Cold was not something to be enjoyed, and as Gale hit, Marcus yelled yet another curse. Gale you were so cold. Still, is was fun to tease Gale, but if he wanted to fight like that- "I didn't say anything bad Gale." He was smiling. "I just said that I'd talk to you when you became legal. A perfectly okay comment. You're the one who took it the wrong way~" Gale had gotten him good, now it was Marcus's turn to bring his A-game. "Why, what did you think I meant?" He stabbed at Gale. "I mean... Is there something I should know?"

"How should I know what you meant?" said Gale, a bit indignantly, his face still a brilliant red as he glared at Marcus. "You were whispering skeevy things in my ear, that doesn't exactly make you all innocent."
"And no," he said, mouth now falling open as an outraged Gale lifted his rifle again, firing another shot. "There is nothing you should know that you don't already know, you git."

"Oh Gale it's okay, I promise not to tell Eva you're a closet pervert. I'll just tell her to make sure to keep her panties hidden okay?" Cheap shot, he was taking it. "I can whisper other things into your ear Gale, would you prefer that?" He grinned until another shot got him, this time in the chest. Coughing, Marcus stepped back. Gale was really wearing him down this time. Still it didn't stop him as he went back close, whispering to Gale again. "Maybe I know what she likes. Could help you trying to win her over~" The hilt of his sword to his gut probably didn't help.

"I am not," said Gale. "a pervert. And don't talk about Eva's panties," he added in a furiously embarrassed hiss, his face scarlet. Marcus was teasing him again, whispering stupid things -
- and slamming the hilt of his sword into his stomach in the process. That kind of hurt. Wheezing, Gale staggered backwards, colliding with Marcus and sending the both of them stumbling down onto the ground in a heap.
"Nothing you say - cough - will - ow - get me to ever ask for your help again - " Gale gasped out, struggling to get back upright. With as much strength as he could muster, he grabbed the rifle and slammed the butt of his gun into Marcus' stomach.
"I win."

Marcus fell to the ground with Gale and when the butt of the gun came down, Marcus realize '******** that is going to leave a mark.' Staying on the ground he desummoned Dis, groaning as he tried to sit up. Nope. He'd just.. lay here for a bit. It hurt. He was cool with not moving for a while.
"If it makes you feel better, I bet she's modest. And you have won the battle, but not the war Gale. You win the war when you ask her out." He grinned, even in the pain. "I'll help you even if you don't want it, because you're my friend. By the way, you have a chance with her. You honestly do. Just gotta... ask her out."
Marcus sighed. Gale couldn't p***y foot around it forever.

He rolled off of Marcus and lay flopped on the ground next to him, breathing heavily. Soundlessly he desummoned Jinhai, the rifle disappearing into the ring on his finger, and Gale closed his eyes briefly. Despite the fact that he'd managed to finally - finally beat Marcus at the fight, the older hunter hadn't given in without properly giving him a bit of damage as well. His legs ached, but Gale was quite satisfied with himself anyway.
"Fine," he said finally, after managing to catch his breath. "Fine, you idiot, I'll ask her out."

Panting, Marcus admired Gale as he lay next to him. He was good at what he did, even if he didn't know it. Sore, Marcus groaned at he got up. Yeah, he might be walking funny for a while. "Good." He smiled. "Let's do this again some time. I'll bring you something a little later on to help you okay?" Later that night, Gale would find a magazine clipping of 'How to pick up chicks' along with Eva's face cut and pasted on all the ladies in the article.
