Oh, if only poor Leo knew. Flirting was universal. Not that Rio didn't flirt with nearly anyone he met, as far as Echo knew.
She listened, clearly interested - and smiled. "Why, thank you. I quite like this form." It was probably short for some, and she certainly could have been taller, if she wanted it. But she saw no reason, at least not here. She was perfectly comfortable with her own skin.

Rio laughed fondly at Leo's response. It was adorable, really, enough so that he almost kissed him. It was certainly very tempting. Instead, he merely translated, She says thank you.
"I hear one of your sons has grown." His smile was both sympathetic and bright. "From the sound it, it's a good thing Adi is preoccuppied, or he might have found himself with an admirer." Of course, he might still...Rio wasn't quite certain at this point whether or not Adi's affections would be reserved for one, or if she might take a little more after him. He doubted she knew, either.
To keep Leo in the loop, he provided, Echo is wed to Nergal, the God of the Underworld, and they have three children.

He nodded to Echo, physical signs of embarrassment subsiding somewhat. Until Rio laughed that is and it caused him to get a bit flustered again. He wasn't accustomed to being teased in such a way in front of others. Being 'alone' in a public place and doing such things was a different matter entirely. Something he would have to get used to, he supposed.
When Love mentioned that Echo was wed to Underworld however, that got his attention. Eisheth and Kushiel...that's an interesting match. Eiseth was the closest to a true deity of music that Terre D'Ange had; granted she had also gifted D'Angeline's with knowledge of stories and the healing arts. So the name might ring a distant bell for Echo.

"That is true." She said, smiling. "It was... surprising. I expected Sotiris to be the first..." Music sounded just the slightest bit melancholic. "In a way I did see it coming... I just did not expect it to be so... soon." In reality she wasn't sure how to deal with it. Akakios wanted, and needed more space, while her reflex was to dote on and protect her youngest just like she always had.
The name did seem to catch Echo's attention, but she did not seem to quite identify it for what it was.

Isn't it? Rio agreed. He is...well. The most intimidating god I have met. Aside from Harmodius when he was Destruction, anyway. Not that Love was one to be truly intimidated - wary, perhaps, but he lacked no confidence in the presence of the other gods, no matter how stern some of them might be.
He laid a hand on Echo's shoulder with a sympathetic smile. "I'm familiar with the feeling, to some degree. Adi's just gone off on an adventure."

Balance, of a sort anyway.
Leo closed his eyes, thinking of the statues of Kushiel and he shivered involuntarily. The stern bronze mask, holding a rod and flail. He respected the god, but he didn't revere that one as some did. Particularly those Servants who learned to crave the kiss of the lash. It puzzled him how some could find pleasure in such a thing, but to each his own. Each served Naamah, and Kushiel, in the ways they liked best.

"Oh..." Yeah, the thought of Kios going far away, without her... But then, hadn't she done the same, when they'd been young ? Could she really refuse him without being an hypocrite ? She sighed. "I hope that day will not come soon, on my part... It is selfish, perhaps." She admitted.
But... No. If she wanted her son to grow, be in in personality, in power and in influence... she could not cage him. He had to walk his own steps, and make his own mistakes.
She just wasn't sure if she was ready to accept this, yet.

A case of opposites attract, I suppose, although it would be a lie to say I'm not a little jealous. That probably didn't need much explanation; Echo was, after all, absolutely gorgeous. Rio noted the slight shiver and wondered at what had caused it, but left it be for the moment.
"You should come and see me sometime," he suggested, "And we can share the woes of having children who grow up too soon."

Leo managed to compose himself, hopefully without garnering too much notice. It took a moment to realize Rio had spoken to him. I don't blame you. She certainly seems worth being jealous over. If you wish, I can go elsewhere for a bit so you two can talk?

"Is he alright ?" Echo did ask, after consideration, voice tinted with worry. It looked like Rio had it under control, but...
Really, the language barrier was annoying, through... the more the two spoke, the more she seemed to catch words and understand them. Really, she was a little confused.
"And yes, it would certainly help to have a companion in misery." Not that it was misery, really. It was just... well. Harder than she had thought.

Ah, no, you don't have to go, Rio was quick to assure him. We were only commiserating over children, nothing that can't wait.
He considered for a moment whether to translate Echo's question, but ultimately did. She wants to know if you're alright?
"You're welcome at my door anytime, of course."

Ah, alright. Leo wondered at first why she would ask such a question. It seemed his unease at the mention of Kushiel hadn't gone unnoticed as he'd hoped. And, yes, I'm fine. It's just..Kushiel is well...ah. I can explain later, if you wish. He waved his hand dismissively. Mostly he didn't want to try to explain now, for fear of offending Echo.

"And likewise to you." She said with a smile. Love was certainly among the deities she enjoyed the presence of the most.
Blink, blink, blink. Actually, Leo's restrain was perhaps warranted - not so much out of fear of offence, but because the goddess seemed to be catching up - quickly, at that. That... had almost made sense !

Rio tilted his head, curious as to what it was about the D'Angeline version of Nergal that might be so distressing. Not that he was the most pleasant of gods, but...he wasn't bad. I'd appreciate that, if you don't mind.
"I'd like to see Concerto again. I haven't seen him in forever." The god didn't realize that Echo was catching on, but fortunately, hadn't recently said anything of a...personal nature.

Of course I don't mind. I did say I would answer your questions. Something Echo's expression seemed to say she understood, or at least she was beginning to. He smiled softly at her. Catching on, are we?
