pretend she wasn't there at all. Because that was how you acted when you didn't want someone to call on you, right? Yes. She was just...part of the gym! Part of the gym that had every intention of shadowing this group.
Because the gym did that, right?
She did try to take a peek at the paper though, and saw a string of numbers...
.. ....
Yup, this one is for the smarter ones of her group.

A puzzle? Christof was immediately interested, stiffening in his seat as he nodded to let Calder go get it. Immediately he read it over, mind mulling over what it could possibly mean... he grunted to Barth, a look of desperation on his face. Maybe his being the leader wasn't as good an idea as he thought. With a whine, he pushed it forward. The Sloth could handle this one.

Barth dozed on the gym floor. He had started sitting sort of upright, but after a lot of teetering, ended up leaning on Christof's shoulder. He should stay awake for instructions. Really. But deep down, he'd just rather sleep through the whole thing.
He pried open one eye at Christof's grunt and nudge.
Ah.
If it was one long puzzlefest, that'd be alright. Mathletics.
"Ask Lizzy," he mumbled, closing his eyes again.
