Rikki frowned. Transfer schools? Jack. That wasn't okay. He leaned back until he was floating in the center of the spring, sort of spinning in slow circles at he listened to her. He wanted to ask questions, but her tone made it pretty clean it would be best to just drop the subject for now. He could just coax it out of her later.
"After I passed my exam my dad sent his corrividus with a train ticket and I went home. I was supposed to stay two weeks, but I only stayed one." He pressed his lips in a thin line. He'd never been happier to see his own dorm. He'd also never been happier to face plant into his bed, which was saying something. Rikki was always happy to get up close a personal with his sheets.

"How come?" she said idly, watching him swim around in little circles. Did Rikki like swimming? She'd never really though to ask- questions about water didn't exactly come up in daily conversation.
Idly, she began drying up all the water that was around her, just in case. Little shallow drips had formed on the ground, and she could never be too careful. The room was already making the air feel choked, and she didn't want to take any risks.

He scrunched up his face and shrugged, which kind off set him off balance and he flailed a bit until he was floating again. He was careful not to splash, however. "I just don't like being around my parents. They don't actually want me around, so I don't want to be around. I'm sure that if I had decided to come home after the first night they wouldn't have complained."
He closed his eyes and tried not to feel the emotional turmoil that came with conversations about his parents. Instead, he felt the warm soothing lick of water on his skin and marveled at how it almost felt thicker than normal water - like it was so jam packed with minerals it was somehow different.

Danny frowned. She couldn't comprehend parents not wanting their child around. While Danny's parents probably DIDN'T want her around half the time, Danny was a bit too dense to notice it. She thought her parents loved her just find. There was a strange logic in her density.
"I want you around," she offered, not really sure how to make the situation better. She started picking at little pebbles on the ground.
Awkwardly, she said, "If um. If you don't wanna tell me what happened, that's okay." She understood that Rikki's parents got upset. After knowing him for some time, she knew he got a strange sort of restrained look on his face when they came up. She knew him better than that.

His expression lightened and he even managed a please smile at her declaration. "I want you around too."
He fell silent for a moment and then shook his head just a fraction. "No, it's okay. It's not just my parents. They were their usual selves. But Ezhno was around, and he's doing so much better than I am. He's taking over his parent's company. Or starting to. I don't know. But he was even doing business deals with my parents." He turned his head and blinked at her. "I'll probably never be good enough to take over my parents' business, Danny." He hadn't realized until recently that he actually cared about that, but for some reason, he did.
"Then there was the s**t with Atlas and that sucked..."

Jackdammit. Why did they have to be in a hot spring with water? She wanted so much to comfort him and hold him close to her, but he was in the jackdamn water. She hated her physical limitations sometimes. What if Rikki was drowning in a lake or something? What the hell was she supposed to do then?
"Well ... then don't take over your parents' business," she said promptly. Danny couldn't quite empathize with Rikki the right way. Her parents never expected her to take over the business. Her brother certainly never expected her to even touch the family business. They all probably wanted her to go live somewhere far away where she couldn't ruin the family image.
She was never really good with advice. "I mean ... can't you just ... I dunno- do other stuff?" Yes. Rikki's future job: doing other stuff.
"Nevermind. What happened with Atlas?" she said, now interested in his story.

It sounded simple, really. But throwing away the idea of taking over his parents' business... well, it left him floundering in a sea of nothingness, with no idea what direction to go. He might not have been making progress before, but he at least had a general idea of what awaited his future. Now.... nope. Nothing.
He didn't voice any of that, just locked his jaw and grasped on to the next available conversation point. This one wasn't any more pleasant, but it was easier. "He jumped me." He said bluntly. "He was pissed about his family's debt to mine, so he jumped me and cut my hair." He wiggled his fingers in the air, though Danny couldn't possibly know that related to Atlas's blade like fingers. "Then he tried to beat on me and I used my FEAR, but it seemed more powerful. Ezhno found me and helped me escape before Atlas got his footing back, and when I got home and looked in the mirror, the stains on my arms were different."
Rikki rolled his tongue between his teeth. It all sounded ridiculous. "My dad saw the new marks in the morning and looked pissed."

Her eyebrows furrowed. She was going to find this "Atlas" and kick his butt. Kick it HARD. Wasn't this normally supposed to be the other way around?
Especially the haircutting part. Danny loved Rikki's long hair, and now that it was gone ... well it still looked attractive, but she LOVED his long hair.
She'd noticed the tattoo markings, but hadn't said anything about it. Though Rikki had tried to explain it to her, she'd never really understood what they were. Something to do with his chains? Something like that?
"Can you come out of the water?" Danny asked anxiously. It was really making her uncomfortable, and she wanted to somehow comfort him. "Or ... Or at least come closer?" Even if she could just lightly scratch his head like she always did- she just wanted to somehow affirm him in a way that others couldn't.

Rikki floated for a moment longer in the silence, but complied to her request after checking to see if she was still covered in lava. However, when he crawled out of the water and stood dripping wet at the edge, he kind of looked like a lost jox. He didn't want to get too close to her, because.. well... water. But he really wanted to get closer.

"Just uh. Just stand there for a second," she said, holding up two fireballs, "I promise I won't hurt you okay?" How many people hadn't believed that line?
She waited a moment or two for the overall dripping to stop, and then started heating him up and down. Danny did so in silence, but when she deemed him try enough, she crushed the fire and said, "Okay ... I guess it'll do."

Rikki waited patiently, trying not too flinch when the fire got precariously close to his skin. Ultimately he made it out unscathed, but not without a little be of stress making his head stutter. He made sure the fire was gone and then wrapped her in his arms, taking comfort in the fact that she was there again and things would go back to normal.
"Thank you."

Danny tensed up for a moment in his arms, and then relaxed all over again like she had in his room. He may have been slightly damp, but his skin felt like home to her. Rikki was her home.
She pulled away for a moment, taking his hands and moving him a couple steps away from the pool (just to be safe!).
After pulling him in closer, she didn't say anything, but brought her hands up to his chest, and then his broad shoulders. Her intent was pretty damn clear.

Nyyrikki wrapped his arms around her waist and leaned his head down until their foreheads touched. He really was lucky that she was willing to give him another try, when even he still didn't think he deserved it. But she was!
He pressed a smiling kiss to her lips and spun her in a little circle.

Hot springs? All of the times. Forever. Most of the time Yin wound up there on his own, it was not so popular yet that many students were visiting at any given hour. So he was not really paying attention to the entire cavern as he walked in and began heading toward the cavern to take the customary rinsing off shower.
Then he noticed that someone was in the room. He jerked his eyes off of the ground and searched for who it was.
And yelped in horror. What was...how...what...nonononononononono. Voice cracking he spoke even as he began backpedaling. "M-m-miss Danny?!"

Danny gladly- gladly- indulged in her Rikki. Her hands cupped his chin as she kissed him back, smiling just as widely as he was. As he spun her around, she gave a little giggle, squeezing him a little tighter, smiling a little brighter. Whatever Bea had said about getting down on one knee had apparently worked tri-fold.
A cry immediately had her turning her head, breaking a kiss halfway through, leaving her with a dopey happy expression on her face. Despite the surprise of another voice, she didn't detach from Rikki one bit. Not after she worked so hard to get here!
To her surprise, the voice belonged to her mantis friend, Yin! Though she was disappointed she had to share the spa with someone other than Rikki, Danny still spoke enthusiastically to the boil.
"Yinnn! What're you doing here?" she asked, a smile on her face. She her head on Rikki's chest, smiling a bit wider. Without even knowing, she was totally making it worse. She was just too happy to care.
