Emma arrived as prepared as she could be, a pack slung over her shoulder. The North Pole was going to be darn cold, and there was no way she was going to slog through snow and permafrost in a pair of jeans. She pulled her jacket closer around herself and sighed.
<< Are you excited? >>
Definitely.
It was somewhat reassuring to know that Zo could hear her without speaking aloud. Now was the matter of finding someone to stick by. The only person she recognized was that 'Rep', and he wasn't the safest, she thought.Quote: Sign in, sit down, shut up.Death:Life:Mist: Dillon Avery Sydney Lowe Mallaidh "Molly" Finn

Cass had taken some time the night before to double check her grab-bag, get some extra supplies in it, and then had prepared another one for the sake of Marcus's room. She spent enough time in there that it wasn't entirely unlikely she'd be bolting from there anytime in the future. She had also located a jacket that had sleeves to go in, rather than her sleeveless fare, rather bundled up for the occasion.
But, the file had said cold, so she was ready for cold, her gloves shoved into her pockets for the time being to keep the girl from overheating herself before they were even out of the base.
Are you ready, Cassandra? You got enough sleep and you did eat before you came. Nicodemus was already fussing over his wielder, Cass just smiling as the trainees filed into the room and started to sign in. She could already count a handful of Mists. Wow, they really were starting to get numbers. That excited her.
"Looks like we're getting a lot of new blood this time, Aria." Cass commented, seeming rather pleased by this development. They'd been pretty small in the trainee numbers for a while, so she hoped at least some of these guys would be sticking around for the long haul.

One of the Intermediate trainees already dressed in his gear, Gale stood at the front of the classroom with Aria, a clipboard in hand (as usual) as he rifled through a large canvas back that was leaning against the wall. He was murmuring quietly to himself, but they were not in any sort of pattern, and might have seemed nonsensical to anyone who was within hearing range. Gale, however, knew quite well what he meant (it was like his own handwriting, which he still didn't think was that bad), and he straightened after a moment, lowering the clipboard and tossing it lightly onto the desk at the front of the room.
"Got everything I need, the," he muttered to himself.
Jinhai made a soft noise of approval in his head, and then murmured << There's Saya. >>. Gale lifted his eyes, catching the hunter as she walked into the room. He gave her a small nod, lifting his hand in greeting, and was glad to see she had gotten his text, the young woman dressed in a fur lined cloak. Molly was there as well - Gale still felt a bit of redness touch his cheeks (he owed her big time for when she had patched him up), but he nodded to her as well, even giving her a small, slight smile before turning back to the rest of the intermediates, glancing around for Maddie.
"Looks like we're in for an interesting time..."

She had just stared at the message for a good solid five minutes with Vashi rambling in her mind. Mostly because she didn't know exactly where the room was she was supposed to go. Infinity had a fairly good idea of where to start...maybe. Sort of. No wait she did!
:: Will you just get your butt moving, precious? ::
Good enough for her. And thankfully, she'd been right on her guess and it didn't take her long to find the correct room. And it only took the first try! She entered quietly and sat down, regarding the woman that told them all to sit down and shut up. :: Why do I get the feeling this should be very...interesting? :: She mused to Vashi, who snickered in response. And what the hell was with that gear?Quote: Sign in, sit down, shut up.Death:Life:Mist: Dillon Avery Sydney Lowe Mallaidh "Molly" Finn

Molly had what we called, a delayed reaction. Oh! There was someone else she was familiar with! Gale’s small smile did not go unnoticed, and the young woman gave the Intermediate trainee an energetic wave and a wide smile from her seat. She also patted some of her curls, and then pointed at him, mouthing ‘I really like your hair!’ She was also incredibly happy to see he was doing well after she had found him in less then good shape in the dorms that one day.

((Guys I gotta take this really slow so uh.. definitely quote me if you're posting something @ me even if it might be very vague.))Mercedes had received the text from Candace a day prior to the mission. A mission already? It had hardly been a week! After finding out they were both mists together, miss Chenoweth felt a lot more secure about her role and the faction in which she was granted. Something about the low ratio of men did bum her out a little bit. Assuming that her fellow mist knew what the weather was like outside the facilities this week, Mercedes was not hesitant to sport her winter clothing and the nicest pair of waterproof boots she had. She really only had two pairs but one without protective sealant. (and perhaps her finer pair.) Today Mercedes would learn that her phone was going to be her greatest resource when trying to keep up with assignments and such at Deus. What was wrong with email? Did they just not work on the team-oriented pipeline? Why couldn't they get real time updates, feeds, and- Oh right... this wasn't a production-based company. Hadjoc, wake up. If you're not awake.. or... uh.. Mercedes thought to herself. Well more towards her weapon. Damn this was hard. Candace's advice: here's not the place to use your bike talking to your weapon was best done in your head. Though when she was in her room or outside the presence of others Mercedes still preferred to talk to Hadjoc out loud. Creature or not, it was much more natural to her to speak to it rather than let it hear any indirect thoughts. Tepinim ekil kool dna llems uoy, yadot no tup uoy did tahw erutaerc gniknits... No response from Mercedes. Instead she put the unsummoned feather in her hair where she could at least see it from her peripherals. She really preferred Hadjoc this way. As a weapon he resembled something much more ugly and foul and reminded her too much of what he really looked like. I sure hope I'm not running late, I don't want to- "Shoot!!" She whispered loudly to herself upon reaching Aria's classroom which had filled up significantly already. Ashamed of not being at LEAST the second one in, Mercedes went up to the board and put her name down then turned to observe who all was there. Some of them were not from the group she'd waken up with. Did they wake people up every day? Mercedes could feel Hadjoc humming by her ear energetically. He really wanted to return to weapon form as a means of showing off but his master remained diligent and avoiding of such a thing. No way would she let her weapon show out on the first day of 'class' here at Deus. Quote: Sign in, sit down, shut up.Death:Life:Mist: Dillon Avery Sydney Lowe Mallaidh "Molly" Finn Mercedes Chenoweth

Madison was... hot. And not necessarily in the appearance sort of way. The quartermaster had let her take a fur-lined Death coat with a fluffy hood and gloves and thermal leggings, and the intermediate trainee was now trying hard not to die of heat exposure prior to the mission ever beginning. Her cheeks were pink, but it could have been makeup. Probably. "Yeah, looks like it... I wonder when we're gonna head out?" she asked, trying to unobtrusively fan herself with her folded gloves. Man, there were a ton of little Hunters she didn't know yet. So much for the days when the Strays were the only ones...

Clerise was relatively surprised to receive a text from Whiny, of all people. But it had come in with a message that was relatively clear: Before Hey, E, mission coming up. Going to the North Pole. No, not shitting you, promise! Dress warm. Seriously. WAAAAARM. FURRRRR. Thermal stuff. She recalled that the guy was in Mist, so maybe that explained why he was all up in here division. She didn't take the pint sized squeaker (that had, in fact, served her in a spar) to be a liar, so she stomped down to the Quartermaster and demanded all of the warm clothes. All of them. She only had the one duffel bag, as it was all she owned for luggage carrying, but in it was a full stock of warm things. She'd bribed an older hunter that wasn't going for their Swedish firesteel, but that was her only extra item beyond clothes and her weapon. The redhead herself was in the parka she'd brought, snow-boots and some of the warm clothes given to her by the Quartermaster-- the more she wore, the more space she had in her luggage. Without fanfare, Clerise slid into the room and signed the sheet, eerily unfamiliar with half the names on the list. In fact, the only name she recognized was Willy's, which made her curl her lip in abject disgust. It was weird, to be more familiar with all the older hunters instead of the ones she'd come into Deus with. She took a seat, propping her boot-clad feet on the table, looking around for any coats that had the traditional branches on them, only seeing one girl, who looked rather unfamiliar. {[ You can survive being alone for a few minutes, you worthless bint. ]}"Shut up, Captain," she said in a sing song tune under her breath, lips pursed. Christ, Clerise hated the cold. This was gonna suck balls. Quote: Sign in, sit down, shut up.Death:Life: Sasha Belrose Clerise Wilson

Making sure her fellow hunters got their breakfast. Molly as all over it like a fly on potato salad. Upon sighting a familiar young woman from Twitter who happened to miss out on the epic benefits of breakfast, she reached into her bag, and as promised, pulling out a breakfast bar. She then leaned over in her seat, and placed it on Clerise’s desk, sliding it towards the Lifer. Molly then smiled and waved, before sitting up straight in her seat once more.

"As stated," Clerise said with a wolfish grin as she snatched at the breakfast bar with greedy hands, "you are my new favorite. Thanks, girly." Opening it shortly after, she gleefully chomped away. It was gross, as most food in bar form was, but it was sustenance. The redhead had a feeling she'd need the energy later. Clerise took a look at the girl's coat, noting the clouds. Mist, huh. There were a lot of them. {[ They ]} Balthazar says with a tired tone, somehow managing to be arrogant despite it, {[ are versatile. Unlike someone. ]}

<> Right, help me keep track of the things I need.
Dillon burst into his room and threw open the wardrobe, throwing on anything and everything he could get his hands on (and subsequently, into). By then, the mist trainee had already gotten the idea that they were going somewhere really cold. The arctic probably, god knows.
<> Inez read off dryly as Dillon kicked off his boots and put on the right set, hopping around the room frantically.
<> The trainee basically slung on the bag that was given to him containing assorted if not minimal supplies, stuffing in a muesli bar or two.
<> Each syllable was said with a staccato. Dillon paused for a moment. Where?
<<...Quartermaster I suppose.>> FFFFFFFFFFFF
And it was a mad dash down to the equipment room again. By then he was sure that he was going to be late.
What did happen though was a skid through the corridor and enter a very frazzled looking trainee who plonked himself back down at the table beside Ami, panting.

Michael was up, packed and ready well in time thanks to the text from Ariane the previous evening. Though, 'ready' was a relative term when one didn’t actually have gear for a trip to the north pole.Seriously. What was with that? Where they going to get proper snow gear when they all met up or where they expected to suck up the frost bite? Because for some reason he didn’t think layering was going to help against the artic, especially when he couldn’t wear too many gloves without making it impossible to wield Nucha. The state of the room when he arrived did not assure him that it was going to be the former case. Wondering if it was too late to back and receiving a hell yes from Nucha he signed his name down before following the rest of the instructions on the sheet by finding a seat and shutting up. Not that he'd been talking to anyone anyway. Quote: Sign in, sit down, shut up.Death:Life: Sasha Belrose Clerise Wilson

Rep watched people file into the room one by one, hardly recognizing anyone for a while, spotting some of the people who'd been at his initial briefing, but most of them were women so didn't actually count for much in his mind. He was amused and somewhat pleased he'd managed to piss off influential people rather than just people on his level, any attention was good attention as far as he was concerned. It wasn't long before he /did/ recognize someone though, spotting Rin as she came in and made a rather deliberate attempt to ignore him, he let her for the time being, rather irritated that she hadn't greeted him, he WAS her neighbor after all. He rectified this by fishing in his pocket for a pack of mints he'd brought with him (mints to the arctic? Why not?), taking one out and lobbing it at her. He figured that ought to get her attention.
He smirked as Molly wandered in and if he managed to catch her gaze gave her a wink. Clerise too was deemed worthy of his attention as he purred. "Hello ginger~" Unconcerned whether she acknowledged him or not.
One thing he hadn't thought to have though was breakfast, so the passing around of breakfast bar contraband was duly noted, pity he hadn't thought of someone to mooch s**t off of.

Ariane was seated near the back and actually had her hunter coat on instead of how it usually was - tied around her waist. She was also dressed really warmly, so much so that she was perspiring in her seat, beads of sweat clinging to her face and hair; she might also be sweating under her layers of clothing, although she had her poker face on.
All this suffering will be worth it later. Hopefully.
There was a thick jacket draped over her lap, and a pair of goggles on her head; the strap on it was actually squeezing her head uncomfortably, but the goggles were apparently needed to stop her from going blind or something, and protect her eyes from strong winds. Everything happened so fast that she didn't have enough time to read up on expeditions to the North Pole.
'Not that you'll be feeling it as much as me though. You're just there to sight see.'

Bix had followed Cass by a few minutes. He'd heard her up and shuffling around and so took it as his cue to put a move on. He usually dressed warm anyway, but he dug out his leather coat, boots and gloves. All were lined in fluffy white fur and beaten in to be the perfect flexibility for him. His gloves were fingerless but had a flip down mitten cover (for when he wasn't plucking at his bow). When he saw Gale's hair he let out a looooooow whistle and, of course, ruffled it. "Nice. You think I should do mine?" He twirled his braid a bit in his hand. Finally casting a glance around the room he didn't recognize most of them. Some faces were familiar from the intra-web thinger but he couldn't say he knew them. Molly got a special grin and wave though. As per instructions he kept mostly quiet. As quiet as he could be.
