Bella stayed mostly silent as he spoke. The only sound, really, was the soft swish of her tail as it flicked behind her. Pursing her lips just slightly, she reached up, taking a piece of one of the interlocking sushi hearts and popping it in her mouth. She chewed thoughtfully, savoring the freshness of it, before swallowing and taking a sip of her own water.
She smiled and couldn't help a small laugh at his comment on the weather. Nodding, she set her glass back down. "That's true," she paused, giving another smile as someone passed their table. "But... I hope I'm not being too forward or anything, but there's this whole other little strip of restaurants and things like that just a few miles east of this place. One of them is my favourite. They're almost right on the shoreline, and they have this option of catching your own dinner. It's really neat. Have you ever been there?"
She knew she was probably talking too much, but staying so awkwardly silent was killing her. She usually made friends rather easily, but he was a hard nut to crack. And that made her nervous, because only people with something on their minds--something that was usually bad--stayed so quiet and withdrawn. Maybe that wasn't the case with him, though.
