Fresh off the Farm
It had been a long time coming, this trip, her departure. Ever since the change, when she found the star, Meadow didn’t feel like she fit in. She was no longer just a simple miltank. When she had first transformed, she had taken on a role to help around the farm; she helped gather the milk from the normal, non humanoid miltanks. She had felt so out of place then. As far as she knew, what had happened to her was unique. She didn’t know of any other pokemon that had transformed, at that point, she had never even heard of one. She did live in a small farming village though; it didn’t have much contact with the outside world
Recently, though, several things had happened that had given her the desire to leave, to find some niche in the world for herself. The first was the change. Not long ago, she transformed from a more child like humanoid form to a form that seemed closer to that of a teenager. With this change, she developed wanderlust; the world was so much bigger then her farm and she wanted to see it. Despite that desire, though, there wasn’t enough to push her out the door. Soon after her transformation, though, she began to hear rumors in town. She heard that stories of pokemon, pokemon that lives far from her village, that had also transformed, much like she had. She needed to see this for herself. She needed to know if it was true, if there were others like her. She wanted to not just believe she wasn’t alone in the world, but to know it.
She had been saving most of her money since the initial transformation; she never bothered to acquire many material possessions, other then some clothing. Still, it wasn’t quiet enough. After deciding to go, she stayed on for a few more months, saving everything that she could. The day she bought that train ticket, she was incredibly nervous. Nervous, but determined. She had never been away from home before, but she knew it was her time. It was time for her to see what was beyond her farm, what the rest of the world had to offer. She also wanted to make some real friends. The people of her village, they didn’t mistreat her, they were nice enough, but they never really accepted her. She was an oddity. Everywhere she went, she stood out; she was different. She hoped that not only would she find others like her, pokemon that had been transformed, but that she might have some friends amongst them, perhaps some that she could live with. She wanted a real family, not one like the one she had come from.
The train ride was exciting; she had never been on anything like it before. She also was more then a bit nervous when she saw the mountain approaching, She knew that the train passed through a tunnel, but the thought of being underneath a mountain, even if it was for only a moment, was scary. As she passed through the tunnel, to the other side, she gasped. Her first view of the world on the other side of the mountain was exciting. It was like a whole new world had opened up for her.

A Trip to the Meadow
My feet are so sore. Meadow had been walking for what felt like days. This was actually a pretty accurate feeling; she had been walking for days. She did, of course, take breaks to sleep and eat, but, overall, she had spent the better part of a week walking. It was very tiring, she couldn’t help but have second doubts about not accepting the train ticket, but still, she had no idea where she was headed, and it had seemed pointless to take a train, when she had no destination in mind. Despite the occasional second doubt, she didn’t regret it. She had been in no hurry, and, by walking, she was able to see so much more.
Until she had embarked on her journey, she had only known the farm. It was nice there, really, she still loved the farm. There was so much more out there, though. There were cities, forests, mountains, rivers, and oh so much more. It was so much to take in and she was enjoying every bit of it. Maybe, one day, she would live on a farm again, but, if that ever happened, she would have to get out, to see more. As much as she loved the farm she grew up on, after seeing what else was out there, a farm wouldn’t be able to contain her, it wouldn’t be enough.
With a sigh, she sat down upon a large rock; it was time for a snack. Opening her pack, she pulled out and carefully unwrapped a large block of cheese. Closing her eyes, she nibbled on its edges, content and enjoying the quiet sounds of nature. At least she was enjoying the quiet until it was interrupted by a loud sound; it sounded like someone was crying out in pain. Concerned, she quickly stood and headed towards the sounds source.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Wait up Lilly!” Honey exclaimed, as she chased after her Lilligant friend. She was still a bit unsure on her feet; this new body was so different than what she was used to. She never even had proper limbs before. At least she could see now, not like when she had first changed. Apparently she had needed glasses, and luckily Celes had taken her to get some. Still, the glasses might have taken care of that problem, but there wasn’t anything that could make her steady on her feet. Well, there wasn’t anything, other than practice.
“You can keep up Honey; I know you can do it!” Lilly replied, twisting her head back to look at her friend. Despite being the more reluctant of the two to change, she had adapted to her new body almost instantly. Though, it wasn’t all that different. Unlike a Combee, a Lilligant had arm-like petals as well as makeshift feet. Really, as far as Pokemon go, she was already rather human like.
Had Lilly had any idea what would happen next, she would have likely slowed down, so that Honey wouldn’t have felt the need to move so quickly to keep up. Unfortunately, Lilly was Grass type, not Psychic type and was thus caught completely off guard.
Flailingly frantic to keep up with her fleet friend, despite her limb’s refusal to facilitate forward flow in a felicitous manner, Honey failed to feel the flexure of the fell, and, after foundering, she fell. After a moment of stunned silence, she cried out in pain. The little Combee was hurt! In a panic, Lilly stopped abruptly in her tracks, nearly falling over herself, and quickly spun and ran back to her friend. As she reached the Combee, Honey had already sat up. Her injuries weren’t severe, no broken bones or anything, but, her right knee, it was skinned!
“Are you alright?!” Lilly asked, concerned for her friend.
“I…I…my knee…..it hurts!” Honey cried out, tears dripping out from her eyes.
“I…um….” Lilly began, and she bent in close to examine the wound, and having no idea, in the slightest, what to do. She was worried, home and Lexi and Sasha were hours away! It would take ages to get help!
So distracted were the two girls, that they didn’t notice the arrival of a third individual. “Um, is everything alright?” Meadow asked, as she approached. It was obvious, due to the tears, that something was wrong, but she had no idea what to say. Meadow wasn’t exactly used to talking with people off of her farm.
“It’s Honey,” Lilly let out, her voice in a panic, “It’s her knee! Something is wrong with her knee!”
“My knee,” Honey repeated, “It hurts!”
“Well,” Meadow replied, “Let me take a look.” She hoped it wasn’t too serious, she didn’t know much beyond basic first aid. Hopefully that would be enough. After Lilly stepped aside, to make room for her, Meadow began her examination. The knee was skinned, but it didn’t look serious. Still, she had to be certain before moving the girl. First she touched the girl’s feet and asked if that hurt. When Honey replied no, she worked her way up, to the legs, and the arms, and the spine, neck, and head. Nothing else seemed to be injured, which was lucky, since the Combee had already moved to a seated position, before her arrival. By the end of the examination, Honey had calmed, and while tears were still present on her face, they had stopped flowing.
“It looks like your knee has been skinned, “Meadow began, “but luckily, there doesn’t seem to be anything else wrong with you.” Taking two bottles out of her pack, she held one out to Honey. “Drink this, its milk, It will help. While you drink that, I will clean up your knee, and put some dressing on it, and then you should just about be as good as new!”
“Ok,” Honey answered sheepishly before opening the bottle and drinking some milk. It was tasty; it actually did make her feel better. She didn’t even notice Meadow pouring the water on and then covering it with a scrap of clean cloth.
“There, all better, well at least it will be in a couple days, but still, it should be fine for now, just keep it clean,” Meadow explained, smiling at the Combee girl.
“Thank you,” Honey replied, smiling up at the Miltank.
“Thank you for helping Honey!” Lilly exclaimed, jumping up and hugging the Miltank.
“It was my pleasure,” Meadow stated, “Oh, I’m Meadow. It is also a pleasure to meet the two of you. I hadn’t actually met any Pokemon that have changed, like me, before. It is nice to see others.”
“Really? You haven’t?” Lilly exclaimed, “They are all over the place! Oh, and I am Lilly and this is Honey…though I think I mentioned that….”
Laughing, Meadow replied, “Oh, they are? I had no idea. Well it’s nice to meet you two. Um, how far do you have to go? It could still be a little sore.”
“Um,” Honey stated, “it took use a few hours to get here, walking normally.”
“Well, how about this, I will help you two get home?”
“Really? Thanks!” Honey happily replied, before adding, “But don’t you need to get home too?”
“Well, I don’t really have a home, just now; I am currently looking for one.”
“You could stay with us!” the two girls exclaimed in unision.
Laughing, Meadow replied, “Well, let’s get you home first, then we will see about possibly staying.” She didn’t want to say yes, not yet. The girls likely lived with someone, they should have a say in if she stayed or not. Living amongst her kind, though, it did seem like a nice idea. Well, with a few hours of walking ahead of them, she would have plenty of time to find out. Maybe it could work?

Move Solo - Heal Bell
“Clear!” a nurse yelled just before she activated a defibrillator. From outside the room, Meadow watched through the large window. She wanted to be a nurse, but she didn’t know if she would ever be able to do that. To hold someone’s life in her hands…it was a scary thought. She wasn’t sure if she would ever be ready for something like that. For now, though, she was content to volunteer. She was an “advanced volunteer”; this basically meant she was an orderly.
Turning away from the window, she decided that she shouldn’t dally any longer; she had a job to do. A patient was due to go in for surgery; it sounded serious, though she didn’t actually know what the procedure was. Still, she was asked to shave part of his head. Head surgery…. that always sounds serious.
When she found herself distracted by the defibrillation, she was on her way to pick up some sterilized clippers. The patient, apparently, had a lot of hair on his head, and she needed to remove it, so that the surgeons could get to it.
One reason why she had doubts about one day becoming a nurse was that, well, she didn’t want to know why the patient needed his head shaved. She didn’t want to know that they would be poking around in his head. The thought of it both worried her and made her queasy. She was worried that she wouldn’t be able to handle it. What if a patient’s life was on the line and she just couldn’t handle it. What if she feinted or froze up or ran away in a panic, when someone’s life was on the line. She didn’t know if she would be able to handle it. She wasn’t sure if any amount of training would be enough.
Suddenly feeling doubt, Meadow continued on and retrieved the sterile clippers from where they were stored in storage. After retrieving them, she slowly made her way back. The route to the patient would take her near the emergency room, not through it, but near it.
As she passed by, she heard a loud commotion. She couldn’t help but peak in, she had to know what had happened. The doctors and nurses seemed at a loss for what to do. Apparently a patient had just been wheeled in that had been poisoned. They knew what had poisoned him, but, it was from something that was never seen in the area; they had no anti-venom. From what she could hear, it sounded like they had given up on saving him; they were just going to make him comfortable, till the end.
Meadow felt a queasiness come over her; the thought of being unable to help, of just letting him die. Suddenly, she had an idea; she had no idea if it would work, but she had to try! She had been practicing the move heal bell, in her spare time. She had yet to get it right, but if she could… it was supposed to cure poison, among other things. It was a pokemon move, though, normally only used on pokemon. She was humanoid though… maybe if she used it, maybe it could work. Whether it did or didn’t, she had to try.
She rushed through the emergency room, barely dodging a doctor and two nurses as she went. One of them stated, “You aren’t supposed to be in here!” She ignored him. As she reached the dying man, she closed her eyes and concentrated. “Heal Bell!” she proclaimed, unleashing the energy into the man.
At first, nothing happened. Meadow began to worry. What have I done? Just then, though, as a nurse was about to pull her away, the man coughed and opened his eyes. “What happened?” he mumbled, regaining consciousness. Seeing this, Meadow smiled and began to cry.

Move Solo - Zen Headbutt
Meadow strolled through the market, while a smile on her face. The grin had been plastered there for days. Ever since she had saved that patients life. Not only had she saved a man’s life, but she hadn’t been punished for running through the emergency room, when she wasn’t even allowed in there. Not only was she not punished, but the head nurse had offered to write her a letter of recommendation to help her get into a nursing program! She was so excited. It was a dream come true. Also, most importantly, she no longer had any doubts. She had come across a problem and she had solved it. She didn’t hesitate at all. She had never felt this confidence in her life. Oh, and this week, she was given double allowance, hence her visit to the market. Her savings in hand, nothing could damper her spirit.
Meadow spent a good looking at various stalls. There are so many amazing things here! At one stall, she found an antique honey jar. She bought it without hesitation. She knew a certain vespiqueen that would love it. At another stall, she found a pair of glasses that had dangly eyes attached. Without hesitating, she bought them for Sasha; she knew that she would get a kick out of them. At a different stall, she saw the cutest tiara. She was certain that Lilly would love it; she bought it without hesitating. Inside a stall that seemed devoted to books, she found an old journal, that looked like it was from the 1800s. Without hesitating, she bought it for Cascade. She…she had no idea what to buy Myrrh, but she did see an adorable pepper shaker. Without hesitating, she bought it to give to Myrrh to give to Margarita.
Finally, she made her way to a stall devoted to jewelry. So much of it was expensive; even with her savings she couldn’t afford most of it. She did, however, see an adorable necklace that she could afford. She thought it would be the perfect gift for Lexi. She picked it up and looked at it closely. It was in perfect condition. As she made her way to the checkout, a man ran past her, pushing her aside as he went. She stumbled backwards a step, but remained standing. She was about to say something, when he pulled out a gun and yelled at the owner to give him all of her money. Meadow tried to remain calm. If the owner did as he asked, he would just leave. No one would be hurt. She kept telling herself that as the owner dumped all of the cash in a bag. One of the other patrons, stumbled back slightly in shock. It wasn’t an aggressive act; it was obvious that he was panicked. Not caring of the intent, the gunman shot him. It wasn’t a mortal wound; Meadow knew enough medicine to see that, but she also realized that this changed things. No one in here was safe. The man wouldn’t just leave without hurting anyone. It was clear to her, he didn’t care. Meadow thought back to her time with Sasha, how the other girl would try and train with her, but she never really tried. She didn’t like violence. This time, though, it was different. People’s lives were at risk. Without hesitation, she charged the gunmen and unleashed a zen headbutt dead center on his back. He went flying forward and hit his head against the back wall. The gun went flying and he was knocked unconscious.
Meadow hadn’t hesitated; she had done what she felt she needed to do, what she had felt was right, but, as police arrived at the scene, she sat down on the ground and cried.
