To be fair he'd been blind to Lark up until more recently. There were ghouls before her and he couldn't pretend otherwise and so all he could really do was nod quietly as he listened to her words certainly he could protest his point but it wouldn't help him any in the slightest and if anything it'd just upset Lark all that much more and honestly he wanted to upset her as little as possible.
"Of course," he murmured softly as he looked up at her quietly. She deserved much better than him especially if he repeated the offense. It was something he never intended to do in the first case but it wasn't something he intended to do a repeat performance of either.
He sat still for a long moment before his arms slowly rose up toward her. Please. Please. Just a small hold. A tiny one? He doesn't deserve kisses but he gets to hold her right?

Oh, Kettil.
Lark exhaled and remained where she stood for a few long moments. When she finally decided to move towards him, it was a slow shuffle. A frown tweaked her lips but it didn't reach her eyes. Moving into his arms, Lark rested her forearms on his shoulders. For a long moment, she just stared down at him, her gaze inscrutable.
"I ain't gonna kiss ya," she mumbled, the frown on her face becoming dramatically pronounced.
"Y'gonna have t'work fer them."
Wait, what.
"And Kajika... I promise t'always be honest w'ya, so long as y'make th'same promise t'me."

His arms moved to drape around her as he stared up at her face with just the smallest of smiles, "I know I have to work for them. I've been bad."
As much as it sounded as a joke and a tease he was also being completely serious with her as he said this. When she promised him to be honest he nodded once, "I'll always be honest with you, Newák'a," he murmured softly up to her eventually he gave her a small tug to get her to settle on his lap at least for a moment.
Kettil was done with the whole not holding her thing. He was cold and he wanted her to warm him up.

Lark settled into Kettil's lap with a small grunt, narrowing her eyes as she peered into his face. It felt nice to be this close to him, close enough that she could see the striations in his warm green eyes. It was good that they seemed to be setting boundaries, and honesty was one of the more important ones as far as Lark was concerned.
"I ain't got any regrets, Ket," she said quietly, "not about ...this," she gestured with a hand, moving it between them. "I jest... I hope things don't move too fast. S'important t'me."
She smoothed a finger down the bridge of his nose before tapping it against the bow of his upper lip.

Even as she narrowed her eyes at him he smiled back at her lightly. It wasn't the same careless grin he usually had but it held a bit of fondness for her to it. His arms wrapped securely around her for the time being enjoying the feel of her warmth on him, it was nice to hold her even if she wasn't entirely happy with him right now. He'd work on that.
"I don't regret it either, I really don't," he said softly. Kettil knew his actions would say otherwise but if he could do anything to prove otherwise he'd do it. "We go at whatever speed we need to. If you're ready for a new step then we'll talk 'bout it. Hm?"
As passionate as Kettil tended to be he didn't mind slowing down a bit just for someone important to him. Quietly and playfully he nipped a little at her fingertip in a gentle fashion.

Lark couldn't help but give a relieved sigh. She hadn't really been expecting him to say they'd made a mistake, that he didn't really want to be her boilfriend. He'd kissed Freya and he'd admitted to it, admitted to his mistake. Lark knew that she was jealous by nature - she'd spent the last how many weeks feeling jealous towards Freya?
If Lark wanted to keep Kettil - and she did, more than anything - she would have to temper that jealousy. He was hers. Only hers. Lark knew that he wouldn't pressure her into doing anything she didn't want to do, either. It was one of the things she adored about him.
She merely nodded, smiling softly as she tapped his nose with the finger he'd just nipped.
"Still feels so ... strange. S'like.. I been wantin' this to happen for so long, Ket. So, so long.. and now that yer mine s'like I can't believe it."

He wrinkled the nose she tapped with a small smile as his head moved to rest upon her shoulder, "I'm yours for as long as you want me, Newák'a," he murmured to her. He liked being this close to her she smelt of wonderful things at all times it was amazing how he never really noticed it before. For the most part he was pondering how he could 'earn' the right to kiss Lark again mostly because he wasn't sure he'd be able to go too long without doing so.
"It's like you're even more stuck with me than you were before," he grinned happily at this thought. Oh yes. Now she was never getting rid of him. He had no intention of repeating his past mistake.
"Hey...I know you said ...you'd go on that double date with me but...Um...Want to go on a date with just us first?" He asked quietly.

Lark's eyes widened expressively as a huge smile broke out across her face. All she could do was nod; there was a huge knot of happy clogging her throat. Lark leaned close, burying her face in his neck as she rested her head against his shoulder. Everything was going to be okay. She knew she could trust Kettil. Honesty was important, and Lark would never ask him to lie to her simply to protect her feelings.
"I'd like that," Lark whispered softly, rubbing the pad of her thumb against one of his dreds. "Can't think of nothin' I'd like more, honestly."
Then again, part of her just wished that they could stay like this forever.
"Where at?"

The tension of their earlier conversation was slowly melting away. He wouldn't betray her like that again if he could help it - this was a promise he made to himself as he just held onto her after she seemed much, much happier. All he could hope was that she wouldn't seek Freya out and punch her again because of all of this.
His head tilted to rest lightly against hers in an affectionate manner as he smiled a bit, "Anywhere at all. We can go to a nice restaurant and then maybe we can go do somethin' fun like learnin' how to rock climb or somethin' or we can go to a minipet zoo? Whatever ya want. It'll just be us."
Kettil rubbed her back lightly. She was his and he aimed to keep her, "I mean we could do this too but I don't think it counts as a date," he grinned a bit.

Lark snorted with laughter, bapping him on his nose again. He did have a point. Cuddling all day sounded right ace, but... she wanted to go out with him. She wanted to be proud of what they'd become. Not that she wasn't proud now, per se, but Lark wanted to be able to show him off. Childish, absolutely. Truthfully, though, Lark didn't care.
Because he was hers.
"Zoo sounds good," Lark looked thoughtful. "Or a picnic on the beach?" Her eyes brightened. "I know m'way 'round the Scarefari real good."

He beamed happily, "A picnic on the beach sounds wonderful and we could go everywhere in the scarefari if that is what ya want. I'd love to do anythin' with you at all. We haven't really spent much time together doing stuff...Other than talkin' or fussin' at each other."
Kettil knew most of the blame laid on him. He was being stupid and upsetting Lark without meaning to during the whole process.
"Just so long as we have fun that is all I care about," he said in a cheerful tone. He was glad that things didn't go awkward between them after his confession.

Lark plopped a small kiss right on his forehead before disentangling herself from him. She was just floating on cloud nine. It was so easy for her to disregard the little kiss that he and Freya had shared. It didn't matter. He was hers now, and she would bring the pain to anyone who even thought about getting between them.
For Lark, it was fairly cut-and-dry.
"We'll have fun," Lark grinned, humming softly to herself as she moved around the kitchen, packing up various goodies. "Ain't a doubt in m'mind." She fluttered around the kitchen with very un-Lark-like movements.
Dropping a parcel of goodies in his lap, Lark bent to kiss his forehead again, pulling back to rub her nose against his for the briefest moment.
"I got some studyin' t'do. I gotta git ridda all this food, too," she beamed down at him, eyebrows lifting. "Y'wanna stick 'round, or you got things t'do?"

His heart skipped a few happy beats when she kissed his forehead as he reluctantly let her go to get up and watched her float around the kitchen in a manner that he'd never really seen before and instead of teasing her about it or finding it funny...He saw it as cute. Kettil sat back and watched her as she moved about with a small smile, "We'll have all the fun, Lar. Just you wait."
Soon enough there were a bunch of goodies packed up on his lap and she bent to kiss his forehead again and then rubbed her nose against his. Lightly and gently his hands reached up to cup her face and his head tilted to steal a small kiss from her lips. As much as he wanted to deny himself this small pleasure he just couldn't resist just one.
Kettil pulled back a bit, "I'll stick around for a small bit and help ya study and get rid of some of the food."

Lark thwapped him semi-playfully on the shoulder when he stole that one kiss, narrowing her eyes as she moved away.
"I'unno if I can trust y'not t'do anymore of that," she was a little serious, a little playful. Her cheeks tinged a soft shade of pink, but there was no denying that she loved the feel of his hands on her cheeks, his lips against hers.
"Y'gotta behave, now, Ket. I ain't afraid t'throw y'out." Her voice was serious but her lips were turned up at the corners. Mixed signals?
Yeah, Lark was really good at those.

The thwap on the shoulder he took in stride smiling with a bit of that roguish charm as she narrowed her eyes at him and then told him she didn't know if she could trust him not to do anymore of that. His hand reached up for her hand, "Ah but you are mine now, Newák'a. I missed your kisses so I stole one, just a small one until I earn more."
He moved her hand up to his cheek and rested his cheek against hers and closed his eyes for a brief moment before he stared up at her, "From this point forward I will only be good to you," he promised quietly the roguish charm gone for the time being. Kettil then tilted his head and kissed her palm before releasing her hand.
Kettil moved to stand up his limbs stretching a bit, "Alright, Lar, how can I help ya out? Want me to quiz you about your studies or somethin'?"
