"They're adorable." Really, they were - maybe the fact that he hadn't even seen a wintersaber, much less cubs, for years probably helped.
"I wouldn't mind something to eat, really." The day had been... well, eventful. And they'd certainly come to the best place to have Adi get a taste of night elven cuisine - his aunt had always been a good cook.
A quick pet was left on the kitten's head before he gathered both his and Adrienne's bags to carry back upstairs - figuring that she probably wouldn't be detached from her new friend anytime soon.

"I am a little hungry," Adi admitted, not having realized it until food was brought up. As for being 'mauled' by cubs, she didn't seem at all frightened by the prospect, and beamed up at Elik when he took both bags.
Patting Ishura with one hand, she reached out with the other to wiggle her fingers at the one who'd initially come over to see Elik. "What are the rest of their names?"

"Alright. I'll figure out what to make while you two get sorted out then. I trust you two can sort out bed arrangements by yourselves?" Whisteria smiled teasingly, glancing over at the direction Elik had gone. She would pester him, in her own roundabout way; she had a right to, as family and all.
As to the question about the cubs. "Well, the one that was in front of Elik is named Valir, he's the only boy in the bunch, the other two over by Typala, their mother, are Tullyna and Lulan respectively."

There was a sudden, loud TONK that followed Whisteria's comment, coming from upstairs. Oh, Elik had heard that well enough, thank you.
He would need to have a... discussion with his aunt, it seemed.

Adi was content to let Elik venture upstairs for now. She was curious, but...kittens! Whisteria was going to need to check to make sure they were all there when the werewolf left, from the looks of it. She was so preoccuppied with said kitten that she almost glossed over the 'bed arrangements' comment, at least until she heard...whatever it was Elik had just done. Hit his head on something?
The werewolf giggled and flushed a little. Maybe she should talk to her...? Hnn. But not when Elik might hear! She nuzzled Ishura for a moment before finding a 'safe' question. "Is their dad anywhere?"
She wanted to see all the cats ever, please!

That was roughly the reaction she had expected from her nephew and she laughed heartily. Hopefully it had caused by been bags hitting the floor and not him hitting his head like Adi thought.
"Their father belongs to a friend of mine, Mandric, he spends a lot of his time out in Winterspring these days. I haven't seen him in some weeks, but he might come back during your visit. He usually comes back to the city for a visit once every few months." She smiled fondly at Adi, glad the girl liked the cubs.
"I should see about getting food taken care of. Have fun with the little ones. I'm sure Elik will be back down here soon." The druidess stood and headed outside first, to gather some things.

Given that Elik was rubbing his head as it came back down, well... It likely hadn't been the bags that had been dropped.
He did send a bit of a glare toward the kitchen, but left it at that - really, this was better discussed while Adi was asleep.
"They're cute, arn't they ?" Change of subject tactics - engaged ! The kitten from before was back for him in an instant, and he scooped it up like most would have done with a housecat and started stroking along it's back,

"Looks like that hurt," Adi observed with a light giggle, but didn't take up the subject of sleeping arrangements. It wasn't even bedtime yet, anyway!
"They are," she agreed, hugging 'her' cub again. "So you ride them? How long does it take them to get that big?" She gestured in mom's direction.

Whisteria was still busy outside, digging up a kimchi jar. She could hear what was going on inside somewhat, clearly Elik had come back downstairs. "Elik, can you come out here and help me with this, when you have a moment?" It wasn't a real rush, she still had a bit more to dig out before the jar could easily be lifted anyway.

"It takes, hn..." He found himself pondering. He'd never really raised wintersabers, himself, though his aunt obviously did. "About a year before you can start to train them... Then a few more months before they get big enough to ride properly without risking harming them."
The cub he was holding let out a tiny, pleased half-mew as it was flopped over and it's tummy scritched, through that was about when Whisteria called for him. "I'll be right back, okay ? Here." He handed the cub to Adi before stepping outside.
"What's up ?" He did look - and sound - a little peeved still.

Whisteria sat up, one eyebrow raised with an expression on her face somewhere between amusement and curiousness. That was certainly quicker than expected. She slipped back into Darnassian since Adi wasn't present and in case that look on Elik's face something serious. "I didn't think you'd be that quick to leave your friend. Mind hauling this inside for me?" She got to her feet and brushed her dirt covered hands on her skirt.

"Sure, I can." He did bend over to lift the jar, through he did pause after taking it out of the ground. "Just... I... Stop it, please ? I don't want Adi to get... ideas. I just..." He sighed.
"I need to talk to you once she falls asleep. There's much I need to explain." Really. "Do you know... about my mother ?"

"Why not, she seems to like you well enough?" Whisteria sighed again and shook her head. He was bullheaded as his father!
That train of thought was halted however when Elik asked about her sister-in-law. "Not really, no. What happened Elik?"

"Maybe, but... She's a god's daughter, you realize." A little intimidating, that, even if Rio wasn't the intimating kind. "It is... complicated. Everything is complicated."
That, and when she became aoide, she would be immortal... if she was not, already. And he certainly was not that, anymore.
"Illisia..." He sighed. "Illisia's gone, as good as dead. Taken by the dragon she bore. She was... much more than the prophet she might have explained you to be. You know how she was... " Getting straight explainations out of Illisia, when she was not keen on giving them ? Yeah, Elik wasn't surprised that Whisteria had not known. "And I don't know... What to do, anymore. Should I say there, with the gods, or here ? What do I do with myself now ? I'll... try to make this make sense, I promise, but..."
It didn't much make sense to begin with.

No, she hadn't known that, but still.. "If you care Elik, at least tell her. Then you aren't left wondering 'what if' the rest of your life." She reached out and rested a comforting hand on his shoulder.
Silver eyes eyes went wide when he explained about Illisia. "Dead?" It was a good thing she wasn't holding the kimchi jar. She probably would've dropped it then. Her grip on Elik's shoulder tightened slightly. She wanted to apologize, to console him...to do something. "We'll find a way, to make sense of it all, you and I." She pulled him close, offering an awkward hug from the side. "You'll find your place and I'll be right there with you, if you can stand me for that long." She smiled sadly and let him go after a few long moments.
"Come on, lets get inside. Before Adi stops fussing over the cubs to wonder what's keeping us."
