He wasn't quite used to the green flush creeping into Violet's cheeks yet, but Arthur guessed that this was one of many things that he would have to get used to as his friendship with the alien girl developed. Still, she seemed composed.
"Yeah." Arthur nodded. "But you can too, it just takes practice." He said in reply to the coolness remark. He was pleased when Violet had said that she wanted to learn from him, and when she tapped his hand he looked up at her, quickly, used to being by himself and not so close to people that would touch him. Maybe he'd been by himself for a little too long because the action, though uncommon, didn't seem unwelcome or uncomfortable. In fact, it was kinda nice...
He closed his eyes and, taking a breath, reached into the shoulder bag for another notebook. It was, of course, purple.
"C8, huh? Okay. Then take this with you." He held out the purple notebook. "I know I haven't taught you anything yet, but you can use this to write down and practice letters later." He smiled, trying to make it not come off as too aloof, which was a little difficult for him, considering all the time he spent by himself. "Learning should be a lot of fun. I'm looking forward to it."

When her touch seemed to be accepted, Violet had to chuckle sweetly. She had noticed a few of the humans around the school like to slap their hands with one another and other various forms of contact, so like anyone not use to the fact that one had to make friends first before acting like one she assumed that humans just naturally liked contact in some degree.
"Mm." she nodded slowly yet happily at his words before standing to leave.
Violet barely held back a yawn while stretching her limbs out she was growing slightly sleepy after having had so much excitement during this particular free period. The idea of sleep was wonderful and cause her to wonder in the back of her mind if, she could just go back to her dorm for a nap or even go outside and sleep in the sunshine. Would the teachers here get upset with her? Violet considered a little white lie for a second wondering if she might be able to pass off a need for more sleep.
Violet came back to reality when she heard movement then Arthur speaking again. Beady blacks focused down on the hand that was holding out a notebook to her. Her head tilted in an obvious questioning manner before her eyes found Arthur's. "...Ah..Arthur~" The coo in her tone was a pleasant one clearing meaning to thank him, reaching for the notebook she seem not to notice his bit of an aloof air. Instead as she gripped the notebook she allowed a few fingers to brush the boys in a friendly thanks, again playing off all humans must like touch. After a moment of admiring its purple color she pulled the notebook to her chest and hugged it lazily, this was one of the first things anyone had given her while here and that only meant that she would treasure it even if it wasn't really meant to be.
Not knowing a proper goodbye, Violet simply smiled to Arthur before turning and strolling out of the library, notebook to chest and heading to her next class apparently having found a new boost of energy.
