The weight of his head on her own was a surprise, but certainly not unwelcome, though she did have to wonder if he found it a little uncomfortable, leaning down so far.. Letting his hold draw her body against hi far larger frame, she enjoyed the fluffy warmth of his fur and nestled close, a soft smile still curling her muzzle as she brushed her sandy pad over the glass at her throat.
No one had ever given her anything before, and she was deeply touched by the gift, and his obvious thoughtfulness in creating something she could use every day.
Pricking her ears she looked up at him, resting her cheek against his thick mane, enjoying the ability to do so with him so close and seemingly, content to be there. "I guess I could let you tag along, big guy... after all you may just wander off and never come back if I'm not around to guide you." Grinning to hide the weirdly shy blush that had heated her face, she turned her head into his solid bulk, almost... hiding. Though she told herself it was just because he smelt so damn good.. kind of warm and musty and.. homely.
Closing her eyes she really hoped he couldn't hear the pounding of her heart as it tried its best to leap from her chest. Hoping she hadn't heard him wrong and that he did really want to spend time with hr.. maybe even.. most of his time with her...

Holding her close to his chest the big male smiled inwardly, listening to her breathing and the beat of her heart. He could tell she as nervous, as he was, he hadn't been this nervous since his final battle to gain his place in the firekin. He rubles a happy growling sound hoping to set her mind at ease and it felt, it felt like a noise he needed to make to express his happiness at that moment.
The big male chuckled a rumbling laughter echoing through his chest. "I'll be careful not to leave your sight." He smiles a light smile and tilts her head so he could look in to her eyes, his own blue eyes smiling. "Stay with me forever shorty and i'll make sure you don't get buried in the sand." He smiles hopefully, he didn't usually put his heart out on his sleeve, but for the smokey red lioness he was willing to take a chance.

With his paw about her so firmly, she let herself relax against him. For the first time she felt safe instead of crowded, being so close to another lion. Letting her own rumbling purr vibrate in her chest, she tucked her head under his chin, ears back in a relaxed pose and eyes half closed.
"I think I can manage to put up with you that long." She replied, though her voice was soft and warm, a touch of nervous excitement in her tone that hid under the teasing but truly affectionate words. Smiling softly, fairly positive that even with her red pelt, her blush was obvious, she stretched her neck up to nuzzle against him shyly.

The big male chuckled happily and closed his eyes as he held on tightly, though not roughly, to the new female in his life. It was a strange feeling to him to care abou someone other than his family but he decided there and then that she was his family now and he would protect her as he protected his female siblings.
"I don't think you have much choice shorty I am here with you, forever." He smiles inwardly and lets a light sigh echo from his ches, a happy, pleased sound which for him sealed their time together, they would, from that moment forth, be a part of each others lives, guaranteed.
