I am glad that you like her.
My design concept is although they are born from fear of shadow and have shadow abilities, the first few members of this race have white hair and white skin. Maybe their way of acquiring a human look had something wrong.
They were teased because of their whiteness, despite of they have shadow abilities. Also, their whiteness make them being notified easily. That's why this race always wearing a hood cape and hide as much of their skins as they can. The cape is actually connected to their actual form, becoming shadow-like at the edge.
However, there are few exceptional cases that some members do not care about being teased because of their whiteness. They even don't wear cape and wear eye-catching colors clothing. They are weird in most of the eyes of the shadow void.

I'm not sure what advice you've gotten has been edited into the form yet, so I'm taking a while stab in the dark a bit here:
Is your character genderless (which I take to mean as neither gender, an 'it' like our resident Plague Doctor, Malodore) or Andryogynous (I see this as both genders, like our Siren, Israfel, who identifies Male) because it sounds like you're trying to make a character who is Androgynous, but identifies female. Please clarify this a bit!
Otherwise, I think she is sounding like an interesting race/character.

I think for the ease of RP, 'Androgynous' would work well, simply so you can use the female pronoun more easily/justifiably as the 'identified' gender. <3 So maybe 'Androgynous - Identifies Female' for Gender?

boils- There are various gender neutral characters in shop both in appearance and in actuality. What happens if she mistakes a girl for a boy, or a boy for a girl? What happens when she finds out?
you interchange Skugga and Arnyek so going through and putting her name as one in the profile rather than both helps ease reading comprehension.
making shadow beings would need to be a natural ability as it's creating a thing that can act on it's own more or less.
just pick a fear mechanic as well~!
