Candace was checking her phone when Rep arrived, frowning at the time. She looked disappointed. Sad. Heartbroken. Like a child who had just dropped their ice cream but not had a single bite yet."..Not much. The park is closed." Disappointment. "We still have to go though, apparently. I already told the guard where to send us...we'll just investigate with no civilians in the way." She hoped. Jordan arrived, speaking as shortly as ever. Candace frowned. You don't suppose he-- "Of course not." She snapped, eyes widening when she realized she said that at loud. "UH I mean, yeah. Sure. Go for it. Here, I already have it open." She offered him her hiPhone, giving him time to read before gesturing to the portal. "We'll come up with a gameplan when we know what the situation there is. I've never been in a theme park after it closes."She took her phone back and pocketed it, stepping into the portal. As they stepped out of the portal there was a chiming of music and the voice of a young woman. "Good evening, Magic Kingdom! The park has been officially cleared of its final guest and will be closed until eight a.m. tomorrow morning for Extra Magic Hours. Have a good night, Magic Kingdom!" Candace blinked. Eh? The hell was that? Did they do that every night? The music stopped playing, the attractions weren't going, and suddenly gates Candace didn't even know ******** existed were opening up and allowing trucks through. ...This was almost mind blowing. Everyone was wearing obnoxiously bright orange and yellow reflective vests. Oh dear. She hummed and slyly grabbed three of them out of a nearby box, tossing them to her teammates. "When in Rome~." Survey Mission 3BGeneral debriefing: Children have been reported missing for a continuous span of two weeks recurring in *YOU CHOOSE A CITY/LOCATION*. Witnesses claim that they have seen them last at various attractions in the area, though their bodies have yet to be found. Dispose of whatever is kidnapping the children and rescue the children if possible. * C class difficulty level (must have a team of three, at least one of them must be an intermediate trainee) MECHANICS * MECHANICS: RP assembling a team, as necessary, before heading towards the Lighthouse portal to request a portal to Survey Mission 3A. Once there, roll a 100-sided dice and match the roleplay to the results below, as well as any reactions. Players can continue rolling until any of the players roll a HALLOWEEN ENCOUNTER, in which case the BATTLE PHASE begins. See below for battle phase mechanics. 1- 20: You and your group have snuck into the theme park after hours, but you don't see anything out of the ordinary. 21 - 40: You notice that even though the rides and displays should have been turned off, there is the strange echo of music, and odd flickering lights from the corner of your eyes. 41 - 60: You stumble for a second, as if someone, one of your teammates have shoved you, but when you look around, you notice that there is noone else in sight. 61 - 80: You noticed engraved onto a display next to you an odd symbol, a strange spiral that rotates backwards in a hooked arc. 81- 100: BOSS ENCOUNTER: - In the darkness, it seems easier to spot the poltergeist, though its form occasionally flickers in and out. It realizes that your team is by far friendly, and begans to throw various objects at you. - BOSS MECHANICS: This boss has 50 HP. Every time you attack it (following the general battle rules), you TAKE 8 damage. Make sure to tally the boss's total HP (the damage you did to it) at the bottom of your post as well as your total HP and the damage you did that round. If the boss's HP hits 0, you have defeated it, and your team can now take the portal back. The poltergeist reveals at the very end that these children have already been taken.

Rep actually couldn't help but find her dissapointment contagious, not sure why he was sad that it was night time, he wasn't a little kid anymore there was no real /reason/ to be. Still would have been nice to see the place during the day.
He gave Jordan a nod of greeting, looking relieved Candace had actually opted to bring someone he could tolerate. He listened intently though, not about to underestimate any kind of mission after getting a taste of how bizzare things could take a turn for around here, even a theme park was probably capable of being filled with horrible surprises.
He looked around as they entered the place, as always jarred by the change in temperature and humidity when coming out of a portal. He almost jumped out of his skin as the voice piped up, quickly trying to brush it off as a cough. Yeah he didn't get ******** startled there, nope.
"Freaky" he stated matter-of-factly at the way everything seemed to change to business mode after the announcement, donning the reflective vest without a complaint, ******** health and safety, always with the ******** vests. "You know I heard they make soldiers wear these things on patrol in warzones sometimes? For health and safety? In full camo with a ******** /hi vis vest/."

Jordan hadn't actually liked Disneyland the last time he'd been there, but he kept that to himself, just scanning rapidly over the mission notes before handing the phone back with a nod. "Thanks," he said, and followed the others through the portal.
The heat and humidity were like a smack to the face; the island might have a perpetually damp atmosphere, but it wasn't hot. At least this mission was somewhere with similar air pressure levels; Jordan kind of hated stepping through a portal and finding the air suddenly considerably thinner than what he'd gotten used to. The sudden chime and voice made him jump, and he looked up at the nearest speaker. Huh. He wouldn't have thought that a park closing announcement addressed to the employees would be in that same chirpy tone that was used for visitor announcements.
The music stopped, and suddenly there were gates opening for the night crew to come in. Jordan took the vest and shrugged it on. "First rule of sneaking around," he said. "Act like you're supposed to be there."
He glanced at Rep. "What, seriously? That seems counterproductive."

"Exactly." Candace replied to Jordan's comment on stealth, taking off her hunter coat to pack it in her bag. Sometimes it just wouldn't do to show one's hunter pride if it meant they'd get caught not actually being part of the area they were in. Candace would like to think the three of them knew each other well enough to tell each other from the park employees.
"Oh look honey that bush has a vest how cute!" Candace laughed, shaking her head as she put on the vest she had picked for herself. "Alrighty, where to begin..."
A potted plant crashed to the ground inches from hitting Candace. She gasped and jumped away from it, watching as an apple came from nowhere aimed for Jordan.
Was that laughter...?

Rep nodded sagely. Then again, flourescent vests in warzones wouldn't be much harder to see than the usual hunter attire. But at least when you go shot for white jacket you'd die looking stylish and with your emblem in proud veiw.
What he didn't expect was their precence there to draw anything to them at all, especially not so soon. Hell he was expecting a nice little jaunt through the park after hours and maybe some excuse to steal some supplies to take back with them as souvenirs. Though he'd been thinking about food, he hadn't actually expected food to come to /them/ and as an apple sailed past he looked confused, looking around for the source. He didn't even assume any sort of sinister source to the item, was just looking to punch some smartarse's lights out.
But then he spotted something lurking just off the path they were on. Clued in as it threw a rock in their direction the flew wide of the mark but gave it away. It clearly wasn't human in the least, almost transparent and fading in and out now and then. And it paused as it spotted him clearly looking /at/ it. He smirked in his usual toothy way. In the past he'd have completely freaked out seeing something like this, but in the current situation it was so nice to be the hunters rather than the hunted.
"Seems to me like we've found one of the things we are looking for." The poltergeist, clearly feeling threatened hovered out into their path to loom menacingly before them, readying to attack. He didn't want to give it the chance and in a mere moment had summoned Tracey and swung out. He had no idea if he could even hit ghosts. But hit things first, ask questions later, if he went through the damn thing, then he'd think of something else.
However, he felt Tracey connect with a satisfying jolt of resistance along the handle. Hah.

The apple the poltergeist had thrown was not, in fact, an actual apple. It was an apple-shaped paperweight, and as such, had considerably more heft than fruit. It connected with Jordan's shoulder rather harder than he'd expected, and he grimaced. "Damn, that actually hurt. Looks like we've got a welcoming committee." He held his hand out and summoned Ferros; as the hammer materialized in his grip he added, almost as an afterthought, "If anyone sees us, I've thought of something, just go with what I tell them."
Rep had already conveniently pinpointed the poltergeist's location; as the other man moved back, Jordan darted in and brought Ferros around in a powerful stroke. For such an insubstantial-looking creature, the sense of impact as he hit it was remarkably satisfying, and Ferros hissed in gleeful assent.
The poltergeist made a high thin keening sound, wavering for a moment; Jordan backed up, grinning. "All yours, Candace."

Candace certainly hadn't been expecting for them to find anything this quickly, much less a ghost. A poltergeist, to be more specific. Annoying things, really. One once took my skirt and ran off with it. I know you never saw what I looked like before this, but making my kind run just doesn't happen. I was very distraught. His name was Gregory, and from that day on I hated him and swore I would eliminate him and all skirt-stealing poltergeist. My name is Atropos, prepare to die. Candace stopped to just stare down at her rings. You can't be serious. There was a chuckle and she could almost feel Atropos grinning. Maybe not that last part, but one did really steal my skirt. Take back my honor, Candace. Do it for me. Again with the made up stories~.
"Oh yeah?" Candace looked Jordan's way when he told them he had an idea for a cover story, summoning Atropos and watching him and Rep rush at the poltergeist like proper Suns.
When given the clear to go at it she took off, managing to jump and glance the thing's leg as it was floating out of her way with a cackle. Damn! Almost had it! It picked up another piece of decoration, this time a magnet from a nearby attraction's show schedule, and flung it at Candace like a frisbee. Holy s**t those things had sharper corners than she thought! She hissed, rubbing at her arm.

Rep looked on with approval as the others took their swipes at the ghost, smirking as they attacked. He'd been on the receiving end of both of their weapons in the past and knew all too well how much their attacks could hurt. He felt not a scrap of sympathy for the ghost though, all of these monsters had it coming their way.
Well of course ******** Tracey would have to be on their side. He reminded him to shut up and be an axe already and stop feeling sorry for the damn thing.
He waited his turn antsily, aware that all of them charging in at once would result in friendly fire of a horrible sort, but still utterly itching to get into the fray. The second Candace was out of range, he leapt in before the creature so much as got a chance to look his way, swinging his axe around in a huge arc and cleaving full force against it. Though poltergeists were more tricky than he could count on, as he leapt back, the ghost hit him on the back of the head with a rock. Probably one of the less strategic places to hit someone like Rep, all things considered.

The poltergeist seemed to be flinging things indiscriminately; Jordan dodged a stool that had been standing beside a closed kiosk, glancing after the clatter it made as it landed off to the side; the moment of distraction let the ghost pelt him with a shower of coins. "Hey," he said, and snorted. "You're not supposed to throw coins, y'know? Bills only."
He brought Ferros up in a sweeping arc, catching the thing from the side; Ferros's growl reverberated in his head, predatory and pleased.

There was thankfully too much noise at the construction site for anyone to notice the fight going on just around the corner. Candace watched a stool sail past them, narrowly avoiding being pegged with coins. "Way to make yourself sound like a stripper, Jordan." She laughed, still mostly oblivious to Jordan's knowledge on her situation with Jerry.
Candace barely glanced the poltergeist again. What is this s**t.

Rep tried to rub some feeling back into the bump on the back of his head from the damn rock as he let the other two rattle their attacks off at the creature. It was still ******** crazy he had to admit, fighting a ghost. He wouldn't have believed it if he wasn't doing it. Fighting a ghost in DISNEY WORLD. Seriously. This s**t was bananas.
He smirked at Jordan's comment as he was pelted with coins, somewhat amused by the ghost's random choice of projectiles. He almost choked at Candace's though. It was most definately not a mental image he needed right at that moment in time, especially not when he was trying to focus on the battle at hand. It completely obliterated his concentration.
Needless to say he hesitated too long and gave the ghost more than ample oppertunity to throw an entire chair at him. He cleaved the thing in half in mid air, utterly livid his own ******** stupid distraction. Of all the ******** things.
He swung the axe back into his grip and GLARED at the ghost. This was all its fault, it was going to pay.

"That so? Wouldn't have figured; I don't have extensive knowledge on the subject," Jordan replied. While Candace would usually have gotten a laugh and a smirk for her efforts, today his tone bore just the hint of an edge to it.
Setting examples, Ferros growled. While the dragon was excited, incoherent, his blood up, Jordan still caught what his weapon meant, and had a momentary flash of anger at himself. He'd left that joke wide open, and he could have expected Candace to pick up on it; it was unfair to take his irritation out on her and unprofessional to do it during a mission.
Sorry. Watching my words now, he answered, and took a swipe at the poltergeist. He'd lost a little focus with the exchange, and caught only its arm instead of a good solid body shot. Damn. Stupid, stupid, stupid. Its claws raked his arm and chest, tearing the safety vest, he gritted his teeth, felt Ferros snarl and flare with heat in eager anticipation.

"Neither do I, really. Though I've gotten a suggestion to check out taking pole dancing lessons and using a staff in battle to ground my weight. I'd demonstrate what he suggested with Ferros since his example was another Sun huntress with a hammer like yours, but I doubt you or Ferros or Atropos would appreciate it~." Still oblivious. Was it intentional? It was hard to tell.
She watched Rep go at the poltergeist only to miss, wincing. "It's okay, William. We all miss every now and then." This time she assumed it was he had that huge ******** axe. She watched him with a quiet frown, seeing how he was also being hit with a stool. "Careful, William. If you start to feel your FEAR shield is too weak step back and Jordan and I will take care of it, okay? Hopefully this will be the only one we see tonight..hopefully."
Maybe if they got this done faster he wouldn't have to hurt his pride or whatever backing down. Candace ducked under a flying stroller that had been left behind by a guest, looking around. Ah hey! A sign that hung out over the walkway! She grinned, hopping up onto a pile of decorative boxes and jumping up to grab the sign, she gasped as she nearly missed catching it, gripping it tightly and giving herself a swing. The poltergeist was thrown off by the trainee's little stunt and she was able to catch it with both feet, losing her grip on the sign and slamming down to the ground. Watchyourheadwatchyourhead! She managed to keep from letting her head hit the ground, but she'd brought the poltergeist down to the ground with her.
Candace totally meant to do that.
