[ Was invited by Ice.. hope you don't mind? ]

Ulmuka had been struggling with the memories of the Scarentines Dance. His struggle was mostly a mental one, trying to work out just what had happened. His fancy suit had ended up shredded and he'd been burning hot.. there was dancing.. and anger and... love? He couldn't be sure. They were foreign urges that he'd only been artificially introduced to.

While the strix had been creeping about on campus he'd spotted Edel. Still unsure of how to act he'd shifted into owl form and now was stalking her from above. The giant owl was a bit obvious in the sparse branches of the dead tree, but it didn't stop him from doing it anyway.

He was curious about the small shadow. Was it a pet? Was it food? He hopped sideways on the branch, shimmying closer and attempting to listen in a bit more. His hearing was keen and so he easily listened in on their conversation.

Was the branch he was on bending slightly under his weight? Was there a cracking noise?

Despite the barrage of questions, the 'minipet', instead of giving the usual hushed "we don't talk about this here" lecture, simply obliged. < Horsemen and Hunters are connected with Halloween, it is as simple as that. > It stopped moving for a second. < It is rather obvious isn't it? They are all fighting for resources. What is something that Halloween, the Four Clans, and the Hunters all require in order to sustain themselves? >

Perhaps it was odd for Roch and Edel to trust this creature, though it seemed even odder that the creature seemed to anticipate these questions, registering no level of surprise.

Roch glanced up at the creaking branches, a slight frown on his face as he saw the massive owl. He'd seen that guy before at the lake, right? But... he was pretty sure he was a student. Just in case, though, he glanced at Edel, then pointedly looked up at the owl before turning back to their "new teacher" pal.

"FEAR?" he asked. "Cuz that's pretty much ALL we got here, right?" Everything was made up of FEAR-- "But why do the hunters need that? Or am I wrong and it's somethin' else?" He frowned, trying to figure that out.

FEAR, the answer was immediate.

Edel was too, distracted by the creaking noises and glanced up at the branches where a massive owl that could only be Muka was perched upon. Nodding at Roch, the ghoul glanced back up at the strix again and managed a rather squeaky “Hello Muka.” Edel wondered how long he had been up there, or if he remembered what had happened at the dance, but she beckoned for him to come down to join them anyway.

The frost demon continued to look at the creature curiously, rather intrigued and taken aback that it was answering their questions so easily. The ghoul ran its words over again and then -

By resources ....” her tone changed and she began to look visibly worried, “Would you mean us?

This was a lot scarier than she had expected.

Muka blinked as the branch sagged. He lifted a foot to wave at Edel when there was a sharp crack. The branch heaved the owl came tumbling down. In mid-air he shifted with a cracking of joints and hit the ground as a pile of lanky limbs. With a giggled he brushed himself off and shuffled over to sit with them. Thankfully the branch didn't fall on them, and instead hung lamely against the trunk.

"Sorry.." He snickered, but them attempted to hush. Roch, a boil he barely knew, and his good friend Edel seemed to be asking enough questions for all of them. He was very, very interested in their informative little guest though.

Almost idly he spoke aloud. "Hunters want to make us weapons, yes? And at Amityville we are the next generation of Halloween... and the Horsemen... what are we to them? A potential army or just something to throw in front of enemies?" He screech-giggled. Strangely insightful but the laughing seemed inappropriate.

<You are correct in one aspect. > Considering that the voice was telepathic, it really, could have been coming from anywhere, and not just the statue-still creature seated next to the students. < Confronting your uncertainties is better than hiding them. However, everyone always thinks that this story I tell is about themselves specifically. The answer is simpler than Fear, of course. >

It gave a small nod, before standing up, shifting its paws to move away. < Thank you for your time then, it has been most informative. >

"What is it, then? Power?" Roch asked, frowning as the little guy indicated he was going to leave. He'd answered more than most people were willing to, but he had still been really vague. Dammit, Roch wasn't GOOD at thinking deeply on stuff! He'd come to that conclusion a long time ago, because his thoughts tended to spiral downwards, and--

He looked to Edel, expecting her to have an idea.

Likewise, the ghoul was rather confused by the creature's cryptic messages, though they weren't quite so annoying as they was still answering their questions somehow. Simpler than Fear? Roch's expectant look was going to be disappointed, as the ghoul could not think of anything else that connected all three parties. Perhaps, just resources, simple as that. But even so ...

Eyes now onto Muka, what did the strix think?

The strix's head turned sideways as the mysterious creature turned to leave. Ulmuka wasn't much for subtlety and was often confused by cryptic messages. He began to crawl curiously towards the creature who seemed now like it was wanting to leave.

"Where are you going?" His talons cracked the withered grass under his fingers as he moved towards it. He wanted to see it better, his keen eyesight not helping in gleaning details from the shadows. "What sort of information have you gotten from us? It seems a bit unfair to give us tidbits and flee, yes?"

He made a hooting sound of dismay. What could be simpler than FEAR or bodies?
